To credit VW, the TSI (turbocharged) and DSG gearbox indeed a killer machine on the road. No regret if you are looking for a great performance car.

Having said that, the technology (TSI & DSG) suffers from defect (i personally called it). The TSI and DSG both are wear and tear part and no one can tell when is going to break. You got to know it in and out about the technology especially the DSG, for example, What are the common symptoms of DSG failure and risk should DSG failed while on the high speed.

Another nightmare you need to deal with is the VW Service Center unless you are avoiding them then you can ignore this message. The VW service center has so far not meeting customer expectation. Some VW owner do compliment but mostly are complaints. Not having mention the road assistance service also another terrible experience. Don't hope Volkswagen Malaysia would be assisting, more than often they are ignorant, not listening, and not value to customer feedback.

I owned a Jetta 1.4 and it was pleasure and fun to drive. By coincidence, few times on the North-South Highway, joining 2-3 VW car zig zag-ing overtaken car was fun. The power that the TSI gives you and the DSG smooth transmission gearbox was perfect married for this machine.

One of my friend told me the laggy at low speed could be because of turbo lag.

Good luck and hope you would marry with the Volkswagen Passat CC. (Despite all the negative feedback about VW). smile.gif

Cheers.

If it still has official warranty and extended warranty, then make sure the car is sent back to any official SC to service every 15000km. Do not exceed the mileage by 1500km or warranty will void. They are very strict on this.

You only need to change the engine and gearbox oil with them, everything else like air cond filter, tires or brake pads etc are considered wear and tear items and can be changed elsewhere without warranty issues.

If no warranty then why bother going back?

Bro, Any recommendation service VW outside of VW SC? The warranty going expired this year and looking to do regular maintenance outside VW SC. Thanks.
