Well, I don't think we can maximise our HSPA speed, so why worry about HSPA+?
After all, it doesn't cost much and it works well, I guess these points should take into consideration.
I'm not sure if any router (note router not MiFi) in the market is supporting HSPA+ yet.
I'm using 3-year old HSDPA modem and I can't even use HSPA on it, yet I'm still satisfied

Yes, HSPA+ is coming to Maxis soon.

I don't have experience with TP Link, so can't comment much, it could be better or worse.
The reason I bought this router was for my iPad, as I bought the WiFi only version.
After using it and get it plugged to my laptop using LAN cable, I do find it convenient especially on the auto-reconnect part.
Actually Maxis will be going for LTE very soon.

MAXIS will be running Dual Band nationwide soon, 900MHz and 2100MHz. Currently they are running Trial in JB and the Klang Valley.

I've tested Aztech, Prolink and TP Link 3G routers.

I find TP Link is the best if you want more control over the router's configurations. And the best feature i like most compared to the other 2 brands is TP Link shows you the 3G signal strength within the web interface. I'm using it's WDS feature to link up two of the same routers wirelessly as I want to put one with HSPA modem + a Yagi antenna outside my house without laying long UTP cable to get the best HSPA signal from my low coverage hillside apartment. This router also supports firmware mod with OpenWRT.

Aztech has the most simplified Web UI and the least configuration. Can't even reserve a static IP address for your device if you need to. Aztech's USB port supports all kinds of USB devices including printers, mass storage and even USB hubs.

For Prolink, the only reason I'm keeping this router is the MAC address cloning feature that I use whenever I stay in a hotel that only provide wired broadband.

All three routers support auto-reconnect and they are sub-RM100 3G routers which I think is very cheap and meet most' requirements.

I am using Prolink PWH2004, and their customer service has helped to added UMG1831 hspa+ into the compatibility list. Now the hspa+ is working on this 3G router.

according to malaysiawireless blog, previous there is term on 3gb data and i believe maxis still not yet impose any speed reduction on unlimited plan user

Aiya, don't be so particular la. In the end, both broadband services are using the same platform is just that one with unlimited usage and another one with limited usage.

If I go back PD, it starts flying at 1.00 a.m. everyday but in PJ it only starts flying at 3.00 a.m.
I mean in PJ also can start downloading at 1.00 a.m. but only at about 20+kBps but once it touches 3.00 a.m., it will fly to 600kBps.

It is the same, both can use the same APN and still can be connected.

You probably need to understand the difference between 750kbps and 750kBps.
If 750kbps it is bad enough because it is only about 93.75kBps.

Earlier I got a cheap Huawei E1762 modem to be attached to my router but the modem can't work well on my laptop, the thing was crawling like snail.

So, I sold it off and the other party claims no issues with my modem.

I have changed my laptop recently, hopefully it can use on mine... Really dying to utilise HSPA speed but no chance... Someone please lend me a HSPA enabled modem to try out.

Not sure why, already flashed my router to work with the modem, everything can be detected but the speed is not moving...
Let it plugged straight to my laptop, also the same. Both direct connection or using router.

Haha. I have been experiencing it daily at office.
This is our WiFi connection, wired connection will be faster but I'm always on mobile so connected through WiFi most of the time.

i think maxis believe for those who work is less torrenting or p2p compare to youth.........
if it open to personal..more youth or those young ppl will subscribe mostly p2p like my fren

LOL. Then, i might as well find somebody wants that phone and use that plan. But it is iphone 3G, not iphone 4.
