That's great, tho why the sudden change of heart from Squeenix when their Final Fantasy series have always been focused on the PS and not on the PC (with the exception of VII, VIII, IX, X, XI and XIV)?
Btw, the last 2 are released to tap into the PC MMO market and since the majority of the games in the series are single-player, maybe Squeenix didn't see it as worthwhile to release it on the PC, I guess.

Hopefully the upcoming remake of FFVII will make it unto the PC, tho based on Squeenix's history, well... it's hard to say at this point.
Not that surprising though. The gap between the consoles and PC have considerably lessened, so the development process is similar. Both Xbox One and PS4 use AMD processors, with DX11 based GPUs.
In the past Square only focused on a single platform. All of the FF games before FFXIII only had a single target platform during the development phase. Also, Japanese game studios traditionally built their own engines before they even build the game. Since the engine was developed with a target platform in mind (PS1, PS2 etc) porting is often not straightforward.
Going forward I would expect faster turnaround time for PC ports, as it should be easier with the middleware engines like Unreal. I will definitely buy their PC efforts, in order to show support. Now where's Dissidia for PC?
