This depends on your budget and the frame rate you aim to get.

I see, i've seen ppl talking about 144hz monitor ? what is the cheapest one ? basically with 144hz monitor, a game can go higher than 60fps if your gpu not bottleneck it right ?

Cheapest 1080p 144Hz monitor is around RM 1150, for example, Acer XB240H and BenQ XL2411Z.

Not just the game itself can support up to 144Hz, even the normal desktop also runs on 144Hz which is way smoother than 60Hz, if you haven't tried 144Hz before, then you might think that 60Hz is smooth enough already, but once you tried 144Hz, you will feel the lag when you see 60Hz monitor  biggrin.gif

Find a 144Hz demo monitor and move the mouse cursor and you will know  brows.gif
*
haha, my friend is building a high-end rig, i was suggesting him to get a 144hz monitor as i think it is such a waste to pair a good GPU with a 60hz monitor, again, tqvm for your suggestion thumbup.gif

Technically it should work, but if you are mixing different type of RAM (speed/latency/model), then there is always a chance that your mobo refuses to accept them.
*
tqvm, so dual channel will be neglected then, it does not affect the performance ? so basically if I'm going to get another 16gb of ram, i should get the same type with the existing ram as stated at my signature ? combination of 4gb stick and 8gb stick will still compatible ?

Dual channel will still work (2 x 4GB + 2 x 8GB) because it works in pairs, just make sure you are install the same model in the correct slot (same color).

Getting similar type/model is always recommended.

I seeee, tqvm for the explanation thumbup.gif

Hi Terence, thanks for reply.

I am not getting GTX1070.. what I mean is when they release probably the lower GPU prices will drop. I hope to get a cheaper GTX960 or GTX970 if possible.

Yea i can wait. AMD RX480 is equivalent to Nvidia =? sorry not familiar with AMD but i'm ok with both brand.

You are right, my friends also recommend me to wait..... hmm rolleyes.gif
*
better get RX 480 bro as RX 480 can beat the performance of GTX980/GTX970, and yes, it is AMD product biggrin.gif

My personal opinion:

1. If you are driving to Lowyat Plaza, prepare for massive traffic jam (Jalan Imbi and on the way to LYP).
2. Parking rate is expensive (RM 2.70/hour).
3. Don't think it is possible to get there by public transport (LRT/Monorial/KTM) because it will be very hard for you to bring the rig back to home.
4. Price and product choice aren't that attractive anymore compared to the past.
*
haha, plus the toll fees from Penang to KL sure it is not worth to go there

Paking.

Crowd.

More or less same price.

Got many opt. For me to go like Etech Kepong or idealtech pandan indah. Both are near to my house just parking problem and not to crowd.
*
haha, last time ive been there, too many people, crowded, now also the same even after the pukul case, sure not worth it for a penangite to get their rig there sweat.gif

Have a look at my rig for sale https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3985351

Intel Xeon E5-2670 V1 8-Core/ 16-Thread Passmark score of 12,465 points is higher Lumion 6 requirement of minimum required of 10,000 for recommended setup. GTX 970 meets the 8,000 min point but not 6GB for recommended setup. However okay for moderately complex scenes 6,000 passmark points 4GB RAM. https://lumion3d.com/faq.html

hi, i just found out that my 8gb ram spoilt. it is a value ram. so, may i know is there any difference in performance betwn value ram and regular ram and 'premium' ram (more expensive) one? and are two 8gb ram better than a single 16gb ram?
*
as far as i know, performance ram is better for overclocking as it have a better heatsink compared to value ram, 2x8gb is better than a single 16gb ram as it will run in dual channel, but i think the usage in real life is not that noticeable

is RX480 available already?

thanks.

yup, the reference model, but as there are some issues with the reference RX480 where it will affect the mobo, you should better wait for the non-reference model

Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 249
Kingston 16GB (16GB x 1) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 279 (or 8GB x 2 at RM 298 but will use up all the RAM slots on the mobo)

Price from Techview.

If someone were to go for older generation such as Haswell platform for the same combo, how much price will differ from above quotation ?
