I've been experiencing lag. At first I thought it was just bad international connection, but it happens even when I'm playing other Malaysian players.

This is my connection overview:

Yeah, I'm too poor to buy the X360 wireless adapter, so I use connection sharing.

I use Prolink WGR1004 as my router (forwarded properly and all) and Prolink WG2000 as my wireless adapter. My Laptop is very outdated. A P3 1.2ghz 128mb SDRAM heck it doesn't even have a USB 2.0 port! (the WLAN connection is capped at 10mbps, but I don't think that's the problem)

Oh and my Laptop is at idle. I shut off every other PC using the router, my console is hogging everything. My suspect is my Laptop's poor performance, but I'm not sure.

Help! sad.gif

Oh, and I'm on 1mbps tmnut screamyx.

Possible to use a long LAN cable?

Usually playing among msian wont have lag 1.

I will need a VERY long LAN cable. The direct range from my console to my router is roughly 4-5m, but when you try to get by the walls and not let the cable lie around it's going to take twice or thrice as much. I also heard that long LAN cables have more tendency for packet losses to occur. Is this true?

That's why I'm asking the question here. I'm not supposed to experience lag, but when I play GoW everyone is jumpy including me. My shots are also late.

I have tried 60ft without packet loss. Try moving your xbox near the router to test direct connection. If it still lags at least its not due to ur laptop.

I'll try when I have the chance, thanks.

Hmm... are there cheaper and reliable 3rd party wireless adapters out there? Man, eating bread everyday for gaming's sake sucks. As much as I love gaming I love eating more laugh.gif

Buying the adapter is my last resort. I'll hear a few more suggestions first.
