VITA 2k is a bit dated though.
Comparing against the 3 current portable consoles (3DS, Switch, Vita), it’s definitely the least attractive.

PROs
- Price. It’s probably the cheapest it will ever be. Do try to source for it second hand for max value.
- Some JRPGs like Persona 4 Golden is a classic and very well optimized.
-compact size. It’s smaller than the switch. It’s not as thick as the 3DS.
- cheaper games and accessories. Memory cards used to be extremely expensive, now they’re just expensive.
- supports Bluetooth headphones

Cons
- Not many great games compared to 3DS. Many ports are not optimized. You get very bad frame rate.
- Sub HD screen
- Sony is going to discontinue it next year. You will not be seeing any new English games.

Im leaving the pirated portion out from this recommendation.

Hi, guys. What's the cons of installing vita shell? Can I still access my PSN acc after installed vita shell and can I still play online games?

some people say u still might be banned even though sony no longer care about vita. u still can login psn but at u won risk. for me jave two vita, one i use for hack vita, one use for playing my legit psn account. up to you

but vita shell/hack sure, cam play all vita and psp games.

i logged out of my account when i install henkaku... coz you can download directly those games directly. coz later scared banned, my ps3,ps4 games all invested on that account.

But what about the save file? I mean after you logged out the PNS acc, you need to start over everything?

as far as i know after log out the save file still intact locally... unless you delete it la....

i notice if pkgj titles if u delete, the save file also gone with it, so have to backup with vitashell.

not really rich but tjhe 2nd vita is 2nd hand. Manage to bought cheap ebay around rm350, the non 3g model.

save file are stored locally as long as u dont delete the data. btw i only play and bought the vita games that i really insterested and play on my 1st vita likes jrpg. others than than, download on pkgj on my 2nd vita

What if you login a new PSN acc, can you still access/load the previous PSN save file with the new acc?

RM350 is cheap, I would get it too. I don't have experience purchase from Ebay. Is the shipping process same as Amazon? just fill Malaysia address during the check out and the system will auto calculate the shipping fee based on the address?

my fat vita was collecting dust so many years... so i full charge it, then youtube learn how to install henkaku stuff, so mah hack it. also because of the SD2Vita adapter thing motivate me to hack. now no need worry space kurang.

Vita TV is more challenging to hack, coz u need to FTP, and the wifi is only 2.4G, luckily i got LAN cable, transfer more faster.

after install the whitelist plugin via autoplugin, you can install any vita games on vita tv....

if you're into psp games & vita games... why not.

runs well on native resolution.

also the 8 bit, 32 bit emulator runs ok on the system

but i check there is no upcoming games. latest games released few years ago

bcos Vita already discontinued... same like PS3 and coming soon PS4...
but it has many great games like
- Uncharted Golden Abyss
- Those ps2 remasters (god of war, FFX2, jak & daxter etc)
- Toukiden 1 & 2
- aiya bunch of others I lazy to list out all
you can search youtube on top 25 vita games, or top psp games.

if you buy one modded cheap, get the sd2vita adapter, buy 128gb or more micro sd card.
should be good enough.

enough for you to play until the machine rosak kao kao....

i still got my fat vita i bought in 2013, the OLED already burn brownish tint on edge but still good.

PSVita is my very first thing to buy when i got my first salary,totally love it, a big sentiment value to me.

2k this time, I miss the OLED screen, but the charging port 2k more ergonomic anyway so all good.

Yeah bought back because of sentimental value also. Still a lot of game to get back into.

recently i sold some of mine psvita physical games cheaply to clearout some space, kindda regret it but life must go on =(

Just activated back my old 2013 psvita 1k OLED.

Played FFX HD remaster as i am in hometown for a long period of time.

My original cable was kaput due to some part of cable got internal wires exposed. Bought a 3rd party cable via Shopee.

At first, my vita shown the orange light blinking. Then later it stabilized. Read at forums, it seems that my vita had totally discharged all the battery juice. Took nearly an hour to regain back to normal.

Then when trying to login to PSN, at first i cannot access due to i had to setup the 2FA verification + device setup password.
Afterwards, can login already.

Missing the good times playing Killzone Mercenary multiplayer. I played that to the death last time.
