Just checked with my company TIME representative who is serving my company. He replied that so far no counter offer from TIME yet responding to TM nor Maxis package. He ask me to be patient after Merdeka there maybe something happening.

LATEST UPDATE: My TIME representative has informed me that there will BE NO PACKAGE UPGRADE even after MERDEKA. As for my earlier post, I did say after MERDEKA but after another round of conversation, he told me NONE at all!

From my point of view also, TIME will not do any upgrade because mostly in condo's UNIFI and MAXIS cannot support pure fibre, only VDSL. So, no matter what TIME can claim they are 100% fibre optic and uses this strong point for them. If you do not want TIME, then stick back to UNIFI or MAXIS (no upgrade at all)

I won't change for the mean time.
I switched from Screamyx 1Mbps!  mad.gif

For condos (old and very old ones) only can support VDSL, better stick back to TIME with 100% Fibre!

Mayb he wants to give you a surprise ?

haha. I don't think so. He is working very closely with me regarding the internet connection as our company took their fiber 100Mbps Internet Direct package for 150K per annum. He is honest and great guy smile.gif

So Time will not be upgrading speed or lowering prices? How are they planning to survive? Everyone will end up using TM
*
I told you in my earlier post. TIME forever will be faster if you stay in condo because most of the condos are still running VDSL unless UNIFI installed FTTH in those condos which I think quite limited now because their earnings drop ady by lowering down the price summore want to upgrade condo to FTTH.

I had stable 50mbps with TM before when we lived on Penang, now we have time 100 and it is a lot less stable, just my personal experience. Also, Maxis is now 129 for 100 and I heard (though never experienced it myself) that Maxis is very very stable.

Just asking, please do not take it as an offense. My experience with Time is very bad no matter where I go. Speed test shows 98mbps (or 280 at my friend's place), but Youtube is buffering 1080p and I can only have decent Whatsapp/Hangouts call on LTE, not WiFI.
*
I am a happy TIME user. Using the stock AC1200 router and then no buffering on Youtube and other videos. Really satisfied to the maximum! Unlike TM, which has firmware issues on its router. TIME stock router AC1200 is OK for me. No complaints smile.gif My 2 cents.

I understand router and interference can affect the speed, this is why my HTPC is connected through LAN and still Youtube buffering. I even tried VPN to see it maybe TIME does some throttling, but still same issue. Though test speed will give close to max speed. I don't know how they manage to do that.

Probably depends on the area too. But good for you that TIME works well (no sarcasm at all), I wish it was the case for me. I'm stuck with Time because our landlord provides it, but we're moving soon, so now I can finally choose TIME/Maxis/TM
*
Cool bro! I wish your next available provider can give u stable internet connection smile.gif

my experience with Time has been good. service outage since i installed can be counted with one hand (which is going to be a year of service in few more months)

the reluctant and ignorance of TM to pull fiber to home and increase the snail speed is the main reason for me to port out.

people have their choices of staying or leaving their service providers according to their needs.
if you think the other side is greener, you can always jump.

Bro bro! High 5! I have the same thinking as you and ended where am I now! Happy TIME user after 1 week plus! icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi, Archer C9 user here which is AC1900.
I'm using Archer C9 V2 which is the old TP-Link logo.

The performance quite good with 100Mbps.
Able to achieve 100Mbps via both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
2.4GHz set with 40MHz Bandwidth.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. Time to get 1 though smile.gif

You're welcome. You're using 100Mbps?

Maybe you can get the TP-Link AC2300 for the future if got upgrade.
Or you can get TP-Link  AC3150.

Thanks.
*
Yes. I am using 100Mbps at the moment.

AC2300 and AC3150 is too heavy for me now as I may under utilize it. I am not a heavy gamer and I download some light stuff only.

Coverage is important to me.

Can AC1900 support up to 800Mbps?

Thanks.

Archer C9 coverage quite good except 5GHz WiFi.
I'm able to get full signal in my room over 2.4GHz and 2 bars over 5GHz WiFi.
If your laptop able to support 40MHz then you're able to achieve full speed if not congested.
I set my 2.4GHz to 40MHz and 5GHz to 80MHz

Archer C9 can support up to 500Mbps on 5GHz WiFi.
1Gbps on Gigabit LAN.

To get 800Mbps on WiFi, the best suggestion is AC3150.
To get 1Gbps on WiFi, the best suggestion is AC5400.

Thanks.

Thanks for the information. If the coverage is not too strong for 5GHZ then I have a standby unit RE-450 with me which I am currently using right now. No issues on that smile.gif

So far I think maximum 300Mbps is enough for me (although I am using 100Mbps currently). So I think this router Archer C9 still serves me well.

Ya. I know. As for him the budget is around RM500.

Will wait for AC2300 price to go down.
AC2300 was launched for a year only.
I'm hoping to try the AC2300 but we bought C9 2 years back only which is still quite. If I can sell the C9 then is quite good to get the AC2300.

Thanks.
*
At the end, I get C9 due to it's classy look and great design. C9 is more than enough for me for the time being smile.gif

i hope they can maintain my speed at 100 and reduce the monthly fees.....

Depends on what you want. Some demand:

1.) Same Price But Double Bandwidth
2.) Reduce Price Maintain Speed
3.) Reduce Price & Upgrade Speed

Me too because of the design of the router.
Only this model that can stand whereas other router are sitting.
Do let me know if you need configuration with this router.
I'm happy to assist you with this C9. IPv6 able to work when enable in settings.
Will change once my router cacat and totally cannot use at all.
Besides reduce price. Also need to remain the same price for existing and new customers.
New customers pay more than existing.

Most probably will choose number 1 and 3.
I'm not sure whether they will reduce the speed as existing and new customers pay at different price.

Thanks.
You're welcome bro. Been using my C9 for 2 years already
Coverage quite good. Speed also good.
You will never regret once you get the C9.

If can top up, get AC2300.

Thanks.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

Thanks bro! Currently I setup as Auto Config (channel bandwidth) everything is good. The 5GHZ is really running well. Running simultaneously on a few devices, no buffering at all! WOW! Amazing for the C9 with 100Mbps speed. No regret buying it! I am using ipv4, not using ipv6 smile.gif

Just checked my TP LINK AC1900 router. The hardware version is V5. Weird. I taught only V4.

You're welcome bro. I'm glad that you're happy with the new router.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
You may set up IPv6 if you need. I'm using both IPv4 and IPv6.
You may set to 40MHz on 2.4GHz to get 100Mbps for non-5GHz devices.
The coverage is better with the new router?
Which router you use before that?
Previous router was ZTE router. After TIME introduced new plan then existing router cannot tahan with the new speed.
On Wi-Fi only can get 5 - 10Mbps after the TIME's upgrade.
You may upgrade to AC5400 or above in the future when they introduce 1Gbps line and above.
In future, there will new wireless band.

Will upgrade mine when we have a big family in our house.

I use 5Ghz for all my devices. Ok. I try setting it to 40Mhz and see. I just use C5 a week old and then straight i fall in love with the design of C9. So without any hesitation, I upgrade to C9. Yes, if in future I get higher speeds, I may go for higher range routers.
