QUOTE(cHaRsIeWpAu^^ @ Jun 16 2016, 09:44 AM) due date + 2days? I always pay on due date for all banks. For other banks I use GIRO from Maybank but I will ensure to pay before 10 a.m. so that the other side can get it within the same day. This only applies to working days. If Saturdays are the due date, I will pay via GIRO on Friday. If Sundays are the due date, I will pay on Monday's morning. I don't encourage nor responsible for any late payment charges.if yes then i should just do future payment on duedate, can earn more interest. for now i always pay 2days before the duedate. Just to share my understanding on bank system.. |

QUOTE(cHaRsIeWpAu^^ @ Jun 16 2016, 10:19 AM) cool. learned something useful today. yeah, if m2u -> mbb cards, anytime mine is just in m2u saver, so i can just pay it on the duedate itself now. if ibg -> mbb cards, perform before noon is safer; just so the fund is transferred within same day (although the actual ibg timetable is by 5pm for same-day transfer by 11pm). |

QUOTE(kengyan @ Jun 16 2016, 11:43 AM) Well, only people that are too free to test a bank's limit will do such risky or stupid act. Just pay 2-3 days earlier or pay directly once statement is out will be the best way. some ppl just do not have money to spend and still want to enjoy life...or they really need money and no choice to wait salary or money before can pay .Certain banks allow this while some are not. But, they should look for alternative like to take personal loan which have lower interest rate. BUT, pls take note all these ppl MUST know what they doing ..they should not take personal loan or delya pay cc bill if they are no afford. Just do nto spend if no afford. |

QUOTE(kengyan @ Jun 16 2016, 11:52 AM) Malaysians now are spend above their limit. Take personal loan is no good solution to settle cc outstanding.I always set my CC statement beginning of the month while my salary will be out by 20th each month. CC due date are 23rd to 27th each month, so I won't have any issue on repaying in full amount. Personal loan are bad way on financial management. But , Personal loan is still better than no paying credit card outstanding, rite? Better we stop here...it will be out topic |

Just pay 2-3 days earlier or pay directly once statement is out will be the best way. This way you are not enjoying the benefit of 20-day free interest period. It is not the best way when you can earn more interest in other ways.Certain banks allow this while some are not. My salary is also out by 20th of the month and I have statement dates all over the month for different banks, still I have no issue to pay in full all the time and I enjoy 20-day free interest period. Financial management is important. It doesn't matter when your salary is paid, it is how you manage it well. This post has been edited by fruitie: Jun 16 2016, 01:28 PM |

Also, for Maybank specifically I arrange payment on the day itself using future transaction. Why waste interest in my M2U savers-I account by paying any earlier than needed? Prudent financial management doesn't mean ignoring the benefits of interest free periods.

QUOTE(kengyan @ Jun 16 2016, 02:05 PM) Enjoy or not, you still have to pay, right? So it does not matter anyway. It only matters if you can make money out of it with that 20 days period. Yes, we can. This post has been edited by fruitie: Jun 16 2016, 02:14 PM |

As a Maybank user, I advise you to check out M2U savers-I. CIMB and others also have similar, higher-interest (still lower than FD), daily calculated interest-bearing accounts. |
