This is the mindset that HLB bet on, and arrogantly reject AF waiver.
As the requirement is 10x RM50, they have minimum secured RM500 transactions per customer.
Must show consumer power. When more and more terminate, they will be desperate.
*
They will be more happy if you cancel the card.

Hi All,

I just receive call from the HLB branch ask me to collect my credit cards there.

But I told them I already collected my cards few months back and never apply again.
Anyone of you face this problem?

I just check HL Connect, it is called I'M Master Card. I know is new card but i never apply that.
*
If you apply your card from booths, this is normal.
Consider lucky as they never help you to apply a rm1M loan.
I know the booth agents always has nice looking girls to trap men while handsome guys trapping girls, but sum of all scams start from your IC sometimes.

Hi all Wise user ... I just got my card .. I have called CS to ask this question too but I need confirmation here ... I've gotten wrong answers from CS before ...

According to him, the cashback resets on 1st of every month and not according to statement date ... is this true ? Thanks
*
Is true in some sense, but to make the cash back effective and you can get full rm100 all the time, the cash back are calculated based on transaction posting date.
And for each transaction to be posted, it will be T+1,2,3,4 and sometimes can take up to 9 days. Merchant are not fooling around with this as they are doing daily closing, more on the terminal and HLB fooling around with this. So last transactions shall be done 5-7 days before.
CS never wrong, just that you need to understand how they play their game, as they are paid to mislead you.

This is very interesting information .. thanks for sharing ... i never had this problem with other CC ... so i guess you're saying it's "best" to spend 1k by lets say 20th (if I can) in order to secure the full cash back right? Coz if we're spending it on the 28th or 29th, the posting date may already past to the next month ...
*
Nope, total spending is rm985, with all 3 categories must end with rm5, mine are something like petrol rm345, mobile rm225, groceries rm415.
Well, if last transaction is on 20th, I would say it is a bit extreme unless you have other cash back cards as spare.
Considering the terminal company can double charge(already 3 times for my MBB cards within 6 months but they refund after 1 week), so in actual they can also manipulate the posting date.
Some may say I simply come out with "must complete all transactions by so and so date", but this is my experience on the 1st year when using HLB card. That time I always complete my transactions toward end of month but with this move, I can't get full rm100 and sure get lesser. Later found out that if cash back reached rm100, the next transaction sure will be posted earlier, but if cash back not reached rm100, then it will be later doh.gif Best was 9 days until I went to that petrol station and ask him on that, he even showed me the proof that he got the money on 2nd day after he did the settlement.
Guess HLB getting complaints on this issue and they improve the posting system, still it takes 3 days and very rare 4 days.

Thanks. Is there a specific cycle or date for the annual fee?

Or is it 12 months from application date?
*
You get the card will be charged directly, then waived.
The AF is you pay first then only can use.
This will be my 4th year using this card.

telco is under mobile which is under bonus category so no problem. for other bill payments, you may try to pay at sam groceria under grocery.
*
This is so misleading, telcos including TM but why it gives your hair as cash back when we are paying TM's bills?
Even in HLB's T&C also stated clearly as mobile only doh.gif

Thanks for the info.

I got another question. Let's I already swiped 10 times, then I pay TNB bill RM300 in single swipe, RM300 would entitled 10% cash rebate of RM30? (Assuming I'm still not over the RM100 cap yet)
*
Only mobile are entitled for cash back.

any one have idea about Maluri AEON? is under groceries or departmental?

They are swapping around the terminals, so nobody will tell.
When I shop in Aeon, I only use AMEX, not other groceries cash back cards.

TM is not mobile telco now.... maybe in next few weeks when TM announces their mobile plans
*
If paying to Telco now I can get real money cash back, then I stand corrected, else you are still wrong, 2 can't twist the fact.
Also, cash back entitlement are determined by HLB, not by merchants.
BTW, maybe in next month HLB will revise the cash back benefits, same like what you says : maybe in next few weeks when XXXX announces XXXX.
Some jokers mentioned that HLB will be revising cash back 2 months back, but surprisingly I'm still getting rm100 until now whistling.gif

My example is assuming i chose the utilities category.
*
Nope, always read carefully on HLB's T&C, is the first page of the thread tells the actual story? Nope, about 90% are right, 10% of the content are wrong, since it is copy and paste.

