RHB denies there is an investigation of its asset arm selling certain stocks

"Last week, some stocks saw heavy selling pressure. Among them were United U-Li Corp Bhd, SLP Resources Bhd, Oriental Food Industries Holdings Bhd and SCGM Bhd."

a BIG cross road?

If New York developer Donald Trump wins the White House in November, the global economy could slip into recession, according to a forecast from Citigroup Thursday.

In a research note a team led by the US bank's chief economist Willem Buiter said the election was a major source of uncertainty in the global economy.

Guys, intra fund switching is not entitled to the discounted sales charge? I'm trying to move my RHB Asian Total Return holdings to RHB Asian Income Fund, but the sales charge I see is 2% and not 0.57%.

Introducing RHB Private Equity Opportunity Fund 1

Launched on 28 July 2016, RHB Private Equity Opportunity Fund 1 is a new private equity solution by the RHB Asset Management Berhad. RHB Private Equity Opportunity Fund 1 is a feeder fund that feeds into RHB Private Equity Fund 1, with an emphasis of achieving a target return of 15% to 20% gross internal rate of return (IRR) per annum over a lock up investment period of the 7 years. The target fund will be investing primarily in the US (80% to 90% of its NAV) -a region where the manager believes has a favourable regulatory environment for private equity investments.

most of the time when the market is having SALES...
for some reasons, many are not interest......
maybe they intend to wait for more discount,
maybe they are short of cash,
maybe they are afraid of the unknown as to why there is a SALES,
maybe are burned too during the SALES.

btw,
Some of the RHB funds had been having SALES prices of > 13% discount compared to prices just 3 weeks ago.....anyone interested?

Invest for "Long terms"...buy at a discounts.....anyone?? biggrin.gif innocent.gif

hey guys funds like my manulife India and RTF that I purchased last year have netted me a good roi.

I was thinking to I start selling off the profits to be used to buy into another fund and leave the "capital" untouched. would that be a wise move or do I just leave it?

help.
*
good to hear that you made good ROI on those funds
btw, why do you want to "sell" off the gains?
if it is b'cos you think that the NAV of those funds would come down,...in the coming future?
if yes,..i may suggest that you switch out more of your current holdings in those funds instead of just the current gains....

but, if you just want to rebalance your portfolio......then that is another story...

if you want can try this....
When to sell?
This is often a difficult decision to make. What if you sold and the price went up further? What if you don't sell and the price falls? So we created 3 simple rules of thumb for you to follow:

hey guys, 2 questions
1. how do i actually calculate my actual gains on FSM?
my current understanding is, sales charge (2% or promo rate) is net off at the point of purchase, subsequent to that, the annual management charge is already net off from the NAV daily. So is the gain i see under my fund performance the net gain i will get?

2. how to read the % return on the NAV
on the table with 1 week, 1 month, 3 months etc, in simple terms, does it mean, if i bought on 1st Sept, and as at 30 Sept, the 1 month NAV returns shows 5%, that's the gain i will get, if i have invested on the 1st? and is that gain a gross or net gain?

thanks for your enlightenment before hand biggrin.gif

for simple and easy to use (if one does not take into the SC charges),
try use the fund return tool
goto FUNDS INFO > FUND RETURN > (select the fund and set the duration), then click "Get Returns" = Returns in %

I am a bit late, one lump sum in March, then another lump sum in June.
Now stop buying because the fund size increased exponentially from RM40mil in March 2016 to around RM130mil++ in Jul 2016, a dramatic increment.

As a result, the cash holding enlarged to > 30%, when the cash holding is large, it will affect the fund performance.
The fund managers do not invest fast enough to keep the cash holding low,
*
hmm.gif fund size increase 3x in 4 months....
yet they managed to used up the money and maintain a cash pool of 30%....

30 +/- 5 % cash pool is normal I guess

I think the RHB Islamic bond funds get recovered thereafter. Ample zones settled the bond eventually,  therefore the fund still ranked as lower risk and it's average return over the 10 years (or shorter term 1-3 years)  remain strong.

The current portfolios seems healthy
*
if I would like to go into bond....I will use the recommended fund and also the Risk volatility index given.
at least FSM did some filtering for me and also for bond I aimed for lower portfolio volatility not so much as for FI performance.
