Hello !
I'm currently playing Classical and would looooove to play Electric too.
I'm getting my first Electric Guitar soon for my birthday and I need your help, so I won't be regretting until I have the money to buy another guitar.
Some guitars are based on some music
and I want to play mostly Indie Music.
(eg : Death Cab for Cutie , Eisley , Rilo Kiley , Tegan & Sara...)

3 posts in less than 10 minutes time and they're all posted by new members. biggrin.gif tongue.gif

Anyway I vouch for the Yamaha Pacifica & SX Guitars.

Indie rock? Go for either a Yamaha Pacifica or a Epiphone Les Paul Special if you're on a budget..... a Fender Strat or a Gibson Les Paul special if you have a bigger budget.

And don't forget a decent amp. The Vox AD30VT would be a good choice amp.

any low-mid range ibanez/cort/sx/pacifica + roland microcube should fit the bill...

Wouldn't recommend Ibanez for indie rock..... to trebly..

go for either an SX strat or Pacifica strat... And your choice of either the microcube or the VoxDA15... I would personally go for the Vox..... as it's more inclined towards the Indie rock sound you're going for.

Pacifica is Yamaha right ? I heard Yamaha deals with a lot of money .

And I've always wanted a pink guitar (being a girl ; duh?)
the body can be custom paint right ? Usually how much it cost ?

Seriously, I'm sooo a newbie in these.

Body CAN be repainted, but it's usually very expensive and sometimes not to the standard you want. Pick a guitar and just put stickers on it tongue.gif
OR.... you could go ultra cute and buy the pink Hello Kitty fender/Squire strat!

But yes.... it's the Yamaha Pacifica we're talking about. Have very good reviews here and outside as well for a "budget" guitar. Sorry. I don't think they have it in pink though......

Yeah..... it's not very versatile, costs RM1200(!!!) before discount and probably won't fit your style..... but it's pink!

BTW..... I'll probably be getting the black Hello Kitty guitar..... it just looks so AWSOME!!!

This is what (i think) BlackTrix is taking about:

Squier Hello Kitty(R) Stratocaster

But try to get a good solid low-end guitar like what everyone has posted, SX or Pacifica. They are good guitars for newbies, well .... good enough till like you want something more "expensive"after a few years playing, then that's for next time.

Only saw the first video. Very impressive. Have to see what amp he's using though, and most importantly the player was good.

well, it's typical strat copy with bridge humbucker pickup only. (not even got coil-split...)

this kitty guitar itself is not versatile at all...

i would recommend a HSH/SSH config with coil-split function guitar.

Man, where you get the idea that Ibanez is too trebly? (and aren't indie rock trebly anyway?).

The SX Strat and the pacifica should be the trebly one since it is based on the classic strat design.
