Try vlc player or mx player on your phone and see...
Only be able to update English firmware only as the it detects the language stated on your serial number in your Yi dashcam... That's how they hacked the Chinese version to install English firmware, by changing the cn to en in the serial number...

it is a known problem for android phones when playing 1080p/60fps video. there will be lag using VLC player or the built in phone video player. but there is a workaround to that but you gonna have to tweak some settings in the Android Developer Mode. There are some tutorials online to teach you how to tweak it.
for me, i just download the standard resolution to my phone via the xiaoyi wifi to view some scenes.
but if you really want to view the high resolution video, you can do it on your pc. no problem viewing 1080p60fps on your pc or laptop.

My Xiaoyi Yi ( less than 1mth old ) video is snowy n quite blur. Video is not sharp . Anybody know whats the problem?

if blur alone, maybe the lens focus point is run away due to loosen result of constant vibration suffering, just need open casing and retune the len until see clear and fix it with hot glue gun.

You need to test out the 1080p 30fps or 60fps. See which you like.
1296p is interpolated from 1080p.

any hint why that 2 different type of file in the SD Card? What the different between the *_S (less than 100 MB) and file without _S (large than 100 MB)? File without the _S are more clear than the _S. * both are same time stamp

The smaller file size movie is for streaming to the phone via wifi... Download faster 30+MB than the full quality 300+MB file...
