My dearest friends...
As i write this, i recall the first few moments i did before i made my 'revolutionary speech'. It was a hectic day in my office, and i had just move from my house to our new apartment. i have thought long enough of the new guild that i was about to form, and put everything in place, including strategies for making invites, advertisement and setting up web. i have thought of a few names, some silly ones too. at first i thought, i'm just gonna start a new guild, and i will leave it for someone else to take over. im just a firestarter. nothing more. my revolutionary speech is going to be at par with fidel castro or che guevara. a speech just enough to gather hundreds of members in one shot to have a sustainability power.
it was rainy day, i had just gone through massive traffic congestions. i was having migraine and chronic headache. too tired to think actually. but the guild must be started! i ran back to my home and quickly browse into the lowyat.net malaysian tech forum. it was somewhere early December 2006 if i can remember correctly. i click 'post new topic' and wrote my speech. but every time i write, i cancelled it again. this is not right. bah! i'm just gonna go straight to the point. my revolutionary speech turned out to be just a 3 liner statement:
"Hai! im gonna start a new guild on the day burning crusade is release. its going to be 1 month from now. I like to see how many of you is interested. If we get more then 15 members, i'm gonna start it. Please reply in this forum if you are interested. Thanx!."
i post the thread, and goes to sleep. Little did i know that this 3 liner statement is going to have an impact to hundreds of online communities out there, with endless drama and success stories. after 1 month from the day of my 'speech', burning crusade is released, and LoTH was born. We got about 40 members on the first day.
Then I thought, now that i have started it, lets give it to someone who can take care of the guild. but no one wants the responsibilities. i thought i could simply pass it to someone and be a normal member. I was wrong. i turn to my wife and said, .. shit. i'm a gm, what do i do?? she just say, can i get an invite? the rest is history.
My friends. its been more then a year now. i must say that I am proud of this guild. I am proud with what this guild has achieved. But above all else is the sense of brotherhood among the guild members. i think nothing else can beat this. u could have the best progression guild in the whole damn entire world server, but nothing can beat this fellowship. it makes me happy to see the guild members happy. everytime a members wins an epic or defeat an important boss, it gives me a sense of achievement, although many times, i am not involve with those effort. it gives me joy to see guild members that help with each other and achieve things together. many of you contributed in many ways, providing tips, skills, and help. i wish the guild continue this tradition. but most importantly, i like to see the guild continuously maintain the fellowship. so go meet outside! do stuff in RL together! go get married and have kids!
My friends in LoTH. it is time for me to say goodbye. as you all know, i have lots of things to take care now. i got a child to take care. she needs a lot of my attention. Wow will probably be a once a week stuff for me. so i think it is only right for me to pass the baton to the next person in charge. the guild is so strong with mature members and excellent leaders. I wish to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have been very supportive to the guild. without all of you, the guild will not be where it is today.
Rantic is an excellent leader. but he could not make it successfully without the officers and the guild members support. Before i go, i appeal to you, please listen to him, follow his instructions. While i retire and take the passenger seat, i like to see the guild progress further. I like to see the guild finish the next content and beyond. I like to see the guild stays together for a very long time as long as Wow remains relevant in the gaming industry. But if one day wow becomes obsolete, please don't stop to be together, get a new online game, establish LoTH and play together again!
Although i am saying goodbye, this will not be the last of me. i will occasionally join raids and do the normal stuff a normal member would do. i too like to be involved and progress together with the guild members.
With all this, i hereby relinquish all my post as president of LoTH as well as vent administration. I will however maintain the guild domain www.lothguild.org. As a tradition, i would like to organize a handing-over ceremony on the following date, place and time.
Date : 2nd April 08. (wednesday)

Location: The gate of Ogrimmar.
