QUOTE(db07mufan @ Oct 2 2016, 12:32 PM) just confirm, when making payments through oversea companies, eg amazon.com, britishairways.com, overseas booking sites, payment via VI will give 5 X treatpoints? If in foreign currency, will be 5x, irrespective of type of payment, including education and gov agency....If processing is done overseas, even if in myr, also will be 5x...eg uber payments, agoda bookings.... |

Banks have never refused to reduce the limit when I request....with the caveat that in future should I want to increase the limit, they will want another round of proof of income....
There is however a minimum....and the recent RHB cc I got, the minimum they allowed me to drop to is 30k.... |

QUOTE(db07mufan @ Oct 4 2016, 03:52 PM) It depends how you value your treatpoints. For me, the sole plus of this card its it conversion value to FFP miles. 50000 TP equates to 10482 Asiamiles. Which equates to 'buying' miles at RM0.014 per Mile. yes, i believe genx did calculate this out before....and conclude that for the purpose of airmiles, it may be worth it....A return ticket in economy on Cathay from KL to Hong Kong costs 30000 Asiamiles +. That equals to RM420(miles value) + RM233(taxes), RM633 for a return ticket to HKG. Use it to redeem a Multi Carrier Award ticket in J/F the value rises exponentially. If anyone wants to buy a car and would not mind me swiping AMEX, please PM me I'll pay the 1.5% the worth is not very much for economy class redemption...best for business class... however, it only has value if it is replacement worth...ie, you intend to buy a business class ticket anyway, and then use miles to redeem...if you would otherwise just travel economy, then the worth may be a bit of $ saving (usually redemption cost will be less than an economy ticket), and a free class upgrade.... free class upgrade isn't much value to me, unless it's a long haul red eye.... |

QUOTE(tuckker @ Oct 11 2016, 03:57 PM) To convert treat points to enrich miles, must the treat points be under the reserve card, or can I also transfer my treat ponts from my platinum card to this reserve card to get the special rate of 1000 enrich = 4770 treat points? i didn't know they will allow such transfer as a routine....the only time they did this for me was when they upgraded my platinum card to the infinite....they transferred all my points over.... |

My trial bookings with kf redemption to destinations I want always yield waitlist. In that sense, kf is useless. Enrich always can get confirmed seats.
Have no reason to go to ist or jnb |

Japan must have a policy on surcharges on fares...so mas cannot add their exorbitant fuel surcharge....
With crudes and fuel so cheap, I don't know how mas justify their surcharges... |

bne is also always on the waitkist...
i redeem for specific purposes, not for "surprise me" type of holidays....mostly to australia and mainly bne and mel... i am holding back converting my points, as sq is difficult to get confirmed seats, and mh is cutting throat with miles and surcharges....cx is just too troublesome routing through hk.... |

Maybe policies have changed, but 2 years ago, when I got a principal card for my wife, whose income was just a bit over 10k short of the minimum, I was asked to pledge the card limit, not the difference in income...and now the eligibility income has dropped 1/3, still never gave back my FD....

QUOTE(JC_jun @ Oct 18 2016, 09:35 PM) same thing, they ask me to terminate the card so i can take back the FD, then apply back in 6 months technically, there is no more need for the FD, since income is now way above the requirement....maybe i will ask about this....better take advantage of the gia promotion.... |

My experience trying out kf redemption has been negative....never could find confirmed seats to Australia....always wait list....
And for all of enrich 's flaws, there are almost always confirmed seats available in most sectors.... |

QUOTE(dctravels @ Oct 19 2016, 07:34 PM) How far in advance can you book? Destinations MEL/SYD? For how many pax? I managed 4 saver level award tickets (J & F) for my family SIN-MEL//SYD-SIN in August next year. I have also managed to book a few weeks/months out travelling to China/India. was looking in july for december this year....just 2 tickets....to mel....The fact that there are "almost always confirmed seats available" on MH should tell you something. Hate to be a party pooper but I've tried the refurbished J seats. One word: tight. Cannot compare to their excellent J product on the A380. Better than the sloping seats of old but still, a far cry from SQ, QR or CX J. The recent removal of the 15% online booking discount is the proverbial straw that broke this camel's back: I'm burning my remaining Enrich miles redeeming on partner airlines, the inevitable nightmare of an experience with MH call centre notwithstanding. End rant. got the mh j instead...but unfortunately just before the sale...so burnt double points in the process.... as to the new j seats....will see in december...but yes, the a380 j seats was great....but not for long more....when they receive the new 350s, they will stop flying the 380s....and i doubt if the j in 350s will be like the 380s.... as to partner airlines, not much options to down under... |

QUOTE(dctravels @ Oct 20 2016, 06:50 AM) I plugged in 14 December and could get 2 saver level awards on the A380 to Melbourne. Could also get 2 seats but on Standard level for the trip back after 1 or 2 weeks' stay. Total miles: 246,500 or 123,250 KF miles per person. For December I think you need to be realistic and book way in advance. QUOTE(Jack128 @ Oct 20 2016, 09:06 AM) 123K KF miles KL -MEL is pretty steep compared to enrich no? But then it's the A380 so warrants the premium? i presume journey starts from kul?....july looking at December not advance enough?...it is not always possible to plan so far ahead.... and yes, 123k miles is steep.... |
