QUOTE(herc @ Sep 19 2016, 08:17 AM) Hi herc,, how are you getting along with your tnb bills? Still running them 20x at the grocers? I find that just too much of a hassle and using the HL VI instead. Rm2.80 =1EM so not fantastic. Looking at other oprions so it will be great if you can share any updates. Thanks! |

QUOTE(Tigerr @ Oct 3 2016, 11:35 AM) one trick to earn TNB bill with 5x TP is to pay using MU VI and u hope MU win the night EPL games. so choose the day when MU play a weaker EPL team n go pay a substantial amount of TNB bills or pay some in advance. not sure if govt expenses can also qualify for that bonus TP or not though.... Are you serious about the bonus points if MU wins a match? Only on match day I suppose. Anyway I don't follow the EPL so really have no interest to keep track of that...I used to pay 10k tnb bills every month just with a click of button thru maybank2u and enjoy 5x points but that's all history now |

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Oct 3 2016, 05:23 PM) Have you considered cards like HLB Fortune (someone recently revived a thread on this) to pay significant TNB bills? Not sure what your usage requirements are, but it gives 1% on almost any spend except govt and JOMPay as long as you spend more than RM2k per month. However, cap at RM50 (so effectively up to 5000 spending per month) BUT they have bonus cash back upon hitting annual thresholds so you could still get cashback on spending above 5000. A little complicated to explain here but it's clear if you visit the HLB page itself. Can discuss in more detail on that thread. thanks for sharing. I already have the HL VI card and i try not to keep 2 cards from the same bank (exception of mbb 2 cards premier). I use jompay w HL for tnb bills, but it seems that jompay does not qualify for points? Strange, as I have been getting enrich miles credited automatically every month from HL. |

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Oct 4 2016, 03:52 PM) Strange. The announcement says effective 16 June 2016. I learned the hard way because I had been getting 1% on DBKL and Pos Online, and suddenly one month I received ZERO cashback. Called them and said change in terms. Some dude on the HLB Fortune thread reported nearly 2% annual returns on his HLB Fortune (after including the annual bonus). What if you swipe at the counter? Also zero cash back? So what are you doing now to get the most out of your bills? |

QUOTE(kelvintt @ Oct 5 2016, 10:02 AM) Enrich redemptions become not competitive after they removed the 15% discount. Personally, I would only redeem Enrich during promotion period which give 30% to 50% discount. Else, I would prefer KF. Yes I agree. It appears that they are running promo quite frequently now but with very short travel dates and limited booking time. I prefer not to transit in Singapore so for the moment it's still enrich for me |

QUOTE(raist86 @ Oct 19 2016, 09:02 AM) IMHO, 2CPremier is only worth it if you can earn enough points to exchange to air miles due to its best conversion rate and TP earning rate (though not as good as last time). Even with VI card, you get 2TP for every RM1 spent. I share the same sentiment as you Raist86. In just 1 year of using the 2CPremier, I was able to collect close to 1 Mio TP. It used to be alot easier before they imposed stupid restrictions. Having said that, MAS Enrich redemption is also getting ridiculous so you have to wait for their promotion to score some great deals on their business class seats. Nice way to give a treat to the family 2 years worth of collecting points allowed me to fly business on cathay pacific by just paying RM 1k on taxes for 2 pax. Cash purchase value of the ticket is about RM 34k for 2 pax. Think of it as having a big treat once awhile. Some people prefer monthly cash rebates. I prefer having being rewarded with big treats once awhile. 2 years of RM 50 - 100 cash rebates does not give the equivalent value as flying J class. For those who want to optimize earning, i suggest to pair this card with either HLB Mach Signature or MBB Krisflyer Amex to take advantage of points earning from Utilities and Government. If you can get HLB VI or Alliance VI, all the better. Just stay away from HSBC cards even though their advertised conversion rate looks good. They come with lots of T&C and limitation. I had a big headache trying to figure out when to use the card and when not to. CIMB VI or World Mastercard while has good potential miles earning rate, the AF is too expensive and to get a waiver is a bi**h. Have to spend like RM 1Mil to get automatic waiver. There's also a limitation on the number of miles earned a year. BTW I think you meant CIMB World Enrich because their World MAstercard is free for life. |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Oct 18 2016, 08:39 PM) Sorry you need to rephrase your words, what is "pay my FD with my card"? IMHO it is gullible for anyone to think they can place an FD deposit based on a 'swipe' of the CC. It will be interesting to see what his 'banker' says but I suspect he will not post back here I am one of those that pledge FD to get the card, what is your exact problem? Pledging basically mean you tie your FD to the CC to compensate the difference of CL that the bank is willing to give you & the minimum CL required for the card. |

