Shoei products is very expensive because of the materials and technology they put in producing the helmets. You can go through their site here. Market value usually between RM1.3k to Rm10k. But some of them are discontinued. This is what make it rare and valuable among item collectors. Not just in Malaysia, even in japan the price also like that. But, well... people who bought the helmet with that price tag may be plain stupid or richfag.

I understand the tech/ safety & materials. These are updated constantly. And you do not need to pay like RM70K for them. RM10K is fair price for brand new at that period of time. Collectible is debatable. The price is actually quote as you go. If you count technical details of value like degradation of materials then the helmet is no value.
