QUOTE(Koki @ Jun 10 2016, 06:27 PM) That's what I thought too. Turns out that's not the case for the TKL version. If you're getting the full-sized non-backlit version, you'll get the orange on black keycaps So you'll mod your ducky one into LEDs one? Will you add extra part such as resistor/diodes for the LEDs? I'm quite curious since I have Ducky One full size non back-lit now, thinking about buying some LED socket myself. Will your keyboard has the function to turn the LEDs on/off?

QUOTE(antaras @ May 23 2016, 11:26 AM) Yes, I was looking for it as well but ultimately got the 87 (1st gen) in the end. Now still waiting for it to reach me. Anyway, seems like the 2nd gen is not available there? Or perhaps it's in a different name? Can't even find it in Royal's official webpage. Either that or am doing it wrong... I found 2nd gen topre clone 108, correct me if I'm wrong. https://world.taobao.com/item/522590952109....196601.4.zl5lK9

QUOTE(Koki @ Jun 11 2016, 01:41 PM) Sorry I didn't see this yesterday. I got some images of the PCB few pages back, it looks like there's resistors on the board already. Anyway I try soldering one of the LED first when it arrives. I'll report back. Okay thanks, I'll be waiting.

So I decided to get a 60% custom made MKB GH60 and custom made numpad(need it for gaming). While browsing for more items before consolidating, coincidentally I found costar stabilizer which I had search for a while but can't find the right key words for it in Chinese. Will it fit to my GH60 with lipless case + aluminium base plate? Any pro here please advice thanks Costar Stabilizer TaobaoMy GH60 PCB set with cherry stabilizers and lipless caseMy GH60's Aluminium Base plateI've searched about GH60 comparability and found GeekHack 60, not sure if it's the same PCB since Taobao's one is SATAN GH60, it seems different with Geekhack's GH60... Can someone tell me why my Gateron Black Switches 62G gold spring got sticky effect after I've left it in a bag inside a bag for like a week? I've applied vigorous amount but not too much lubricant on all of them. All of my switches are sticker as fk now, it's like I've spilled soda all over them... This is the lubricant that I used From TaobaoDid I applied too much or I used the wrong lubricant? Should I apply this one instead? Taobao White Grease So far I've only applied it on the stabilizer instead of the switches, not sure if I'm doing it wrong but I've follow the guide over at GH forum to lube my switches. Please advice on what to do next as this is my first self build mechanical keyboard This post has been edited by Nursh: Jul 10 2016, 11:04 PM

QUOTE(ntw @ Jul 10 2016, 11:13 PM) dudeeeee........ the oil that you used to lube the switches was meant as a protective layer for the wooden wrist rest. nobody, not even ripster the crazy guy himself have tested using wood oil as a switch lube. kudos for carrying out the science for us. take apart all your "lubed" switches and wash them thoroughly in luke warm soap water. make sure everything is taken apart and washed separately. you should have two pieces of contact leaves, a spring, a stem, and top + bottom switch housing. Hahahahhahah okay man thanks for telling me. I was dumb to assume that the oil automatically is for switches, never thought about it being a protective oil for wooden wrist rest...

Anyone has tips to make the LED socket to stay on my PCB when I do the soldering? Whenever I flipped over the board, all of the sockets positions are not in order.

QUOTE(Koki @ Jul 18 2016, 09:33 PM) Any expectation on how it would be? Personally I expect it to be quite tedious - need to solder on LED, check resistance and power etc. Honestly I really have no idea. IMO, soldering LED would be the easy part.

So I've decided to change my 60% Satan PCB Gateron Black switches to Blue and Yellow mix. I've encountered problem with desoldering, it's freaking hard to remove all of the irons' residue. I've search for desoldering wire around hardware stores near me and couldn't find it. Can suggest me any idea to remove them easily or a store that sells the desoldering wire? Thanks in advance

Any MKB enthusiast please advice me on this thanks. Currently I'm planning to buy custom parts from Taobao to build 71 MKB since I want a light and compact keyboard that comes with arrow keys. 71 MKB TaobaoSo what I'm getting is 80 piece of Gateron Clear 35g, cherry stabilizer 4 short 1 long(to replace the cloned stabilizer that comes with the set), thick PBT key caps. I wanna know if what I'm planning to do is alright, is there a better plan than the my current 1? I'm planning to use this keyboard as my main daily keyboard for gaming and typing. Please guide me on this thanks
