Forumer you are complaining against: Harrie

Item being sold/bought: Sony Xperia Z3 Copper

Original thread link: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3910844&hl=

Date of transaction: Friday, 1/4/2016

Details of the complaint : This appears as a record, or as a query about the postage transaction.

Contacted via whatsapp, and eventually paid rm 950 for the > 1 year old Xperia Z3.
Paid on Friday evening, 1/4/16 and seller posted the item next day, Saturday.
Received from Poslaju today, Monday lunch time.

Parcel was well wrapped with newspapers and gift paper. Pic 1 and Pic 2.

Aftger work, I got home and power on the Z3.
Found that the Top Left part of the keyboard was not responding, and I cant type the letters "W", "2" at all. Different alphabet came out.
I tried out with Google and Touchpal keyboards, and the results are the same ... cant get to type on that specific area.

Pictures show normal and landscape use of Google and Touchpal keyboards. The Exact parts (circled) were not responding (i cant get to lowyat.net because i cant type the"w", lol)

Contacted the seller Harrie and he assured me that the Z3 was functioning well and had no such problem at all.

I took it to the shop and the guy said most likely its the ribbon/touch screen issue.

Now I am in a dilemma. Seller sounded sure of the phone's good condition, but i cant use it at all for texting and googling.

I am wondering what went wrong? It is the Poslaju that broke the phone? Did I do something wrong to break it? Or, the seller is not telling me about it?

LATEST: -
Phone is repaired...refer to POST 62 please. Thanks.

Seller's photo and address are posted here.

bro, agree with you. I thought trusting a regular seller is good enough.
the screen has problem, as I had been using different ways to test it.

fyi, this seller isn't even trusted trader.

all his old threads are closed with no customer feedback, and he edited out all the first posts so that there is no trace for any dispute. most fishy sellers do this. be cleverer next time.

all mobile shops want to sell lemon units as its easy money, but its hard to sell in physical shop if consumer inspect everything before purchasing, but online? easy, just show some pictures, do postage, then get money and send out the lemon, then gg, no need care, just pretend and insist that its working 100%. edited out the post and ggwp. no nid care much.

all you can do?

post his name and bank numbers and show in scammer alert, and careful trading as his mobiles are mostly lemon units.

the chance that the mobile phone could have a broken part in the touch screen is less than 1 percent that it is damaged during the postage process. so you can rightly believe it has to be the case that it is already broken before shipping out. Only idiots will believe the sellers who he claims that its working 100% when it has problem on receiving.

Hard reset will also calibrate the screen for u, maybe a software update too is required.. if not fix, unlucky u kena scam lo...if over rm300 better buy new phone and use the phone as display connected to external bluetooth keyboard..

Just had a screen diagnostic, and the result shows that the left section (same as the part that I cannot text on the keyboard) cannot draw any lines over it. It means that this left section is 'dead' ?

There's nothing you can do if the seller doesn't want to refund you. All you can do is post up his information here to alert future buyers. See that he changes his mind .

Thanks bro.
1. He deleted his selling remarks. But the second post (reply by interested buyer in which he cant delete) can see that he DID NOT state his unit 'Condition'.

2. My phone shop tole me the same : Poslaju might break the sceen, or break the phone into 2 parts, but cannot SPOIL a large part of the screen in this way (screen and digitizer rosak).
Actually I dont mind to receive a crack screen or a physically broken phone as the postage process might spoil it, but NOT a spoilt screen that I cant text on it !!!.

Yes, you are right, only idiots believe that the poslaju can spoil a phone this way. We are not born today !

Thanks again for your effort in replying bro.

Hard reset also cannot resolve it. Downloaded the apk file for calibration also cannot resolve it.
Did few software updates, also cannot resolve it.
A lyn shop asks for rm 400 to get a new original screen n ribbon !!!
Sigh ....

Thanks bro

I am somehow reluctant to post his info, becauase seller kept assuring and telling me that his unit is 100% functioning. I am having all his whatsapp messages. I recall that he was in a hurry and insist to sell and post to me on Saturday (Poslaju) even though I said I could wait till next week. Emm. bit fishy here.

