I have several newbie questions to ask. I just bought Xbox 360 4days ago.

1) On my xbox 360 limited edition box (asia version), stated that free Xbox Live Silver membership and include one month Xbox Live Gold membership. How i gonna enable the xbox Live Gold with one month free?.
2) How do i change the picture (avatar) in xbox live gamercard provided by xbox.com other than what they have provided in the gamer picture?
3) My xbox is NTSC/J. How do i know which game support for my xbox?.
4) What is region free and region locked?. I have a game that prompt for region locked, is there any other way to enable it?

1) Just sign up for XBox Silver and it'll prompt you "you are eligible for 1 month free XBL Gold" or something like that.
2) Set up in your profiles
3) Not sure, hehe
4) There are 3 (I think) different regions for XBox360. Games are normally locked for 1 or 2 regions, and cannot be played on other region(s) without any firmware mods/hacks.

In the Edit Your Gamercard right?, what actually i mean is, i want to add my own custom picture, not what they have already provided.

2) u can only use microsoft approved picture (avatar). some picts u get free, some u can buy with MS points

3&4) when buying a 360 game, look for the NTSC/J on the top right corner

it has sold 2 million and counting...people in lowyat even went for competition events held in Djinns shop...
if you like shooters...go for it

to tell you the truth...GRAW not much people playing online d...but the single player value is still ok...its a must have for 360 also...

GRAW is rather outdated if you're gonna buy it now, the single player's great but not excellent. You can use the cheats and still get the achievements at the same time in GRAW, not that nice.

Rainbow Six: Vegas would be a good choice if you wanna take a break from extreme violent, unrealistic, fast paced rambo action. The tactical and the mostly realistic parts of this game(except for the full-auto and sniping shotguns) make it a bigger challenge than GoW. The Normal difficulty of R6:Vegas is as hard as Hardcore on GoW but the Realistic difficulty tops Insane difficulty on GoW majorly.

Hmm I'm playing Vegas and GoW at the moment and I don't necessarily find any of em harder than the other, they're just totally different games.

Vegas can be mega annoying if you don't have surround sound cos there'll be an enemy shooting and you don't know where he's shooting from until it's too late. GoW you always know from which general direction the baddies are. Vegas for the most part your team-mates perform better than you, GoW for the most part your team-mates die first.

GoW even on insane you can rambo, vegas it's nearly impossible to rambo even on Normal.

Got Cheats for GRAW ????

if u dont mind third person go for GoD opss!! GoW or GRAW..hehehe...i did played it on Bernard's shop...almost 4 hours "kerjakan" its fun and easy to control...remind me of Halo (which is still the best among the best hahahahaha)

i prefer R6V MP over GoW coz there's more than one way to win the game. and there's more way to kill your enemy. not to mention more weapon for your disposal. and the most unimportant but yet very much enjoyable thing to do, you can make-up your character. my yakuza face and the mustache are very handsome.

Of course*cough*not*cough*

I know Gears Of War at it best when played online. But if play alone/locally without online is it nice & ok 2?

How to prevent from 3 Red Light Ring Of Death? (ex: Every 2 hours playing, rest for about half an hour. Or intercooler?)

GOW also wat...it looks simple but actually it requires strategy!

R6V is only tactical if you are in a clan match or serious match. 95% of the rank match i play are campers vs campers. Other than that, both are great games

intercooler is a killer too

chiong with a shotgun or frag need strategy?

if you are only playing sharpshooter sure need less tactical. but try attack and defend or retrieval, without strategy you don't stand a chance to win. btw i like campers, throw one grenade and see their body flying.

I didnt play sharpshooter ler, attack and defend is the most play rank match.

Rv6 is a 16 players game and the map is damn huge, now they always camp somemore! (game without respawn)

Defender & attacker will swap identity.

Defender : All chiong like attacker left the base undefend.
Attacker : All rush to retrieve the suitcase, then return to base. Camp beside the extraction point until the time almost up then only secure it.

95% of the public game is that way. Rank or no rank...


GOW may seem like a typical shoot-em-up but because of its limited 4 v 4, small map and limited weapon on map. It's all about teamwork, rushing with shotgun & grenade doesn't work in rank match all the time. Usually those who rush to grenade die first, especially in the map - gridlock.
For me GOw is not stop & pop. Is Cover & Cover Fire (assist team)!!!

