Can someone guide me how to buy Magicforce gateron switches on taobao? Currently I only found cherry switches and some alien switches which are in Chinese language. What's the Chinese words for gateron anyway? I've search online but can't find it... Currently planning to buy as silent and comfortable mini keyboard for travel.

Some Chinese keyboard on taobao I think, I had Ling Yi blackwidow blue switches TKL, not bad, feel much more comfortable than Razer green switches. QUOTE(Chryos1029 @ Mar 24 2016, 07:18 PM) You can search 魔蛋 at taobao, probably the first result ok tks QUOTE(davey.havok @ Mar 24 2016, 09:48 PM) Magicforce with Gaterons are exclusive to Massdrop (I just asked them last month). Your options are: 1) We all know China sh*t can't stay exclusive for long. It will surely leak out somewhere soon. I think Aliexpress sold a small batch with Gaterons recently. 2) Magicforce sells the case & PCB separately. I think it's around 200 rmb. You can buy that and install your own Gaterons. too extreme for me to get into soldering, tried it once without practice on my ducky shine 3, end up with spoiled LED on PCB. QUOTE(kyosukeX @ Mar 30 2016, 01:26 PM) Hey guys, mkb noob here, recently one of my key/switch on my mkb broke down T_T » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Broken key = [1/!] Switch = Cherry MX Red Keyboard = Random China brand bought from Taobao Age = ~1 year When it was half working I need to press really hard on the key to get the key working normally again, after a few weeks it's just dead. Any cheap way to DIY fix it? how much it cost to get the equipment for the DIY fix, any fellow forumer does fixing service? Or should i inevitably get a new MKB instead (prefer not to). Thanks all sifu wow replace whole mechanical keyboard after one switch has failed, really 'rich' way to solve problem. Have you ever cleaned your mkb? if not maybe got some real nasty stuff stuck inside the switch, maybe you can try dilute some alcohol with water with certain ratio and drop a few drip via cotton bud onto the switch, i believe there's a video on Youtube showing how to do it. If not just hire someone to replace your switch.

So guys, I've bought a new Ducky One full size non back-lit orange font and the volume up and down keys are inverted, which means that when i press volume up, it will decrease the volume. When i press volume down, it will increase the volume. Is this a manufacture defect? I've installed all updates on Windows 10 Pro original. Also, the keyboard doesn't seem to startup when i connected the USB to my laptop on startup, i had to reconnect the USB cable for the keyboard to work.
I've had a really bad experience with Ducky product before as my previous Ducky Shine 3's multiple LED died in less than a week, wasted like RM450. Can't even RMA it, says the seller need to export to Taiwan but they'll just fix the LED and not exchange new one for me, so the seller repaired it himself but the brightness of the replaced LED are not even the same.

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Apr 16 2016, 03:00 PM) I feel you man. Those crispy clicky sounds it makes. But it's too stiff for me. I wish they have something like Brown or Red with clicky sound. Same with me also, I've never tried mx blue before until i visited a shop which let me test typing on new ducky one mx blue switches, i was using Outemu blue which is less stiffer than mx blue, ended up switching to mx red since it sounded good and feel much smoother. I expect cherry mx to beat the satisfaction level compared with outemu or even kailh blue, the springs r way too stiff! This post has been edited by Nursh: Apr 16 2016, 04:48 PM

How come I don't feel comfortable using a palm rest on my full sized keyboard? My typing accuracy for bottom row also decreased. Is it because that the palm rest is too thick? My palm rest type is leatherette bought from taobao . I've even read about how palm rest will actually induce carpal tunnel syndrome... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « https://world.taobao.com/item/44890193973.htm?fromSite=main&spm=a312a.7700846.0.0.n4egLy&_u=g2gjt2ke0e2d This post has been edited by Nursh: Apr 16 2016, 06:23 PM Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(Chryos1029 @ May 12 2016, 03:42 AM) I think you can buy it from Taobao with a much cheaper price though... so no point buying from MD... QUOTE(entity @ May 12 2016, 05:21 AM) You could spend a little bit more and buy THE definitive Topre board aka the HHKB2 (Realforce owners don't kill me) That said, I've heard some good things about the Kludge. Build quality might not be on par with others, but people say it's better to type on than Novatouch keys. is it possible to replace the LED only on that keyboard if the LEDs fails? I'm planning to buy it to replace my Ducky One Red switches will that be a good idea?

QUOTE(entity @ May 13 2016, 04:20 PM) I'm sure you could, but I have no experience with soldering LEDS. That said, are you sure a topre board is the right switch for you? They're very different from Reds. I'm not sure which is why I'd like to try it, since Novatouch and Topre are both expensive which is why I want to buy the cheap one to see if it fits me.

