Yeah, if you plan to play it anytime you're convenient, PS Vita version wouldn't hurt.
*
Pretty sad they don't have cross buy for this
Buying both is really expensive.
I got the ps4 version in the end as I think remote play is still ok when I have wifi and I heard for digimon... Loading time on ps4 is much much quicker.

Oh, I thought need somekind of router/Wifi to be in same network. So Psvita and Ps4 can connect directly.
*
I think it's better if you've a good local network. Best if can connect the ps4 via Ethernet. Both ps4 and vita uses 2.4GHz wireless....

Connecting via the Internet is possible as well.
I tried to remote play once when I was at my friend's place while my ps4 was back at my place. wifi connection was good enough that I didn't suffer any connection loss.

You still need local network for it to work for remoteplay. It doesn't magically work without no network.

Also anyone tried Remoteplay on pc?  hmm.gif
*
It's possible for the PS4 to directly connect to the VITA
https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/get-help/...-second-screen/
But it's usually not as smooth for me when compared to using a home wifi network. My router has a wider range and my PS4 is connected via ethernet anyway.

I've tried remote play onto my mac.
It's alright but it's limited to 720P though.
I don't really see a point...

Well, I can confirm you'll have no issue no use the same PSN account for both a PS Vita TV and PS Vita. Not 100% sure on 2 PS Vita though.
*
For example I pass one of my vita to my gf and have her play metal slug 3.
Will online coop be possible ?
Both signed into my account.

PSP games is possible if I remember. Most of the time, when you log in to multiplayer on one account it will disconnect the account from the other device. Even the PS Store and Trophies log you out if you are using two Vitas with the same account. So with 95% certainty, Vita games multiplayer is a no. Rare occasion like Spelunky works.

Reason why it might work with PSP games is because of adhoc mode. So no need to log into your account.
*
I see.
That makes sense.

Thanks.

You should be able to buy also from Lazada and 11Street. Currently, I'm having no issue charging my PS Vita (model 2000) using my smartphone fast charger and power bank. This should also be the same for the 1000 model, only that you need to have the cable from USB - PSV to replace the regular USB - Micro USB cable. PSV cables aren't that expensive (should be below RM30 per piece), and should work perfectly fine with recent stock smartphone chargers.
*
Yeah. I've charged my vita 1000 and 2000 via a power bank.

From my previous understanding, psvita 1000 required special adapter in order for powerbank to charge your vita, no?
*
The head is not micro USB but some proprietary head.
But the other end is your regular USB A head.
Plug that to any power bank and it'll work.
At least it worked with my xiaomi and eneloop power bank.

Don't say that, it's not stupid at all. Our previous experience with consoles are, they'll use proprietary connectors and cables. It's not that long since they start to change that, little by little. This is because the standard have gotten good enough and even better than the one that the console makers themselves are able to do.

P.S. : Some people didn't know you can charge both Dualshock 3 (PS3 controller) and Dualshock 4 (PS4 controller) to any smartphone charger or power bank too.
*
Just don't use a quick charger to charge the dualshocks.
Although it shouldn't happen, it's not uncommon for these quick chargers to fry the batteries in the dual shock 4.
Not sure if this is applicable to vita. But I'll try to avoid using quick charge as well.

How do you guys buy games for PS Vita? E.g physical copies, do you buy them online or at local shops? If the former, do you buy at Amazon, Play-Asia, or some other website? If latter, is there any retail shops that let you preorder stuff? I'm planning to buy DRV3, but not sure if PlayAsia is better overall for purchases.
*
I bought 90% of my games from psn.
Sometimes, like now, you get really great deals.
It's not just crappy games on sale, some of the best vita games are on sale now.

The other 10% is through the second hand market like Carousell.

I find physical shops or even Play Asia to be expensive.

Guys, know any trusted shop that can repair a Vita? Need to replace the analogue stick.
The thing become super sensitive all of a sudden after months of not playing.
*
Mine has some issue as well.
After a while, it will start drifting.

Hi guys

I bought a vita in Japan. It came with a adaptor for charging. I lost that. Can I use any other adaptor for it?
*
Which vita ?
Vita 2000 uses microusb so any common phone charger would work.

For vita 1000. There is a proprietary head.
However, if you have that. You can just connect that cable to a regular usb power adaptor/power bank.

Hey guys.. i am few years late.. is it worth to get a ps vita 2k? I dont gave ps4 though. Just want to have it when I’m on my long haul flight. 😅
*
VITA 2k is a bit dated though.
Comparing against the 3 current portable consoles (3DS, Switch, Vita), it’s definitely the least attractive.

PROs
- Price. It’s probably the cheapest it will ever be. Do try to source for it second hand for max value.
- Some JRPGs like Persona 4 Golden is a classic and very well optimized.
-compact size. It’s smaller than the switch. It’s not as thick as the 3DS.
- cheaper games and accessories. Memory cards used to be extremely expensive, now they’re just expensive.
- supports Bluetooth headphones

Cons
- Not many great games compared to 3DS. Many ports are not optimized. You get very bad frame rate.
- Sub HD screen
- Sony is going to discontinue it next year. You will not be seeing any new English games.

Im leaving the pirated portion out from this recommendation.
Since I don’t use that.
