QUOTE(carbnb @ Jul 15 2017, 06:20 AM) Just thought of sharing this whether u have or don't have this MBB cards yet. Maybe this can give u some information and would be interesting to know if this is the same for u. Did you need to submit any payslips or EA form for the credit limit increase? I kept asking for it and they kept giving me a temporary one. Am at 30k limit where my citibank is at 80k which is kinda ridiculous.Personally, I use Maybank 2 Cards Premier the most and yet my credit limit is not the highest as compared to other cards I hold. I think Maybank is very stingy (careful) with the credit limits! 1. I got my cards 2 years ago when I declare an income of slightly over RM120k (the eligibility requirement). Credit limit was given at RM40k then. Before that, I have been using the Maybank 2 Platinum Card since 2011 and it has always been at RM30k but then I never submitted any request for more limit. 2. Last year, I declared less than RM120k income, but when I request for a permanent credit limit, I was given an additional RM10k limit to RM50k. 3. This year, still declaring nothing more than RM120k, I am given yet another RM10k as well to a total of RM60 limit. What is your experience with permanent credit limit request with Maybank? Happened so that this is tied with this 2 cards but for comparison, my basic Citibank Clear card which I use only 3 or 4 times a month just to buy Coffee Beans - buy 1 free 1 has double the limit of Maybank. And I thought "Visa Infinite" card and all would be easier on the credit limits. |

QUOTE(carbnb @ Jul 23 2017, 11:54 PM) Yes. You can either use 3 months payslips / EPF or use EA form. I actually submitted everything as you mentioned but they rejected as well. LOL.Request for permanent increase twice a year. Once after u got your EA form. The other using your payslips. Payslips is relatively easy I guess. This is what u can do: Make 3 months where u really transfer the money into your savings for each month consecutively: Gross pay RM 10,000.00 Deductions RM 1,891.65 Net pay RM 8,108.35 Company contribution EPF RM 1,200.00 LHDN RM 1,091.65 This means to show the bank you have RM10k income, bank in Nett RM8108.35 to your savings, RM1.2k to your EPF and another RM1,091.65 for your PCB. Do this 3 months. Transfer within the first week every month the exact amount. OR If you have decent amount from your EA form (Say already 120k there), just submit that ONE piece of EA form is enough already! |

QUOTE(alextan333 @ Jul 25 2017, 02:26 AM) You don't really need temporary increase.. We can transfer more than the balance owed into the card? I know Citibank can but once I tried to do for Maybank, they did not allow me to transfer more than the total amount owed for the card. :S Prolly good to try again. There's one time I bought something about RM40k+ and my credit limit is 30k.. The trick? Just transfer money to your credit card and the limit increases to 40k =) Without even need to call the bank. Of course this means you need to have cash on hand |

QUOTE(mfa97 @ Oct 8 2017, 10:01 AM) Hi all, just a quick question.. where does the amex reserve stand in amex portfolio, is it considered a platinum card? Secondly, can we get access into the centurion lounge with this card? thank you. Not too sure where it stands but it doesn't really matter these days. As far as Centurion lounge....lol.......Base on the name itself..... You must be really high up in the food chain to enter...Case in point: https://thepointsguy.com/2017/09/limited-ce...-lounge-access/ |

QUOTE(chiahau @ Oct 9 2017, 04:38 PM) It actually matters coz the Amex Reserve has a limit while the Amex Centurion does not have one What's upper middle class these days?![]() Basically to enter the Centurion Lounge, I think the Amex Platinum Charge card allows that. Centurion is not really super hard to get invited. I have few friends who are just upper middle class but they received a call to join the Centurion club 1 year ago or so. https://www.thecenturionlounge.com Amex Platinum Charge Card and Centurion only to be eligible. Sydney's Amex lounge is not the Centurion lounge. |

QUOTE(chiahau @ Oct 9 2017, 04:58 PM) Upper middle class = Basically people who can afford to splurge? Hmmmmmm yeah...lol...just curious what is the definition of can afford to splurge these dyas....those earning 2 k can afford to splurge too...ahaha![]() Just saying that the criteria for a Centurion is not fixed unlike MBB Visa Diamante for example. You can get your way for a Centurion if you can rake up those charges and pay them on time. And afford the heft invitation fees. |

QUOTE(limeuu @ Jun 20 2018, 10:26 PM) Hmm... obviously they failed to note that it was a supplementary card.... interesting potential loophole....lol For krisflyer, they are pretty tight on account audit these days and if selected for audit, they would require your receipt of transfer. They do match the account address with the krisflyer address. Name I think it's okie to be a supplementary card as long as everybody is staying under the same roof. |

QUOTE(corad @ Jun 20 2018, 10:04 AM) so when overseas is it better to use AMEX or VISA ? both will have 5x yes ? And how does one check the conversion rate beforehand ? I usually just rotate both....ahah......never check but the convenience of not lugging a huge amount of cash is worth the little extra charged on credit cards. |