Merchants are the one determining what MCCC to register. HLB determines which MCCC gets cashback, and for this card its already established. If TM starts charging under mobile MCCC then can get cash-back.
*
Yup, you are pretty right, like I'm buying groceries in Aeon S2 using Public bank's VS I'm getting cash back while using this card I'm getting a hair from HLB, same terminal as I did a marking on that terminal.
And coincidentally, under HLB's T&C, Aeon S2 are not included in the list, so yup, you are right on this, merchant determine MCC(when sun rises from west) whistling.gif

HLB wise's TNC is very simple as well, it just wrote Electricity and Water in Utilities category. Din't mention if I pay in pos office can entitle? Or must pay in TNB's outlets to entitled the cash rebate. Or perhaps there is another TNC document that I missed?

Other option to know about it is actual users' input or ask the bank through the hotline. Some of the agents might not be trustworthy as they are trying to push you the card.

If the 10% of content is inaccurate, perhaps you can inform TS and get it updated. Contribution is what makes the community better.
*
HLB's CS agent are quite good on bringing you round the garden. From you not sure become don't know doh.gif
Paying on POS office I doubt you can get(and they accept cash only, at least for Seremban)
Already asked, but he refuse to. So that 10% own self dig out with try and error mega_shok.gif

Cash back are given base on rounding up figures. Spend rm10 you get rm1 cash back, spend rm5 you get rm1 also.

Aeon supermarket is under grocery, I did bought Aeon voucher at Aeon Cheras Selatan customer counter opposite Supermarket and get CB under groceries. But now they don't accept CC anymore.
*
Do come to S2 Aeon to test it out. Aeon supermarket are not all entitled for groceries cash back. Do dig back 2013-2014 threads.

Do you mean S2 Aeon Supermarket not groceries? As mentioned, I did tested on the Aeon Cheras Selatan only. Maybe you can share your experience to us smile.gif
*
Yes you are right, any card also entitled for cash back but not this card. That's why they never state Aeon sure can get cash back. They only "release" certain Aeon supermarkets after some complaints.

genxgenygenz has a good write up regarding WISE on HOW TO OPTIMIZE EARNING CASH BACK WITH THE HONG LEONG BANK WISE CREDIT CARD
Good to refer.

http://genxgenygenz.com/2016/01/15/hong-le...rd-review-2016/
*
After reading it, my jaw dropped doh.gif
The example 1 is plainly bias and misleading.
This card must get rm100 every month of cash back only worth to apply. Or at least getting rm80, else other 5% cash back card are way better. Maybank's Ikhwan for example.
As for example 2, it can't apply to other places, even now 99Speedmart does not allow paying utiltiies with credit cards. Still I was able to pay in advance rm2000 for 6 bills I'm holding, just 1 day before they put a full stop on this.

"So from what fruitie posted above, you may (I am not sure, you got to go try it yourself) get 10% cash back with the HLB WISE credit card under the Groceries category for your Unifi, Astro and Touch n Go at Sam’s Groceria."
*
It refers to Sam's. Do other states have Sam's? No right. So it can't consider as good example.

What is the last column details which was not in ur screenshot?

If no more 10x requirement, it is good for the 10% cashback on insurance auto debit which most bank didn't have much cashback for insurance.

Dept store > need to find AEON store where the customer service counter which locate at dept store to buy voucher to entitle for 10x RM50 transaction
*
That if they are really using terminal that registered under Departmental. Remember, they are swapping around the terminals every now and then.

I believe uobpayonline will not consider as online because currently e.g TNB syabas under utility and Maxis, Digi under mobile
If Posonline consider as online and cb 10%, I'll still using this card.
*
For people that having more than 1 cash back cards like PBB's VS, paying using uobpayonline are getting cash back as online transaction.
Will uobpayonline selectively choose MCC? I doubt so.
Also considering shopping in S2 Aeon supermarket does not entitled for groceries cash back(even with other cash back card are getting cash back under groceries) for the same terminal, I smell some salt whistling.gif

Petro and groceries shall be removed, why need to keep under sure cash back give out? Remember, is we that boasting openly that choosing groceries can do wonders comparing to other categories.
That's why I don't simply boast that 99speedmart can use credit payment for all E-pays.

Are you in the consumer side or what? They should keep the sure-cashback-out since there are other cards still giving out. Reducing to 5% is still ok but totally write off is like telling hlb dont mind ppl dump this card
*
You shall know that banks only charges 0.5-2%(while AMEX 4.5%) to merchants. For petro station operators, they once fight for 0% fees from banks.
So for every rm1 spent(upto rm985), banks are losing money. It won't stay long for high cash back, is matter of time they take back or revise it.
Will you do lose money business? For short term maybe, but for long term, I'm sure you won't.