Anyone know where to buy the thickest O ring for MKB cheapest online? I've bought the transparent O ring from Aliexpress before and i feel that it doesn't do much dampening due to its thin and soft silicone. My current keyboard is MX red and the spacebar is the loudest of all and I had to put 2 transparent O ring to dampen the sound...

Will it be a good idea to spray some silicone spray to its cherry stabilizer and Cherry MX Red switches? My Ducky One keyboard is just around 2 months old, what I'm trying to achieve is smoother typing experience and to reduce the switches' sound, I did install some ordinarily transparent O rings to dampen the sound. My keyboard uses Taihao double-shot key caps instead of the stock key caps. One of the problem I have is the spacebar of the Taihao is too damn loud on the my Ducky One MKB even with double O rings, which is why i still using stock space bar key caps. I've search online about silicone spray and there are myths about how it'll eats off rubber and plastic. However, I've seen this silicone spray sold at local store and online. It's made in Malaysia. Specially developed to lubricate, clean and protect most automotive parts, window gliding groove, fan belt, door joints, battery terminals and many more. This new formulation is safe and gentle to all rubber and vinyl surfaces. http://www.sgcarmart.com/products/overview.php?ID=7404 http://www.waxco.net/product/?page=3&sort=...rd=&category=13The ingredient it contains is petroleum distillates(that's all it says). Some people are mystified by the name itself “petroleum distillates”, but that is exactly what they are — products made from crude oil that have been distilled in a refinery and then usually processed further and purified in some manner. Source: http://www.protectall.com/artpetdist.aspxSome guy also says that they used silicone spray which contains also petroleum distillates and their rubix cube is fine. https://www.speedsolving.com/forum/threads/...oleum-bad.4583/If it's not a good idea to use it, can someone suggest me where and which lubricants can i buy online? Sorry for wall of text... TLDR: Silicone spray can use? If not please suggest one lubricants that I can buy through online thanks.

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ May 21 2016, 12:20 PM) Hey guys, will the Cherry MX switches break in over time? I'm sick of the inconsistency of Cherry switches. I have owned 2 Filcos (Blue and Brown) and 1 Ducky (Blue). I love the the Browns and Blues on the Filcos whereas the Blues on the Ducky are stiff as hell. Borrowed another Razer BW with Blues (Cherry ones) from a friend and they felt lighter and smoother. Now, I just bought a Cooler Master Pro S with Reds but these feels like a freaking Black switch to me. Felt mushy while bottoming out. It's another totally different experience when I type on my friend's K70 with reds. Maybe it's the backplate? I wonder if I should pick up a G810 with Romer-G switches and say bye bye to Cherry. Damn. I thought i waa the only one, few months back i went to a shop to buy ducky one cherry mx blue, i changed my mind when it was far way stiffer than the clicky switches that i had which are kailh blue, razer green and outemu blue. So i bought the red switches instead.

QUOTE(antaras @ May 23 2016, 11:26 AM) Yes, I was looking for it as well but ultimately got the 87 (1st gen) in the end. Now still waiting for it to reach me. Anyway, seems like the 2nd gen is not available there? Or perhaps it's in a different name? Can't even find it in Royal's official webpage. Either that or am doing it wrong... I don't think there'll be much difference for the name, I've searched for RK RC930-108 but found nothing. It could be that RK has made exclusive deal with Massdrop to release their 2nd generation RC930-108 on Massdrop first.

QUOTE(sakrayguy @ May 27 2016, 09:29 AM) Just bought a Razer Blackwidow Chroma Tournament Edition and only then I found out about the negative feedback on Razer's build quality. Should I be worried about it? Bought it on impulse because of Gemfive discount coupon Not much unless you're the unlucky one. If your keyboard is fine within first 14 days, then it'll be fine I guess... Since most manufacture defect item will be obvious for the first week for me. Bought a non-sealed Ducky Shine 3 from a forum member before this, like around 5-7 LEDs dead in less than 7 days.

QUOTE(antaras @ May 27 2016, 02:53 PM) Anyone have experience with Royal Kludge's RC930-87 here? I just got my board and been trying it out since the morning. Ran into some issues with it. Once a while I will have the board sort of froze on me. I mean the back-lighting is lit. I can still toggle it on or off. Somehow, I cannot type or register any other keys. and one of the LED is faulty. the colour seems off... Since I'm planning to get one for myself, care to share from whom did you bought it? Maybe it's manufacture defect. If it's me I would try to plug it in other laptop to see if it's really the keyboard's fault.
