You need to compare apples to apples; oranges to oranges.
......
GTF is not underperforming, it is just inline with its peer.
*
I think when he posted this

QUOTE(kimyee73 @ Aug 5 2016, 10:11 PM)
Even putting money in CMF2 beats GTF for the last 12 months.
*
he was responding to this

QUOTE(dasecret @ Aug 5 2016, 03:00 PM)
Past 6-12 months Aberdeen exceeded GTF, even EI Global Leaders also exceeded GTF... I guess this is the argument on fund house diversification comes in lor
*
which I think he just wanted to show how the ROI of GTF had been for the past 12 months.....
do you think IT is BETTER to be posted as this to reflect the actual results without perceived to be comparing apples with oranges but just responding directly to "dasecret" post?

I think, I think, I think...so many thinks.....could be the right thinking?. biggrin.gif

or maybe FSM is right? hmm.gif
Ratings Lowered For US, Europe ....
We currently have a 2.0 Star "Unattractive" rating on US, equities while Europe is rated 2.5 Stars "Neutral".

thinking of dumping all my saving 300k into kenanga growth fund for retirement . is this wise thing to do? thanks .
*
How must is this 300k in relation to your net worth?
if it is just peanuts...then I my opinion it is ok.....
if it is NOT, then below is advised for consideration.....

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Aug 8 2016, 09:20 AM)
Spread it over 6-12 months, don't put in one shot.

And don't put all in 1 fund, just my opinion.

At least

Kenanga Growth
1 Global Equity
1 Asia ex Japan Equity
1 Asian bond

age 48 already retired. yes im a risk taker, plan to invest long term to generate passive income
.......
my investment objective is to generate passive income, generally a risk taker la.
its not peanuts, its my rice bowl .  notworthy.gif
........
*
What is your expected ROI p.a. for this RM300k investment that is accepted by you to consider passive income?
other than this RM 300k, do you have other saving for emergency funds, and insurance, hospitalization insurance etc, etc..
you still have about 2 yrs b4 you can touch some money in EPF......how long can yr EPF sustain you?.....
just some of the issues that needed consideration too.

still have 3 1/2 months till end of year....
portfolio still stuck at 4% IRR.
gambling bigger this time...
switched ATR and China-India to RHB Small Cap (13.5% of portfolio)....
hopefully MO1 will still be out of sight ....
*
oh-oh....now you have 5 funds from 5 FHs investing in the same market.... notworthy.gif
if 4 UTs from 4 FHs investing in the same market is like putting a gun on your head and pulling the trigger...than this time will be like ....... shocking.gif console.gif

For tech-themed unit trusts then, thats true. Hence the selection of stories then fall unto us. Would we hear stories then invest into tech unit trusts then, or run far far away from the sector and invest in other sectors/asset class?  devil.gif
*
During that time...most other asset class also kena....dotcom, lehnan, asian f crisis., etc...risk is alway there....we just don't know when it will strike....if you stayed too long on the side lines.....one may not make much....
Just go for a diversified portfolio and let the FMs do the stories listening n telling.....in the end, every dogs (asset classes) will get his days of glory and then fade off....then reemerge again later...
