I am looking to earn miles point and RM800/year should be ok.
*
If you need to pay RM 800 a year on the AF then the card is not for you. The miles you earn for spending less than the free AF qualification is not worth the RM 800 you need to pay. Go for other free for life VI or WMC such as ambank if you want to collect miles. It also comes with unlimited PPL access.

If you're gonna use it for utilities or petrol, i'd suggest an alternative which is the MBB Krisflyer Gold Card. AF is lower and chances are if your spending is high on the card, you can call in to get a waiver.

I have a question, sorry if it's been covered already... How long does it take to convert my treatpoints to asia miles or krisflyer miles?
based on my experience, asia miles and krisflyer takes about 3 - 7 working days for transfer to show up.. I've had a krisflyer miles conversion not showing up until 2 weeks after transaction. it seems that they submit the conversion application by batches and it depends on luck.

The fastest transfer i've experienced so far is with enrich.. request today morning, next day already credited to Enrich.

it's the best conversion for Malaysian cards around.. let us know if you can find better..

VI earns x2 points for local transaction. So it's about RM 2.38 = 1 Mile
AR earns x5 points for local transaction. Rate is RM 0.95 = Mile

Have you read their T&C? It's one of the most confusing ones in the world.
*
I cut my HSBC card in front of the pyramid sign up counter in protest of false information during sign up. Bloody hell, before sign up, semua pun boleh.. after sign up, the T&C keep changing and restrict...

Points earning also limited.. i do one transaction already max out the earning. Worse still, it's based on first come first serve from a limited pool of points.

definitely a scam email.

why not drop by a branch or mbb card center like gardens or mv to chk. Usually, if rejected by system, you'll need to wait 3 months to resubmit unless they ask for supplementary documents to strengthen your case.

Hi all Sifus,

Maybe this question was answered before. I tried to search through the thread but couldn't find an answer for this.

Question: I currently have say 300k treatpoints earned from other MBB cards. If I get Maybank 2 Cards Premier, will I be able to convert the whole 300k points to airmiles at the Maybank 2 Cards Premier's lower 4,770 TP to 1,000 miles conversion rate? Thanks.
*
you need to cancel off all other mbb card, request to transfer the treatspoint to the 2CP. after that only do the conversion.

i did a transfer from my wife supp card to her asiamiles account and it went through. Tot of giving it a try and was expecting it to not go through. However, the miles did go through the next day. Call the customer service and give them the supp card acc number. Just don't tell them its a supplimentary card. as long the card name and asiamiles name match they allow through.

I suspect this is because supp card TP earning is under their own pool hence the process went through.

Not sure if it'll work with enrich or krisflyer.

I have always been an Enrich frequent flyer but since last year began accumulating KF miles. What is your experience with regards to the waitlist? When do you get confirmation the seats are secured? Difficult to plan travel when you don't even know if the tickets are secured...  sad.gif
*
I just redeemed a whole bunch of KF miles for a trip to Europe last week. Availability TBH is touch and go and it depends on which routes you're flying to. SQ releases award seats for booking 355 days from departure. For popular routes and on business class, u need to book either way ahead or last minute. also, the day of flight plays a big role for availability. For example, i booked from KUL - SIN - ZHR, and i found available seats on Tuesday and Thursdays for the few weeks at the end of March and early April. I also think for far ahead booking >7 or 8 months, SQ releases only 2 J class award ticket for booking because after i booked my seats, the next J booking became under waitlist. Closer to flight date, if seats are not sold, SQ will release the seats for award booking hence waitlist would be cleared. I'd advice to keep trying different dates and flight combination. Sometimes, if you search KUL - LHR, the flight might show up as waitlist, but if you search SIN - LHR, the flight may be available. This is due to insufficient award space for the KUL - SIN sector which is hard to get. If that's the case, it's easier to just buy a air asia ticket to hop over to SIN to catch the outbound flight. Once you have the dates down, if you're booking multicity booking, call their call center to get them to piece together the sectors under one ticket for easier management. I'd say their call center is top notch if you have all the details down. Total took me like 15 mins to settle all the booking... My previous experience with Enrich took me almost 45 mins and after multiple calls to make one booking.

