QUOTE(charlesj @ Apr 28 2019, 01:33 AM) Yea, it is down to individual preference. Wow, you have close to 6 digit CL! I did some research / calling CS before paying via EzyPay (which is the only option to use CC, else only cash/cheque). The fund supposed to pay one shot are now sitting in my FD, comforting me for the missing 1x TP. Regarding cashback or air miles, you have to choose either one, I have now given up all cashback and solely focus on maximizing air miles. you can maximize cashback and air miles at the same time as well.

QUOTE(knwong @ May 3 2019, 12:36 AM) Don't get so agitated. Here's what the expectation of a Premium CS should be - and MBB should learn from this. I'm currently holding AMEX Ascend from SG. Everytime I call their hotline, the CS will ask the first question: How was your day, Mr. Wong? When I shared mine, I'll generally return the question. The CS will shared his/hers. From their reply, they are all GENUINE. A TRUST is established from there on. As a customer I feel comfortable and relaxed talking with them. Not some scripted line. You should listen how they ended their call - pleasant goodbye and well wishes This is the minimum requirement of CS regardless of what business they are into. But too bad lousy CS is all around due to tolerance, culture, policy, politic, etc.

QUOTE(digidigi @ May 7 2019, 11:13 PM) Enrich is the FFP of malaysia airline, malaysia airline is a member of one world Krisflyer is the ffp of Singapore air, Singapore air is a member of star alliance Asia miles is the ffp of Cathay Pacific, Cathay Pacific is a member of one world thank you for this more direct direction, now it clear out some of my confusion. my further question, can I use Krisflyer to redeem anyone of the star alliance airline ticket and Asia Miles/Enrich to redeem anyone of the oneworld alliance airline ticket?

QUOTE(charlesj @ May 7 2019, 11:32 PM) Generally yes but answer isn't that straight forward. Some airlines will have different clauses and of course different miles required. I will suggest you aim for their own redemption (kf redeem sia, am redeem Cathay), after getting familiar only look into partner airlines. Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines can board at KL or need to go to HK / SG to transit? QUOTE(digidigi @ May 7 2019, 11:44 PM) Maybe u can tell us how many miles u have and where u want to go, and whether u have any preferences, I will give some suggestion instead of deciding now where to go, I better convert all my TP to air miles before the TP devalues.

QUOTE(limeuu @ May 8 2019, 12:20 AM) kf is region based redemption, so the miles should be the same whether starting from kul/pen/bkk or sin...of course you will fly first to sin to connect the main flight.... am i think some additional miles needed for the kul-hkg leg...... mean CP and SA need to fly to respective headquarter first before main flight.

QUOTE(limeuu @ May 8 2019, 12:29 AM) of course lah, it's the same for all airlines....you fly to europe with the me3, have to transfer at bxb/doh/auh....it's call their home hub.... ok noted. thanks a lot understanding this, KF is a better option than AM because Singapore is nearer btw, what is connecting partner? and, in order to redeem points, firstly we need to create a KF/AM account, right? QUOTE(herc @ May 8 2019, 08:37 AM) Partner airlines, like SQ with NZ or MH with EK, they are not in the same Alliance, but code sharing their flights etc. Yes, u need to create the FFP account before u redeem your treatpoints to miles. Stick to 1, u will be less headache. ok. now code sharing pula. anyway, you guys are using short name that I don't understand. ok nvm. I did some own research and note that you guys are using the IATA for each airlines. This post has been edited by skty: May 8 2019, 12:39 PM

QUOTE(tohff7 @ May 8 2019, 01:00 PM) Since everyone is asking about which to convert, I guess i'll ask as well. Originally intends to go London/Paris for honeymoon in 2020, but with some major attractions being closed/burnt down for renovation, now looking at other destinations. If not redeeming KF will be the easiest way For Eastern Europe - Budapest, Vienna, Prague. AM or EM = Oneworld alliance either with QR or BA KF = got flight from KL via Turkish Airlines Anyone have experience? KF or AM/EM better? QR world ranking no.2 TK world ranking no.18 BA world ranking no.31 Depending you wanna save miles or enjoy experience.

QUOTE(herc @ May 8 2019, 01:39 PM) Avoid BA. Both QR and TK hard product is good, I would pick either 1 depends on the timing and availability. Both lounges at home hub is superb too, and IST is a new airport Yup. Also depends on whether wanna transit in Doha or Turkey.

QUOTE(limeuu @ May 8 2019, 09:32 PM) I have a problem. My wife's VI is due May. Because of concerns she may not make the 50k spend, I clarified with private banking about this and told the spend period is 1 may 2018 to 30 April 2019. I note end of last month it was short of about 4k, so on 27th I top up BP with 4.2k making it over 50k. However the annual fee was charged on the same date 27th. I called CS and they said spend calculation is until 27th, and the final spend is not valid!!! I have appealed to the card centre, but they have rejected my appeal. What are my options now? How are people to know they calculate based on the 27th of month instead of calendar month? And I actually clarified this with the bank officer who told me calender month!! your option is cancel the card to avoid annual fee payment.

QUOTE(Jack128 @ May 11 2019, 12:27 PM) For eg if match is played at 2am Malaysia time on Monday we should be topping up anytime on Sunday ? All local time due to the usual EPL match schedule, which is normally on UK AFTERNOON, the easiest way is to IGNORE the time and see purely on the DATE. All your spending that can be entitled for 5X if MU win should be spend on the SAME DATE as UK DATE regardless of TIME DIFFERENCES. If the match is on UK DATE 12/5/2019, then you need to spend on MALAYISA DATE 12/5/2019. and if you are so stubborn and want to use TIME as a reference, then you take MALAYSIA match time MINUS 7 HOURS. If after MINUS 7 HOURS the date still fall on the same day, then spend on the same day. if after MINUS 7 HOURS the date is one day earlier, then all the spending must be on one day earlier.