But after reading all the I shd post I think I shd post as much info as I can this morning.....It takes a long while to compile the messages .... Thanks.

if he doesn't want to admit it, then so be it. That's the catch with online purchases. Sometimes you lose out. If I'm the seller here, even tho I know my device has no problem before shipment, I will try my best to assist the buyer, even refunding the buyer if need be. Because my reputation is at stake here.

Bro I don't think you should post his pictures bro. It's just a small issue. What if the seller is telling the truth here, that the phone was working fine before postage. Shipping is at the buyer's risk unless stated by the seller. Hope you can work it out with him.

agree with you bro Victorian. this is a smaller issue, and it would be most unkind to post his pic.

btw, he said the Z3 was working 100%, in which i beg to disagree. the screen is lagging, and it takes quite some effort (about 4-5 times) just to drag a short cut icon to the removal dustbin.

i think even cod, you might not have found it, as you need to start texting alot, all over the keyboard only then you realise the issue. no wonder the seller said 'check every item during cod' ... like telling the buyer, if you cant find it out, thats your problem.

from his sale thread >> Warranty: no more due to more than a year, so must check every detail and no warranty provide by me.

hi all, is me harrie here. all of you can see my private address, bank account and so on. yes, i am sure that my phone is in 100% good in working condition. At the beginning of pm, i did say i only COD to sell my gadgets to ensure buyer check everything due to phone is warranty over. I am very worry about POS due to any accident could be happen. What is the worst this is Mike is received the phone safely but unfortunately the phone end up got touch screen problem which i never face this issue before even the night before i pos it. To mike and all lowyat forumer, my every private detail has been exposed. if i want to cheat buyer, i should have just hide everything about me myself. And for the first , also for the last, i will not perform pos for deal anymore, will only insist COD to let buyer checks everything until satisfied then i will sell off my lovely gadget. im not a trader, im just buy and sell mobile gadgets to try.

For Mike, i personally apologize to you that we have such a bad experience of dealing. i will not blame you to exposed my private living place and detail. During this incident, i would say no one want this. So for safety, fairness reason, i will only COD to sell my gadgets.

To trust or not to trust is not beyond my control. im just telling the truth. The only way i could prevent it happen again is i will only COD and buyer should check everything carefully especially for product that out of warranty.

For buyer that worry about my personality and credit, please ignore me or report me.

i am still able to receive message thru whatsapp and also will reply.

Lastly, i am truly sorry to mike for such a bad experience happen to him and me.

For so many years i have never deal thru POS and here the first and last also. i will only insist to COD in future to ensure everyone safe and happy. Im not a trader/phone seller. im just a user who buy, try, sell only. Do some review of smartphone.

Again, i will stated insist to COD only even though buyer take the risk to avoid any misunderstanding. once again, im truly sorry mike.

Trying not to be bias here but postage could loosen the ribbon cable as well.
Phone shops may not tell you the truth at times as they want you to have your repair there while they only have to open it and tighten the ribbon cable and there rm300

I suggest you to open the phone up if you have experience in doing so, or ask your friends who have experience in doing so.

If the seller has given you personal warranty, he should amend it by giving you a FULL refund and you shall send it back and it depends on what the seller should do with the phone

Contacted the seller Harrie and he assured me that the Z3 was functioning well and had no such problem at all.

what i suggest it, make a video showing the dysfunctional part of touch screen.

I have used many touch screen mobile phones , and accidentally dropped them many times [iphone 4, samsung j and s, asus zenfone], and many have the touch screens cracked. but never did i experience "part of touch screen being non responsive" before due to fall damage, and moreover the phone is kept inside the box.

fyi, I only replied to this thread because in my experience, phone kept in box without significant "damage" seen on the box or cover itself and the first got some malfunctioned part in the touch screen is straight out bullshit.

i owned many touch screen phones before and had them fallen to ground many times. most of the time the touch screen would still work fine except for large crack then the touch screen will be off and non-responsive [ghost touch]. but touch screen issue without any crack and covered by box without damage on the postage? certainly suits the lemon unit label.

fyi, I only replied to this thread because in my experience, phone kept in box without significant "damage" seen on the box or cover itself and the first got some malfunctioned part in the touch screen is straight out bullshit.

i owned many touch screen phones before and had them fallen to ground many times. most of the time the touch screen would still work fine except for large crack then the touch screen will be off and non-responsive [ghost touch]. but touch screen issue without any crack and covered by box without damage on the postage? certainly suits the lemon unit label.
*
U got the point there.

