I was there around 10am this morning, Service Advisor said better 1 week after Raya. Too many bikes lining up.

Already reached 10k km yesterday, not sure when I should service. I prefer to service when they are not rushing.

If after Raya, means two weeks i cant ride

I need them to perform detailed OBD to see all good (health check haha) if possible. That I hope can be done during same time and it could take a while.

Coolant, I already flushed and replaced with desired spec and tyre pressure, I check weekly.

Now my radiator fan works lesser due to the good quality coolant. Stock coolant taboleh pakai-1 for our weather.

There was a time I was mad because they oiled my chain without asking me when I already waxed it. Went home, clean again and waxed again. Dem!

For Aprilia, there is another good 3S center @ Shah Alam (United Bikers Dream). Please do not buy Shiver, too many on the roads now, I feel less spezial now haha.

Apart from that, are also few shops good in handling maintenance for Aprilia like S4M motorsports (some say premium, but i like their workmanship). So far no complain for my bike.

Also, as most of us here know, automotive industry in Malaysia is still not as matured as other countries due to their attitude and passion in customer service. My Yamaha & Kawasaki friend do complain about the service center but i think still acceptable. It depends on how we as consumer want to demand. As for me, if they handle my bike with proper torque and tools (not rough), i will continue going there.

Nowadays, I tighten my own chain slack, clean with proper cleaner and also most of the screws and bolts to the factory torque to prevent missing parts haha. You take care of the bike (minor maintenance), the bike will make your riding experience as smooth as butter.

Hi Bro, it took me a while to match my ENI factory coolant to this one below. Best if you compare around your bike's recommended coolant as wrongly used spec might damage the mixture of parts inside the engine like Aluminium, Copper, seals & etc. I had to flush out because the ENI factory cannot be found here and I cannot top up before any long journey. So now, I can always top up as I premix them and keep in bottle for maintenance.

I am using this with 60/40 mix ratio (coolant/distilled water). Mixture as per coolant sticker behind the bottle.

The problem with my Dunlop Qualifier is not grippy and dangerous on wet surface. Less confidence in cornering due to rubber compount. Also, reached 10k km now, showing no sign of wear

Due to current experience with this Dunlop, I think I prefer slightly faster wearing tyre as this bike is more of a weekend bike.

Angel GT or BATTLAX S21 will be good for cornering

Pilot Road 4 may not be a good tyre because once punctured, you have to seal from inside (thin wall structure iinm). Friend of my experienced already.

AFAIK, it is a good bike, i almost bought it.
Recently i heard about it with some issues from my biking group. Not sure about what.
Tell us the budget first, easier for seniors here to recommend.

Never join convoy before, maybe too shy/afraid of big group riding together.

Yes Bro, not bluffing. Small group ride, yes and I become sweeper.

I consider convoy as a group ride more than 10 bikes. My colleague broke shoulder during convoy, scary story.

Later we go ride today? If no rain, you plan with others here, then i join. Long time no ride, too. Been Busy.

From what i can compare my friends using MT-09, plus minus about the same in terms of maintenance (big cc bikes all almost the same). Parts available through 3S centers, local big moto shops or online seller.
10,000km+ now, still not thinking about other bikes. Just love it. 2years warranty with unlimited mileage.

Shiver over MT-07:
-design i dun really like (prefer twin tail exhausts)
-no steel braided brakes
-no USD fork
-smaller front twin discs (shiver with 320mm)
-meter panel too much of electronic looks (prefer old styled tachometer)

PITA on Shiver!
- hard to pump front tire air, discs too big and blocking the valve.
- tall bike for my legs
- Only Akrapovic wont void warranty
- Cant find seat-rack like MT-07 (Sw-motech)
- Gas tank is 15L (i wish it has bigger like touring bike, haha)
- no ABS/TC

... can mode the looks to be more sexy

Laaa, no choice then, or next time, or we all here meet up for drinks whenever free.

So far 10,000km+ no issue. In Shiver what's app group, they tour a lot to Thailand and one of my friend completed till Cambodia no issue so far. Most of them also commute daily to work.
Those having issues mostly from sensors becoz they send their bikes to jet wash (short circuit).

Since you had phobia, better choose Japs this time .

Most importantly when you choose, get the one that complies with all your usage/requirements.

I didnt buy Yamaha previously because no MT-07 test demo bike available. If have, it would be great to test.

I only get to test my friend's MT09 and didnt really like it due to super straight body position. On the other hand, Ducati Monster is too forward position, could be tiring as well so i drop it from my list.

For Aprilia test ride, do head over to 3S centre @ [ 147, Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz, Kampung Baru, KL ]. They will allow you to test on AKLEH if not mistaken. Be very careful of the "S" mode. Try out with "T" (touring mode) first if possible.

I agree, shops discouraged me earlier too, even from the shop that i purchased from. Keep pointing about the oil filter expensive, engine will overheat and so forth. When i own it, different story all together. No issue so far and my oil filter is about +/- RM60 (hi flo).

An example that I know of is Kawasaki ER6N radiator is about RM 1.2k while Shiver's is about 1.3k. Not much of a difference for me. Conti will cost a little more as a known fact here in Malaysia.

Also, usually manufacturer or distributor may push dealers for volume business so that next shipment they get more rebates. This is where they (bike shops) will keep promoting certain models or brands.

Buy the one suits your criteria. I choose handling and performance for weekend excitement. I've been Aprilia fan since secondary school time (when Rossi on RS125). Now i just realised my dream at this age .

My problem now is the stock tyre they provided. So difficult to botak and they are not that grippy.
