This is usually the problem.

Taking leave, travelling there, time wasted, is oftentimes way more then whatever tax/service charge by poslaju
*
I got friend who lives in nearby area to help me though. It just look like this seems to be conspiracy between kastam and poslaju sad.gif

I never have luck when calling their hotline.

Do you think local post office can track it?
Edit: I called local post office and they cant track beyond that too.

I try to search back all of my past RSAL tracking number that start with "RM" and all of them stop tracking after it left KLIA, but in the past I can track them till the very last moment.
My past RSAL that start with "RA" still able to track to the end.
It seems like there are problem with poslaju tracking with tracking number starting with "RM"

What's the last status?

This is the latest status. It dint alarm me at first because it could take 2-4 days from KLIA to reach KK, but it already been 6 working day and no update. All of my past tracking with "RM" also stuck at that status, despite I can view it in the past.

Btw which number do you guys call to ask this kind of stuff, is it 1-300-300-300?
*
That hotline rarely not busy. Maybe you need to call KK post office. Or KK kastam

Fellow Sifu, I need to ask for your favor.

Any of you buy from AmiAmi recently?
How many copy of paperwork/invoice does AmiAmi provide?
Any of the paperwork that come with your box have detail description of the figure name?

Thanks in advance.
*
No need detail. Kastam just need document that says how much the item value. You can just print the shipping notification email they sent.

What’s a good way to sell off my old animu figure collections? I bought a lot of them during my peak weeb days, and I really don’t have space to properly display them. They remain sealed in their boxes for years.

Some even got water damage (but the figures inside are safe due to the plastic shell) because my parents house had a leaky roof.

Tfw shouldn’t have bought them but I was too young and dumb back then

Hello everyone. I just found this forum and I have a question regarding ordering nsfw figure into Malaysia. So right now I am in USA and I can order any figures I want without any concern (plus no custom fee for figure) but next year I'm gonna come back to Malaysia. I am thinking to continue this collecting anime figures hobby. So right now I am collecting ODA-NON figures series title Non-Virgin (MFC link). I already pre-order 2 out of 5 figures. So another 3 will be probably come out next year, so will I be able to get pass through the custom? And one more, can anyone tell me how much would they charge for the custom fee?
*
Uh oh you might have problem later then. From the looks of it, if custom here ever open the packaging and check, most probably the figurine will be confiscated, with little to no chance of ever recovering it (custom here won't even send back to the sender). Usually to avoid custom open the packaging and check, the parcel usually will have the value under-declared; safest is item value + shipping is less than RM 500. Custom will open parcel that was declared to be more than RM 500 in value.

One more reason custom will open your parcel and check the item is when they're suspecting something about the item; usually when item's declared value seems to be too cheap compared to the packaging size. This bring us to the second problem; those Non-Virgin figures were 1/4, and with standing position the box will be big (or at least very tall). If you're unlucky, custom will get suspicious about the parcel and proceed to open them, in which the NSFW figure will be confiscated.

Custom tax is only 6%, but the figure being NSFW might resulted in them getting confiscated if custom ever open the package to check. I guess the safest way to circumvent this is having someone cover the tits and genital, with maybe bra and panties for dolls of the same scale then only ship to you.

Hello fellow collector, I just wanna ask about Hobby Link Japan, anyone have purchase figure form them? Is it reliable in term of shipping and cost?
*
Definitely yes. Although they don't pad the shipping box as much as amiami.

I see. This is gonna be a problem tho. I probably gonna have more nsfw figures in the future but this is suck. I found malaysian online website (ToyPanic) for preorder these nsfw figures but you are gonna wait one year from the release date to get the figures. Anyways thanks for the reply.

If you can underdeclare the value, most of the time it will pass.

Hi guy,

i need help as i got 1 item shipped out from japan (mandrake) to malaysia using DHL shipping and now kena crazy high import tax as u can see my figure value is around only RM211 but charge me crazy high tax RM157 is really crazy and so is it possible to avoid this totally? Thanks
*
I kena something like this before. Basically when using DHL, the shipping cost was calculated according to certain table, regardless of what you actually paid for the shipping. And the value inside the table was much more expensive than what actually paid. That's the only and last time I'm using DHL to ship stuff from Japan.

QUOTE(squall_12 @ Jun 1 2018, 02:56 PM)
i thought for start june no more gst and so tax should be free as well sad.gif
*
If kastam checked your parcel before 1 june then kena maybe.

What item you bought actually? Last time when I bought bunch of keychains together with figures (total over rm 500), the keychains were taxed at 20% while the figures 6% (GST)

RM300+ shipping?  hmm.gif  must be very heavy item. I tot shipping cost usually 100 to 200+
*
In my case last time Amiami charged me around 2k yen for DHL. When the item was detained by kastam and taxed, the tax receipt shows shipping cost was quoted as more than RM 200. Anyway squall_12, from which kastam they tax you for this?

I dont see how you can escape this, either can drive to Sepang and nego yourself or just pay.

For me, i wont waste time driving there...

He's in Penang. Though one of my friend who worked in kastam in Klang Valley area told me toys shouldn't get taxed since before this toys were taxed under GST only. And since GST is zero-rated there shouldn't be tax anymore. Actually can anyone show where it stated that import tax for toys is 20%? Can't find it so far when I checked.

Currently I have parcel with total worth of 51k yen from Amiami. Tracking status already "Departure from inward office of exchange" since yesterday but I'm yet to receive the item. If I safely receive it, at least in KL somewhat safe. But then again the items were action figures and model kits, which according to my friend who worked in kastam shouldn't get taxed by tax other than GST,;since GST is actually still in effect, just the rate is 0. Not sure PVC figure falls under same category. But different state might employ different protocol, so maybe for Penang instead of treating GST still exist (thus should apply the 0% rate), they treated it as GST have been abolished, and so applied the import tax instead.

Update

The 51k yen shipment arrived today. So at least shipped to KL by EMS, collectables over RM 500 that were taxed with 6% GST back then should be tax free until September. Not sure about DHL

want to ask, any1 bought any figures lately import from japan - amiami, etc

whats the est. price for ems shipment - 1 figure, medium to large box

ty

Hmm from my observation so far (this apply to in-stock items, send using EMS)
First, you go to Hobby Search ( http://www.1999.co.jp/eng ) then look for the item. In the item page you scroll down abit until can see the weight. Then, add 60% to the weight, then compare with EMS rate table (the next highest) http://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/charge/list/ems_all_en.html (see Asia column)

For example, consider this Play Arts : http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-036288
In Hobby Search the page is: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10513773
Scroll down that page and you can see the weight is 584g, so add 60% to weight will make it around 934g. Compare it to EMS rate table, the next highest rate that is close to 934g is 1kg, which is 2,100yen. This is the price amiami quoted me for EMS for the Play Arts Kai Tina Branford. Japan EMS seems to use actual weight for the shipping cost. If your figure box is big but it doesn't weight much, what will contribute to the shipment weight later is the weight of the shipment box (bigger box will weight more)

Might not be accurate but shouldn't be far from the actual shipping cost (maybe few threshold lower or higher)

Yeah, I also don't understand why the hell we're being charged according to the schedule instead of the actual shipping cost. Seems to me it's just a cheap and ridiculous excuse for them to tax us and make some easy money.
Have you ever tried asking your friend how the schedule works and what's the logic behind it? There seems to be very little info online on what the damn thing actually is.
*
From what my friend told me the table was given by courier