Alot of people didn't realize how powerful pistol can be as well~

IMO, both game are all about the player you play with. Both can get tactical to a certain extend...

It is nice to play offline too. I just finish the "casual" mode. Learn some technique from there and plan to play MP now.

you play with bunch of newbies lar, if defenders chiong then something wrong already. the fun part of defenders is planning where to intercept the attackers. putting C4 on the package is the classic, but there's alot of other place for you to plan where and how to intercept them. as an attacker you always have to be on alert and check your surrounding, you never know where defenders will come out from.

the calypso casino where the attacker camp at heli after got the suitcase? defender can still manage to kill all the people camping there. how about hostage rescue? explosive always the recipe for disaster in this mode. retrieval makes you become attacker and defenders at the same time. all this game mode makes you priorities on surviving and carry out your objective while killing is the last resort.

GoW map is small and everytime it's like "been there, done that", like liang said "repetitive".

It's true that GOW is super repetitive, but still fun
I'm just playing it more coz i don't have the moolah to get other games like R6V

WE (x360 n me) just celebrated our 1 year anniversary on the 31st DEC 06. Ahhh.. the memories when we just met... She is still going strong now.. not showing her 3ROD tantrum or even leaking oil on the brick.

The brick doesn't leak oil, it's dirt and grim caught in it. Check your PC's power supply grill you'll find the same stuff. Just that cause it's a smaller area the moisture probably can't absorb into to crud properly.

Damnit, GoW at Sg Wang totally out of stock. Luckily GoW at GH has, 8 copies more. My friend bought 2 for me also

hey guys! wanna ask la..who here is subscribing to xblive Asian account using cc? i wanna know how much it costs per month, and if it's better to buy prepaid cards rather than subscribing monthly with cc.

my personal situation is tht if i were to buy prepaid cards, nak order will take some time plus i need it to be poslaju'd. if i were to travel to GH, total cost to go there is more than poslaju.

so the other alternative is by cc i guess.

dont go by monthly lah cost you more $$$. since you wanna play xbox live then why not just go for 1 year? my 1st year subscription is expiring in 3 weeks time and msoft just email telling me they will auto renew to another year but my ccard already terminated. need to update with a new ccard later.

if you get the reload at GH it would be RM190...

but if u calculate the total cost plus handling(shipping/bus tickets/petrol), it's basically the same..

but using CC has some drawback, MS will continue to charge ur CC whenever ur subscription is expired, and u have to call MS service centre to cancel this feature..

IMHO, juz order 1 year subscription card from GH, play on XBL, and order another card from GH when it expired(which is a year later), rinse and repeat..

He is from Sarawak i guess...impossible to come so far just for a reload card

no need to consider other ways to purchase the thing d...

or you try to talk to Djinn and ask him whether can you bank in money to him and then ask him to give you the reload code....

Gow and Rv6 has their own style of gameplay.Both games also need strategy but of course i admit that Gow need less planning than Rv6 but when u say in gow everybody will rush for their fav weapon ... that would get u killed ... easily and faster. In gow u also need to flank ur enemies and the skill to take out an enemy by actually ... not aiming at all. Try playing wif jaylike and syuiji.Then u know what I am talking about.

Just key your exact address with an additional zero at the end of your postcode. eg. 57000 becomes 570000.

err my way of updating is let it update until like 10% it will show error in updating or sumthing...and then try it again...it will automatically start at last updated...show error then try again and again and again

it's still not 100% up yet after the taiwan's earthquake. sometimes when i wanna reply mesg or send my stripping pic to another xbox live members also got error

Eh, I have feedback from about the RV6 patch. Apparently I heard that if you don't download it in one sitting it can crash your game from time to time. What my friend is trying now is to clear all updates and then to try downloading it again.

What does it mean actually?, bcos i checked my gamer profile is already connected to xbox live. How do i connect to play GoW online with others, or maybe somebody need to invite me first?. By the way my GoW game is original one. Kindly please advice.

you must have register/subscribe your gamertag/gamerprofile to xbox Live GoldMembership account to play online .. you got that message bcoz you only have silver account, cannot play online game .. just can download content in Marketplace only