QUOTE(raist86 @ Oct 19 2016, 12:20 PM) Yea, my bad, it's the world enrich. both have ridiculous t&c. How do you work out the conversion of Krisflyer RM1=1 Mile? Is this on the assumption that all spending will be on the 5X Points on Amex? Comparing with Enrich, do you find the Krisflyer to be a better deal when doing redemptions? Don't really like transiting in Singapore but MAS has cut so many routes and is transforming into a regional airlineTrick is to do the exchange to Enrich when they have 10% extra promotion, then redeem via one world redemption or one world multicarrier redemption. The problem is maybe restriction on seats by partner carrier or fresh call center staff who does not know how to do the redemption. I had to try several times to finally secure my seats. I'm now putting my miles to Krisflyer considering that MBB still have the krisflyer card to earn miles at almost RM 1 = 1 mile. |

Any idea if Krisflyer gives better value for their miles compared to Enrich? For eg. how many points required to fly KL-London on business class? Because Rm1 = 1 Mile is almost comparable to 2CPremier

QUOTE(raist86 @ Oct 19 2016, 01:40 PM) i only use krisfler for transactions that don't qualify for x5 on 2CP amex (tnb, gov transactions etc). Raist, are you being awarded miles for TNB and Gov Transactions (Assessment etc)? Been screwed twice by credit cards, once by 2CPremier when they changed their T&C and second time by HL VI which suddenly decided to give ZERO points for transactions through JomPay Krisflyer earning is RM 2 = 1 mile for local spend. but if spend RM 60k> a year, there's a bonus of 1 additional mile for every RM spent. That amount is hit easily for me hence i factor in the bonus earning to become RM 1 = 1 Mile. So far haven't done redemption on krisflyer. I'm using this card to capture all the miles that would've otherwise gone to waste. Ideally if there's a card that can earn the same rate for Asiamiles, i'd have gone for it as CX has better redemption availability and lower tax charges. SQ tax charges can sometimes be eye watering. For example, the same destination i redeemed on CX J would've cost me RM 3.5k in taxes on SQ... But some forumers have found loopholes that cut the taxes which requires starting the flight from certain location (MNL etc). |

QUOTE(raist86 @ Oct 19 2016, 05:18 PM) After March, no more miles awarded for TNB and GOV Transaction. I stopped using VI or Amex for these two transactions immediately and switched over to HL mach Signature. Mach Sig still earns points cos it's direct conversion of total spending to Enrich at end of statement. I did use some jompay on mach sig, and that time i still earn enrich miles. Stopped using Mach Sig as of August. Now using Krisflyer for these transactions and i can confirm that all spending on Krisflyer amex earns miles as it's direct conversion to miles. Same situation as you. About 10K of utilities per month but missing out on all the points. Glad that you confirm Krisflyer is still awarding for TNB and Gov. With the double bonus miles (60K spending per annum is no prob), it seems like a pretty good deal. As to ease of redemption on Krisflyer, I guess we just have to tough it out. May be worth the effort with their bigger route options etc.You need to know which FF you wanna park your miles to before committing on the card. I've tried Enrich and i got fed up with the YO-YO customer service & marketing. There's no way to capture my spending on utilities & gov transactions for Asia Miles redemption. Hence the final and only way is to use MBB Krisflyer card. I'm doing this only because i have >RM10k a month on utilities and gov transactions. This way I can accumulate both enrich and krisflyer |

QUOTE(dctravels @ Oct 20 2016, 06:50 AM) I plugged in 14 December and could get 2 saver level awards on the A380 to Melbourne. Could also get 2 seats but on Standard level for the trip back after 1 or 2 weeks' stay. Total miles: 246,500 or 123,250 KF miles per person. For December I think you need to be realistic and book way in advance. 123K KF miles KL -MEL is pretty steep compared to enrich no? But then it's the A380 so warrants the premium? As for partner airlines, what about Emirates??? |

Guys sorry for the noob question but I am confused. Can I convert my TP from MBB 2C Premier to KrisFlyer and Asiamiles or is it just Enrich? It is quite misleading on their website, which indicates that all above possible at the same rate ie 1,000 miles=4770 TP
Thanks for feedback |
