Guys, will the speed be better using a real modem compared to using my iPhone 4?

Thanks
*
well, modem is targeted @ focusing for broadband network to online only, while phone is not, phone easily get HOT, battery drain super fast,...

*
yesi finally did, and hoping to seal the deal in next week ,.. thank god for that Amen,! happy.gif

have Anyone try to use the Multisim with the ZTE MF627 modem or Dlink DWM 151 modem ? any clue whether they will fit ? both modem is unlock,.. i had try with maxis BB and hotlink prepaid BB before as well, just hope the Maxis Multisim will work,..

and i do have 1 question,

my ZTE MF 627 modem original is 3.6mbps downlink and 384kbps uplink,.. i able to upgrade it to 7.2mbps downlink,.. meaning will the download speed exceed more than 3.6mbps or to exceed the 3.6mbps we will need HSPA modem like Huawei E1762 ???
any clue on this ??? in my area penang georgetown have HSPA network,.. just though whether we need a HSPA modem to exceed 3.6Mbps or the upgraded HSDPA 7.2MBps modem can do the job,..?? hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

as u all can see from result , the multi sim do work fine with ZTE and Dlink usb modem, for as for Dlink DWM151 the ping is not really good,.. and ZTE MF627 ping is way better and yet stable,..

So is big different when u using HSDPA / HSUPA / HSPA / HSPA+ as in penang Georgetown Area maxis have HSPA everywhere,. will need HSPA+ modem to try out whether how far the speed can go,.. hmm.gif

those 3.6mbps HSDPA modem been flash to 7.2mbps will only achieve as far as 3.6mbps only,. if u want to achieve more, u need HSUPA / HSPA / HSPA + usb modem,..
( as my ZTE MF627 i flash it from 3.6mbps to 7.2mbps, )

hope this tips can help some one out there,..

There is but no longer offered to new subscribers. This plan has been discontinued since 2009, it is only for the people who signed up this plan before it got discontinued. smile.gif

frutie,

since u are using the 3G router with your usb modem ?

is it more stable when using in this way and better than plug usb modem direct to computer ? hmm.gif

So far nothing happens and Maxis has no intention to revoke this plan, so please don't jinx us. laugh.gif tongue.gif
I find it more convenient for me as it auto reconnects every time it gets disconnected. I'm not sure if something wrong with me, I do find it a bit faster. laugh.gif
Not forgetting the convenience of using WiFi too, I can easily connect to Internet when I'm on iPad. smile.gif

thanks for tips, i will go to look for 3G HSPA router,. hope it stable and auto reconnect too,. yea wireless is convenien and easy,

If you stay in the northern area of west malaysia, no need to worry. If you stay Selangor or south of it, it is heck of a concern.

Touch wood, so far nothing happens to my router yet. I'm in PJ by the way.
Probably my room is so hidden that the lightning can't reach. blush.gif
I don't switch off my router, it is almost turned on 24/7 unless I need to go back to hometown, then I have no choice to turn it off. smile.gif
So far, it is running well, 9 months already and still good. *touch wood*
*
fruite,

what kind of model of Aztech router u use ? does it support HSPA ?

I think we need to put a stop on this, this thread is not for this kind of trading. smile.gif
Aztech HW 550-3G. Click here
Yes, it supports HSPA. smile.gif
It is quite cheap nowadays, less than RM 100. smile.gif I got mine at RM 108. biggrin.gif

Not sure, probably my house is not located at high areas and prone for lightning. smile.gif
FYI, my room is really hidden that I can't see sunlight, hear noise or anything. laugh.gif
*
wow, in this case i think i really need to get 1,. i just worries one thing that when maxis have the HSPA+ network then i scare this router might not support up to HSPA+ ,... it should be coming soon HSPA+ right fruite ?
