I mostly do food photography.
Right now sigma realeased a affordable portrait lens

Cause the focal length doesn't differ much

Just one mean for macro and another mean for portrait.

I feel sigma 85 mm has certain advantages is big aperture and good image quality

The only downside is MFD one 85cm and one is 30cm for 100mm. But I checked the price... 85 mm is 2x 100mm price.....

I think in keeping my 100mm
*
show me what u mean with food shots taken to be at better quality by using bigger aperture lenses please smile.gif

i think what he meant is because the 100mm starts at f2.8, a prime that starts with f1.4 or f1.8 will be sharper if it is stop down to f2.8 smile.gif
*
actually by rite except for those artsy ones, most of food shots are taken at least f15 coz need them to be as sharp as possible for large size printing

QUOTE(munak991 @ Nov 15 2016, 09:51 PM)
Nah, just , my thoughts, but seeing the price tag. just to get extra aperture with 2x the cost. not worth thought

wei share some shots n see

Took a jump and got the 5Dmk4.
Reasoning :-
Too lazy to change systems. Lazy to sell off my lens when I still need to use them

Also, I won't be shooting 4K anytime soon.
Editing rig not built for it.

Right now I'll need to upgrade my Lightroom. My Lightroom 4 cannot read the raw files.
Certainly don't feel like paying a few hundred more after spending so much on the body....

Haven't really use it yet.
So far only notice shutter sound is different haha.

I'm sure the autofocus will be way better than My 5D2 /!: 6D. Missed a few shots due to the slow af speed.

Will install magic lantern and cinestyle today.

Still pissed that their video files is extremely large. 10x larger than the Sony a7r2.

Sincerely hope I don't regret this choice haha.
Certainly less excited when compared to the time I got my first dslr, 500D 7 years back and first FF 5D2 5 years back.

Expecting this camera to pay itself off in a few months time from the video projects I get.

hmmm, u never consider 5d3 meh?

QUOTE(MooTikPin @ Dec 8 2016, 10:10 AM)
Played with one two days back, I feel even the 1080 is much sharper now

And the lowlight is cleaner

My friend bought one mostly for his Indian wedding videography work
*
ooo, never had the chance to play with 1 yet wink.gif

Well.
Some say yes, but it is very marginal.
The reason it's big it's not because it sustains the quality, but rather it is inefficient.

Eh boss, u do so many videos, got any spare fluid head that u wanna dispose mou? 😅

Haha.
Not really. Still using those fluid heads.
Got them several years back and they're still performing really well. So didn't find a reason to upgrade it.

I got those fluid heads second hand as well haha. Nothing wrong with trying to save money. Photo/video stuff are generally built like a tank.

In fact, most of the items I purchase are second hand.
I am getting a samyang 14mm T/3.1 lens second hand later as well. Just hope there will be no fungus/defects haha.

all my gears that i am using today are used too! lol

by the way, what head u using? am looking at Yunteng, seems like quite a bargain

Well. Any pan heads will be way way better than a ball head. Besides, dslr are a lot lighter than a full size video cam. So even cheap ones are not that bad when used with a dslr.

I have like 2 China micro fluidic head.
One to the tripod mount and another which is a ball joint.

I mainly use an inexpensive manfrotto 128 rc microfouidic panhead. It's good enough and light enough.

Of course. All my system have a rc2 mount on it so I can easily swap tripods/stabilizer/etc on the go.

cool, let me try to post some videos soon, gonna be an exciting 2017 smile.gif

I've used yunteng.  It's fine and does the job.  In video usually moving slower usually gets good results.

Sometimes I call it video tai chi.  Cuz many people get easily excited and move it too fast.
