With Maybank starting their eFD campaign in 2 days time, how do they detect fresh funds electronically? Should I just transfer out then transfer back in to consider as fresh funds or..? Anyone have experience in this from other banks for eFD?

How do you know it is confirmed getting the promo rate of 4.31%? When you click on "view my accounts", the interest rate is as per the promo rate?

I met with the RM today to confirm on this, she said after checking with her officer, uplift eFD to savings and then to place in eFD (Conventional) will not be considered as fresh fund, but I hv no idea how the system going to trace this.

Regarding Maybank 4.31% eFD promotion, I called maybank customer service 30 mins ago to clarify the definition of "fresh funds", as stipulated on the T&C.

He defined that as long as the "fresh funds" is from the Maybank savings/current account, and get deposited into the 12 months conventional eFD as per the guideline (credit to account) - then the eFD "fresh funds" requirement is fulfilled.

For clarity sake, I asked him : what if i uplift my existing eFD (say GIA-I), then put it into the new eFD 4.31% account? He replied: well, when you uplift from GIA-I, the money gets credited to your current/savings account first. Then you put the money into the eFD 4.31% account. So that is considered OK - i.e. fulfilling the "fresh funds" requirement.

I hope he did not Oscar me. Having said that, I have experimented placing the eFD today - the placement was successful, screenshot was as per provided by another forumer in previous post. and it is true that no way Maybank can trace if the money is from existing $ in account, or got transferred from other banks.

As such, i choose to believe the explanation from the customer service.
Hope this helps.

as long as they dont suddenly decide to do a rollback on the FD then i think its fine. Otherwise they will get a lot of angry customers. If their system fail to detect then its their problem not ours.

I wonder how other banks (that supports eFD) does this for campaign rates?