Playing the miles game is all about flexibility and persistence. So far after redeeming Enrich, Asia Miles and Krisflyer, i find Krisflyer is the most straight forward and easier to find seat as compared to CX. Not to mention the cash outlay is also cheaper as there's no more surcharge on SQ metal. Looking forward to try the new A380 and singapore hospitality too.

if the amount is small, <2000 miles, i suggest to just forget about it.. the cost to transfer the miles is not worth it at all. cheaper to just buy a new air ticket.

i did do a redemption from my wife account (supp card) to her asiamiles acc and it went through. amount not much though, just 3 or 4k miles. The TP is under her supp card account number, i think that's why it went through. my wife did the call in and request directly from her acc. Not too sure if they've closed this loophole or just only applicable for asiamiles. Don't try it with big amount of points.

suppliers won't accept cc by paypal cos of the charges to them. unless they have existing credit card payment facility, most won't accept payment by card.

If your supplier is facebook or google ad platform... time to break out the champagne and enjoy your free flights. do keep in mind the mantra of "EARN & BURN". don't hoard your points as maybank may come and cancel your points as using the card for business purpose contravenes their t&c. I believe there's currently a court case on this...

Yes just checked PayPal fees. Doesn't make sense. What do you mean if my supplier is Facebook or google as platform ?

If you are running a digital media agency / ad agency, u need credit card to buy ads on google or fb (unless they already give terms). I know someone whon runs an ad agency earning 50 to 100k miles a month using this 2 cards.

Btw, on a side note. It is confirmed that maybank diamante VI card earns 5x tp irregardless of where the purchase is done. Its the BEST CARD around for high NW holders.

Hello guys, I want to know if I could use this card for my ad agency, mainly Facebook advertising, is there a limit I should keep below

As I saw the previous reply says that someone got a court case on this, what's the court case about? Is it simply just cancel or will it ask for a penalty based on how much air miles redeemed?
(The T&C says reserved the right to cancel, but what if it's used?)
Can I use this card to gain 5x TP on petrol?
*
If your amount is quite high (> RM 30k a month consistently on 1 vendor ie. facebook) then i suggest to get another card to alternate the billing. it's not foolproof and there's no guarantee that MBB will come after your points or leave u alone however they do have a clause in T&C that specifically says the card is not for business expenses. I think one way to overcome it is to earn and burn, (convert ur points every 2 or 3 months) so that it doesn't carry a big balance for them to terminate. Also don't carry any outstanding amount on the card or the interest fees will make it not worth it at all. Always pay off the card in full when get reimbursement from company.

my colleague had to learn a very hard lesson for spending the reimbursement money from Co instead of paying off the card.. previously use card for google & fb ads, when company reimburse, he pay partial only.. and spend the balance money on other stuff and speculative investments... in the end become unmanageable... credit card interest is so not worth it...

50k should be ok la.....
Spend and use, don’t bank the miles in Maybank for too long
*
like what he says, should be ok... just don't keep the points too long in MBB. I also spend for CO expenses, got a call from MBB to enquire on spending but i think it's more towards they are concern that i'm always hitting close to my card limit. Sometimes offer to increase my limit but want to verify documents. told them i'm happy with the current limit. I convert out my points every 4 - 5 months (depending on amount). so worst case is i lose that 4 months points only.

QUOTE(charlesj @ Aug 30 2018, 11:40 AM)
Only give x2 TP for Paypal in foreign currency when using VI. I had chosen currency converted by bank (pay in foreign currency), not by Paypal (pay in RM). Any suggestion?
*
Never ever select RM currency when paying for foreign currency. I think paypal uses DCC method for the currency conversion to reflect the charges in RM hence 2X points only. already had some disputes with maybank on this but they say it's out of their hands cos the charges report to MBB is in RM currency, not foreign currency.
I use amex if i need to purchase stuff via Paypal. If not mistaken, u need to inform mbb to allow amex transaction on paypal for your card.
