Greeting everyone! Any enlisted army or navy men/women here? I'm keen on joining after I finish my degree. If I've read the website correctly, it's somewhat similar to the States in terms of Officer school, considering I'll be entering with a university degree.

Could anyone shed some light on the enlisting process? I remotely remember that the public service + police and military was frozen a couple of years back. Have they started recruiting again? Would appreciate any feedback from anyone who's currently serving. Thanks!

They are reguler soldier. In AASAM competition, there is not only shooting skill competition. But also military technique and physics endurance to be competed.

I believe there are not from olympic squad but most of them are from kompasus..told by some tni officers...while other country most probably just send regular unit..

If i not mistaken malaysia just send winners from ujian kemahiran menembak TD je kan?

Haha it bugs me when I mention police force deployed at Lahad Datu incident, some people imagine that beat cops in blue, armed with revolvers, (like those patrolling their neighborhood), went to fight the Sulu intruders back then.

At least one person was genuinely surprised when I said the PGA are fully trained and armed paramilitary troopers. When I explained that PGA was sort of like soldiers belonging to the PDRM, the only reaction I got was "Got such thing meh?". 

Considering only 2 troopers were KIA, I'd say the PGA did a good job. Note that the Army also lost 2 soldiers, although one of them died in a traffic accident.

People who always cited that the PDRM lost a lot of men conveniently forgot that out of the 10 total casualties including the above, 6 were plainclothes Special Branch officers who were ambushed by heavily armed gunmen in Semporna water village.
