Oh great. thanks for the info. Will go there to check out the 3s centre. However, is it worth it to buy the 2015 Shiver? The offer is quite good. RM36k otr. What are the changes on the 2016 model as compared to 2015?
*
You're welcome. IMHO, i think it is worth for the price. Bought mine year 2014 model (bought in October 2015) for 38k OTR. No changes for 2014 - 2016 models.

Do try Yamaha, Kawasaki, KTM, and Triumph for the same range. Keep your options open if have budget. Just get the feel before any final decision. icon_idea.gif

Last year, I allocated myself with RM42k budget. So my selection was down to Monster 795, MT-07, Shiver & ER6N. blink.gif

Tracer really looks good. A nice refresh look to the touring bike group. A lot of potential. I also a bit goyang because I am targeting Kawa Versys 1000. Oh decisions......hahahaha Now must wait for the price of this machine. Furthermore dunno how it will stack up against a 4 porter since Tracer is a 3 porter. Hmmmmm
*
My colleague told me, if serious enough to tour long distance, 1L bike is the minimum requirement.

No such thing lah bro. In fact one litre bike can be a bane. Its only good for highway. Once you reach trunk roads its a beast to handle. Cant compare touring in EU and US. They have nice big roads.
I have taken my V 650 to 1000 corner and so on. Very good balance and maneuverability.

I agree, but don't know why he said that. Maybe his personal requirement is high laugh.gif

no specific ETA, so long my bones heal up and my muscles restore so that i can actually handle the bike properly (or pick it up in case of a fall)

that, and to buy again a new helmet and a better jacket with better chest/back/neck protection is going to set me back 4-5k or so, so that will take some time no doubt.

no to mention me working around the stiffness (and lets not forget the constant pain on my chest/back in particular lol) in my neck since i am now permanent stuck with the titanium implants hehe
*
Hope all is good & speedy full recovery Bro.

Good review, Komine works! thumbsup.gif

thanks bro.

just wished i had put on my chest protector, and bought/wear add-on neck protector that komine sells separately haha

Oh wow. The reason I bought Komine because it came with chest pads, shoulder, back, and elbow protection.

I wonder why you remove the chest pads? hmm.gif

oh mai, my friend keep poisoning me to take up mt-09 which is out of my budget already
he kept saying the mt-07 is just the bigger version of fz150, lol

dilemma...
*
If he were to say that, i wonder if he's an experienced rider to justify it that way. hmm.gif
Or he could be having much bigger cc bike (high requirement)

Sifus, I had a conversation with one  of the ex-shiver rider this morning and he mentioned that there is an issue with the cdi or ecu on shiver. Is it true?He sold his bike as the cdi/ecu has failed three times in 2 years. Any aprilia shiver rider here that has encountered the same issue?Any fix for it yet?Sorry I don't remember whether it is the ecu or cdi that he mentioned. hehe
*
I am not sure about that (not seeing any discussion about this so far for almost a year owning) but in our What's App group, usually sensor problems due to owner sent their bike to shop for washing using high pressured spray.

Hi guys, I'm gonna pull the trigger soon on the Triumph Street Twin.

But before that, are there any Bonneville or just any Triumph owners here?
How is the service cost like?
*
Not sure about service cost, but i heard RM80 per hour for labour. Also I heard service interval could be frequent like Ducati. unsure.gif

Triumph Foremen is Om Puteh.. and they charged as per Authorized SC, per hourly rate. Triumph need to service every 10K and amount around 500 to 700 Rm and every 20k KM Valve clearance check. Cost around 1200 Rm... on the every 20k Km..

That's what the Fastbike told me regardless on which model of triumph..

Great. Maybe he just got unlucky. I am pretty much sure going for shiver now. hehe. Btw, where is your location? Is there any shop recommendation to get the shiver with a good deal? and maybe any shop to avoid ke. hehe
*
My location is near Tropicana City.

I got mine from Hiap Aik Speed Meru because other places no stock during my hunting time.

Try also V-Power for periodically good deals. V Power Motor Sdn. Bhd.

Good luck & All the best for your selection, mate.

Mine and most newer Ducati service intervals is at every 12k
At 12k would be around 800-1200rm. Timing belt replacement complete with new tensioner could be about 2k.
My sifu DIY timing belt replacement for me recently tongue.gif

Do you know where is the location/position of Shiver's rectifier?
*
Yes, it's visible on the left - front side of the tank. Look at the fork, you can see it if you're facing the bike. Looks like heatsink.

For my CBU unit, it's Ducati (stamped) rectifier. One otai replaced for RM600.

Ducati rectifier? hmm.gifshakehead.gif
Among most common problem with Ducatis (1198 and older) are the oem rectifiers.
The best upgrade is mosfet type rectifier. Im using Shindengen FH020AA kit with Triumph harness from here. Can ask them (Jack) anything about your rectifier problem even if you are not buying from him tongue.gif

[attachmentid=7232883]
*
Ya Bro, his old Shiver was using Ducatis. laugh.gif

Thanks so much for sharing mosfet, Bro monaz thumbsup.gif . Still a lot for me to learn.

For newer Shivers, so far no one replace yet except that Ducati-recitifier (old shiver) case.

Need some momentum to climb onto Titi and once both wheels on Titi, use Cyphereza's method

Heavy bike more stable than kapchais, less movement .
