I sent it to Canon Service Center at Glenmarie this morning, and was immediately told that the camera cannot be serviced or repaired, as parts are no longer available (no longer manufactured by Canon). The lady behind the counter thinks its the shutter that is causing the issue (it lasted abt 10 shots before Error 99 happens, and error resets itself after a shutdown).
I am not sure how much it cost to replace the shutter mechanism, but it may still be cheaper than investing in a xxD body, wouldn't it be? I am just an occasional photog, not a serious one. Any ideas if there's a reasonably priced xxD body around?

Hey guys, want to ask your experience and opinion on used DSLR.
Stumbled upon an used DSLR online and kind of attracted. It's claimed to be Malaysia set but over warranty.
But one of the picture at the bottom shows the serial number sticker has been scratched, until only half of the number is still intact, the 2nd half is completely gone.
Seller also provided a print screen from computer software showing the shutter count and full serial number.
I have called Canon Malaysia and verified that the camera represented by that serial number is indeed matching the model (but i do not think this is sufficient evidence to claim it is that camera exactly, imagine I use someone else print screen from the same model, it merely shows no contradiction at this point).

So my questions:

1) Half torn serial number sticker on camera body, is it a suspicious thing?
Why I ask so because in oversea forum I have read user bought used lens and then afterward only realize the serial number has been scratched off purposely. Further investigation reveal it is a stolen unit, which left the guy who just bought it in an ethic dilemma.
But when I call Canon Malaysia they told me it is possible that the sticker get torn because it is just a piece of paper.
Camera is 5 yrs old.

2) Will a camera with such half torn serial number sticker affects the selling price when the body is to be sold again?

Curious to know how is the photography community in Malaysia treat this kind of thing.

It's actually from a shop, they selling online also.
Shop has been around for some time, but i never deal with them before.
Price wise looks normal, not very much cheaper for such SC  and age.

Will you personally decline to buy used camera if the serial is torn?

by the way, what i would love to see would be canon coming out with something that can rival fuji xt2 or even something like a6500, coz the way i see the minimal upgrades they add into the ff these days are really not worth investing

is it me or somehow i feel that 6D is pretty slow in tracking fast moving subjects, ie kids moving around?

was shooting at a rate of 1/200 and Servo focusing, but out of 10, only like 3-4 was ok, others all koyak...

Hi.. Regarding my flash (430ex ii). When the flash is on, the pilot button is red & the my camera seems to recognize it since when i shot to test, the green/yellow light below the pilot did light up. But the flash won't fire..
Whats the problem?

Guys, I kinda confuse which lens should I choose.

Tamron SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC   or    Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM

Both are within my budget and compare the photos I can't tell also which are better which is not right to judge from there.
Anyone using any of these two lens? Can share your experience??

I got a Canon EF-M 22mm f2.0. Was wondering what kind of shots I can take with it (on APSC sensor). It seems very versatile and I cant find creative ways to use it. (Compared to fish-eye 7.5mm for environment, 50mm for portrait bokeh). I keep wanting to use the other two

Sifu here again to ask some advice??? Been loving to take landscape photos with my 760D + 10-18mm stm and i need advixe for a good low budget square filters that i can use? Can i use Cokin P series filters or cokin z pro on my 10-18mm? And is there a problem if i use it on 10mm? Any advice for other brands with thesame price range?

Got a new 6D today, very very satisfied. Totally an underrated Camera. Tested out dynamic range, pretty close and some even better than my 5d mark iii.

Love the WiFi feature direct transfer photo. Very useful for event shoot.

Haven't tried the GPS yet. Mid point autofocus also very fast and accurate, even in low light situations too.
The only problem I have is the screen tends to be greenish. I don't know why, when compared to 5d mark iii side by side, the 6D screen is greenish tint.
