Hi guys... i am geting 80D in August when i am back in Malaysia. Looks like there are some good feedback about the lenses. 24-105 F4L IS and 50mm F1.8 are the right combinations. ACCE and YL in Times Square ar preferred? Thanks for the advice

How I wish to have it. Full Frame always the best but that is way above the budget. Have to reach to Pro level before I can invest with this unit

i've been using canon from 2011 and about to invest in some upgrade
i was planning to get the new 80d but as i did some research on other brand such as a6300 and gh4
im not sure if 80 is worth it   

my work is 70% potraits 30% video
thoughts? 

here are my current setup btw
550d+kit18-55, 10-18mm, 50mm f1.8, yong nuo 560-iv, meike mk950ii

so i just bought a new 80d and was quite shock to find that canon can be so cheapskate lol they don't even give you a usb cable to transfer photos from your cam to the pc.

i downloaded their EOS utility app in PC but the transfer process is too slow, it took me 45 min - 1 hour just to transfer 25 RAW + jpg images.

normally where u guys get the camera cable for pc? or you opt for memory card reader?

don't even bother with transferring images using usb cable. get a cheap card reader and you will wonder why you didn't do that earlier.

haha that's the best part, luckily my laptop has a built in one.

going to jump back to Canon very soon, needs the video capability

some XXXD body i guess, coupled with a general zoom/ UWA, still deciding. basically a big downgrade from my previous system because of spending half of the original budget on other hobby ( cycling ).

if jump to a6300 or GH4, means change system. If you willing to sell all / most of your setup & really need those features in that system, why not?

Last I talk with Tamron distributor, they said Tamron lenses do have issue on Canon body but no issue with Nikon body.

I've been using the 15-85 for some 5 years now and no regret, the lens is still with me even though I sold of my cameras.

The 15-85 is the best APS-C lens in my book. Some say 17-55 is better but do consider that 15-85 goes wider, has more reach, newer tech (better IS and optics) and costs far less.

I'm using Nikon 24-120 on Nikon D750 and guess what, focal length seems similar but feels like 15-85 at the focal length i like seems to have less distortion.

IQ wise of course on my setup is better.