The phone is 'damaged' but show no trace on the box?

Even Poslaju will not entertain this kind of accusation.

Hello. Thanks for all your concerns.

Yes, the parcel is in good looking condition when i received it from poslaju. i have the habit of taking photos for the transaction processes.
Yes, there is an about 1cm to the left of the screen that does not respond to touch. this covers the "w" and "2" parts of the keyboard. everytime i press on these 2 characters, it does not register, and will skip to neighbouring characters.
The test above (the dark pic) shows that i cannot draw on the left side of the screen.

If the seller's claim is genuine, then its bad luck for me - the screen is about to die - and it died just when I open and turn on the phone ! If this is the case, its one in a million chance.

what the hack has has happened?

i also dunno what is happening. been trying out too many things via google and forums. still cant resolve the problem. the left side of the screen hasa 1 cm of long stretch not responding. i press on it, it skips to neighbouring letters. i press on the internet links on this part, no respond.
i am giving up. too tired.

Hi all

Just received the parcel from TS.

Upon checking.
Vertical dead spot on touch screen between the 2 limes lines.
Attached Image

Based on my experience fixing 900+ phones.
The touch screen is damaged.

This SAME issue happens mostly on
LG nexus 4
LG G2
LG G3
OnePlus One (few)

This issue is NOT CAUSED BY DROPS.

anonymous34
Z3 ribbon cannot longgr.
Touch screen connector connected to LCD flex.
Then there is a sticker over the touch screen connector so it doesnt unplug.
Then there is a metal shield over the touch screen and display connector.
Then 2 screws on the shield.

This Sony phones won't be waterproof after repairs.
Z3's top speaker is sticked on the LCD.
So once you remove it...
SCREWED

Will have crackling sound.
Like torn speaker.

Yeah. I take it in as a repairer. Not as an end user.
If I was an end user like you, I wouldnt want to deal with that pile of junk. But as a repairer, challenges like this will be fun. If you're an end user, just send it to an authorized repair shop or a reputable freelancer such as Gurvin.

Thanks bro for your comments above.
Yeah, aftyer talking to few repair shops and hardware shops, issue is not caused by drops or transit damage.

I have been and still am, sending out and receiving notebooks and other elecrical items via poslaju, gdexpress, nationwide, skynet, no issues for me since 1990s.
It is fair to say that the phone is NOT in 100% as claimed by seller. Its a lemon unit.

it is fair to re post his pic and address here ....

24/4/2016.

The Z3 has been reapired, with new LCD scree and digitizer + new top speaker. rm500.
The phone is in good working condition now, except, the top left cover for the charging port is still loose and cant fit properly.

It is confirmed by the good repairer guy Gurvin that the screen cannot be spoilt/damaged by the postage process. It was also confimred by my 2 shops (hardware and software) in town that the screen must be damaged/non working properly before postage.

I spent some time going thru seller's sale threads: -

1. The comments above were right, all sales details were deleted after the sale is done, or closed.
2. His latest sale of the tablet was posted and immediately closed and details deleted on the same day i had posted this dispute. Fishy !!!

No more stories. We are not born today. We have been using postages since 1995.

Therefore, i am posting the seller Harrie's photo and address in the first thread to give warning to future potential people who wish to trade with this fellow.

I am waiting for compensation of the repair cost.

Hi Mike,

Can't believe it's been more than a year and hope you're fine.

To be honest, i'm deeply sorry for this trade.

And i'm still active in forum and will not hiding or run away.

Yes, you can notify forumers to beware of me as you have face the problem.

I did a full check before i post to you just to make sure everything is alright, this is what i can tell.

i know i have no much of proof as you to show all my details and pictures, but i dont blame it.

I hope you can just crop my photo just to show me to forumers beware of me but not to drag other people in the photo into the case.

I don't mind all forumers to call me scammer or con-man which i never did.

All my details you don't have to delete as well, just crop the photo to respect other people privacy.

I have no perform any postage trading anymore after this case happened.
