For the last time...after I've read thru all the posts, it is confirmed that those who has NO account with Maxis AT ALL, CAN apply for "Maxis 3G Unlimited Data Only Without Voice" at RM99/month (+5% tax), just like U-Mobile RM68 Data Plan only....true...?

If the above statement is correct, then, based on my opinion, Maxis will attract many new accounts IF the end-users know the bad things about FUP...

Hmmm... maybe I should put my signature as "Banned FUP"...lol...
*
regarding NO account with Maxis

yes, i was like dat b4 i signed up 3G internet

but if hav ac, why cannot?.......actually my fren was on WBB and he cannot switch over to to this 3G plan

Let me answer myself....lol...

The answer to my own question is, "YES!"

Yes! You can sign-up for "Maxis3G Unlimited Data Plan Without Voice" for RM99/month EVEN THOUGH you DO NOT have any Maxis account.

Actually, I have successfully use the "unet" APN in my E220 modem. Testing my company VPN right now. So far so good.

Therefore, now :

Voice callĀ  = Celcom (RM30/month)
Data1 = Maxis3G (RM99/month)
Data2 = U-Mobile (RM68/month)

Will ditch Maxis3G or U-Mobile whichever fails to fulfill my requirements....
*
hey dude,

u are similiar to me

Voice call ported my siowcom postpaid to maxis , got Youth Club package instead @12 cents/min
the 39 cents shown on my ac bal was gifted by Maxis for me to make a first call to activate the new port-in line biggrin.gif
Attached Image
Data1 = Umobile rm68/mth
Data2 =Maxis 3G internet one of the 2 Multisim @ rm64.50/mth (rm99+rm15+rm15 devided by 2)

For voice call, i still prefer Celcom. My office using Maxis and EVERYWHERE I go outstation (remote or city area), Celcom coverage and clarity are always better than Maxis even after swapping SIMs between two different phones. (I'm not bias, this is my experience...).

Now based on my "analysis" for data, U-Mobile wins at the moment. Whether direct download, youtubing, and P2Ping, U-Mobile always outperform Maxis3G. The only good thing about Maxis3G is Dynamic IP which can RapidSharing. But I have company's VPN, so using U with VPN also can RapidSharing...

Gonna give Maxis3G another chance on other sites/locations especially at my office and at night/midnight times.
*
i fully agreed wif wat u said,

abt the voice call, yes celcom wins hands down , but i am a light user of voice and was "forced" to sign-up my VIP number under celcom back then. Now i ady ported out to sav on the access fee jor thumbup.gif

abt maxis 3G, if u are using in the Klang Valley, yes the congestion is there BUT the upside is the Dynamic IP tat lets us DL fr RS and MU.. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

fyi, Maxis max out here @2.50 MBps and Umobile max out @1.40 MBps

I'm using the same modem and I have used it for all wireless broadband providers: Celcom, U-Mobile, DiGi (EDGE & HSDPA), Maxis. smile.gif
No problem for my case. smile.gif
Just make sure to key in the right APN, then it should work. smile.gif
*
cool.gif

Broadband Expert (BBE).... thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

can someone compile all the respective APN for all telcos in malaysia?

thx

btw , if we dun input the APN, will the connection still works?

i noticed tat maxis 3G and maxis WBB hav different APN although both shared the same backbone....anyone can comment on this too

thx

nah, just wondering whether or not i made wrong assumption when i test 3G sim with my WBB zte.

if locked modem isn't a myth, then cool.
*
anyway, a M3G sim and WBB sim can be use on a locked ZTE MF600 fr Maxis.......so why bother

i am contemplating using a umobile data sim on a MF600 biggrin.gif

Nah, not all batches of ZTE MF600 modems are unlocked for Maxis 3G. smile.gif
*
if tat MF600 can be use on a Celcom data sim, do u think it an unlock modem?

btw, if u read back he-sham's posting, one number multi-sim can hav more than 1 secondary sims, meaning, rm99+rm15+rm15+rm15+rm15 does exist......so wats your decision yet......?

Askar Perang, which model you using? I Using the u1-tf modem and i couldnt get to 3g connection since day 1. It is like maxis 3g connection rejects my connection. I got 2 of them, one of them could only connect EDGE, another one couldn't even detect both my multi-sim

But the funny thing is, both of these modem can work with my sim card(Maxis) which is meant for calling purpose, with 3g and super fast speed.

Anyone mind to clarify? X_X Maxis CS will assist me soon, complained since day1..
*
could it be tat maxis sim-locked both your simcards?

*

abt your modem,[cool.gif

I'm using normal maxis 3G sim (not multi sim), taking the unlimited package of RM99 per month.
The connection is good. But the problem is, it will always get disconnected.
*
finally,

where is your location?

if it is PJ ( near moderator Fruitie's area ) then it is bandwidth saturation or line congestion

Just what I needed to clear my doubts of changing from WBB to 3G. Thanks a heap man.

Just have to wait less than a month more and I can happily swap.

By the way, any ZTE B932 users here?
