this criteria is a trap lo.

the more ppl die-die spend rm500 (to be 1st to qualify but without any benefits), then the merchant fees maybank charged can be recycled as "cashback" for this promo. 

u still need at least rm500, right?

Depends on your usage. I still use my AmEx occasionally to collect points because I don't really have a general card except for OCBC GE which gives 1%. So I reckon points are better for me.

Also, I have the Ikhwan MasterCard.

how do u understand accumulative?

i lost my interest to use my card since no more 5% CB on weekend spending last time. by having other banks card, i think i can't hit the rm500 spending..

so mean what? must spend on sat sunday (rm500) to entitle ?

1st week weekend i spend 200,

2nd week weekend i spend 300,

so in 1 month time i spend 500, i still entitle right? but only 5% which mean rm25 only.

minimum spending is rm500. you can spend up to 1k to receive max rm50. but if you spend on 2nd week and quota is used up you will only receive cashback for rm200 first week spending. this is first come first served basis campaign.

only weekend, not weekday right? I am thinking spend on weekend to entitle for the 5%, but not include weekdays.

so technically the campaign starts on the 2nd July since spending anything for tmr won't be entitled for the cash back

In other words, the effective CB is not 5%. Tricky campaign.

why not effective CB is 5%?

Well, you may need to spend during weekday to have higher chances to be winner? Not sure.
