according to tweak town it needs more than a 1080ti. Maybe Titan V hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
so who is going to play this on a titan v? hmm.gif
*
as far as T-V goes, seems like its the only gpu that not owned by LYN forumer.
*these 2-3 lyner that get highest end gpu every year.

Square Enix says that they haven't published minimum specs because they're "developing at such a high-end we can't define it yet."

i always believe a great PC developer always can fully utilize the PC from low to high end. only a bad one requires such monster.
*also, it is true 1080ti is not enough for 4K. you need SLI 1080Ti min. provided they have good SLI optimization as well = 1+1 = 1.8 or 1.9 biggrin.gif

i think most high end GPUs can play 1080p. frame rate is the only prob. hopefully it's optimized enough.

turning off nvidia hairworks etc should be good enough i guess?

the graphics are quite similar to witcher 3. so think of it as witcher 3 with 4K?

witcher 3 @ 4k bring down the fps to around 30++. sweat.gif
tho i use DSR instead of native 4k monitor. still freaking gorgeous, but the fast pace gameplay will make you go back 1440p to maintain 60fps (i play at 75fps)

Yup Witcher 3 at 4K 60fps is not achievable with my single GTX1080. Well it's not the Ti but still. 1600p is fine, but still seeing frame drops. So it's 1440p for me. Framerate is more important than resolution.

yeap. if slow-pace gameplay, 30fps++ avg is acceptable for me - eg. RE7 those game.
but if fast pace combat, need to maintain 60fps 1st then graphic came later.

To me, I still prefer to game on my monitor than a 4K TV. On my GTX 970, I'm able to achieve 60fps on the Witcher 3 but there are times where it dipped below that, but still playable.

I have no doubt that FFXV will be able to run on my PC with my current card, but see how far Squeenix is willing to scale down their graphics in the final product. I don't plan to upgrade my PC anytime soon but see how it goes. hmm.gif

Early 2018? When ya? Finally a game worth buying. It's been a while since I bought a game. I only have 1060 though...hopefully can play in 60 FPS.

no mentions of release date. early could mean first quarter. correct me if i'm wrong.

'worth buying' is very subjective. i personally enjoyed the game and find it worth my money. PO-ed for the ps4 release in 2016, will buy again on steam. the game itself is quite dark unlike any other FF main titles. so if you have high expectations of fantasy you will most likely be disappointed.

as a long time fanboy of Final Fantasy series, my opinion might be biased. look up the reviews yourself if you are not a fan of FF series.

even many FF fans complained about it.

I am a long fan boy of FF series too. I knew the game is different than the usual FF series but I am okay with it. Previously wanted to get PS4 but ended up not getting it cause not much time to play.

I was so happy when they announced that they are going to release it on PC laugh.gif

Yea early could meant first quarter or it could be also be delayed. Hopefully it'll come out soon laugh.gif

In my opinion though, FFXV is meant to be a high end gaming experience. Even when the game was still in development, Squeenix showed off a tech demo of Luminous engine running on a Geforce card. I immediately thought of a future FFXV release on PC, though it wasn't clear yet at that point if they were interested in releasing a PC version.

On the lower scale, I think we should be able to get by with a base 1080p/60 with Nvidia Gameworks effects off. This should be a match for the console versions. On the higher scale? It could mean not being able to hit 4k/60 with Nvidia Gameworks on as usual. In any case, I love that Japanese studios are embracing the potential muscle of PC gaming rather than just a straight port.

hit roll hit roll repeat. fast-pace as the combat need fluid fps. not really until other FPS game.
still its not enjoyable at 30fps++. you need 60fps to love the combat.

try witcher 1 - that's the damn slow pace tongue.gif

Expectation and reality is really different. You expect to be okay with it, but will reality be okay for you? Only until the release will know, so please buy to increase sales tongue.gif

Apparently, windows version will get everything bundled together. Most of the DLCs are out already. The episodes and multiplayer and idk. So it's unlikely to be delayed, unless there's an announcement to add new DLC for PS4 sweat.gif

still super slow imo, haha. yes fluidity I agree, it's smooth and realistic. but I played it right after Nier so you can imagine the huge difference from insanely fast paced game vs witcher's pace sweat.gif

bought w1 and w3, played them both for awhile and stopped, couldn't tahan the combat pace, haha. story was just so-so to me.

Luminous engine scales quite well I think. We can already see the differences between Xbox One and Xbox One X. Those are the ones with the lowest resolution and highest resolution on consoles respectively. An i7 level PC with a 1080ti can easily run circles around the console versions with default settings. Running on Ultra is certainly within expectation, unless we see unoptimized code like what happened with Batman Arkham Knight.

1080ti only enough for 1440p ultra (depends also).
no single GPU can do 4k @ 60fps for all available games (not selected).

syukur la can get 30fps @ 4k during walking / switch back to 1440p when combat laugh.gif

Realistically a 1080 or 1080ti should be able to achieve1440p/60 with everything on. Maybe even 1600p on the 1080ti, but not 2160p. Again, I'd rather get 60fps on lower resolution rather than 4k/30.

So a new announcement for FFXV.

Royal Edition incoming. Looks like we can expect a delay in PC release.
