how much it cost to wrap bonnet and front bumper?
*
QUOTE(theanswerL2 @ May 3 2016, 12:06 PM)
agree. but how much transparent wrap, after wrap do it still ned to waxing or polish.
*
I'm not exactly sure about the price, but a decent wrap cost around 3-4k for whole car with better ones costing more. I don't know about the maintenance part of it, can go ask the service provider.

I myself didn't do a transparent wrap, I don't have the $$$ for the time being. But my front end has some pock marks already as I drive rather fast on the highway. Maybe a little later, I'll do a coloured wrap as those cost lesser and can have unique colours without resorting to painting. Further, can remove it when get sick about it without damaging the original coat of paint and clear coat.

anyone facing engine timing belt sound at low rev like old car??
*
The Skyactiv engines use timing chain, not belt. Care to elaborate/describe the sound in better detail.

It is normal that the chain sound is louder when the engine is cold when starting in early morning. After a while the noise will be less.

Example like when I slow down my car to pass a bump and acc, there is a sound like "tick tick tick"
*
I think should be related to the characteristic sound of a direct injected engine, nothing to worry about. It is kind of like diesel clatter, just not to that extent. If the "tik tik tik" sound is throughout the rev range, that is something really wrong.

but but but.....i want sport rims laugh.gif
*
Save your money for petrol or tyres la....if really want change rims, save up for a proper forged set. They are expensive but stronger and lighter then standard cast units.

QUOTE(Ginny88 @ May 4 2016, 09:47 AM)
Then call a workshop to come and jumpstart your car. Once your car is started just a short trip will recharge the battery.
*
Short trip can't recharge the battery sufficiently, need at least a 20km highway run for a good charge. There's possibility that the battery totally died as some battery cannot be revived after totally flat. After start, go to nearest workshop or service centre (if can claim battery).

Wait for new Civic launch, then go back and ask whether got better discounts. This one sure will take some demand away from Mazda.

Or else, can ask some of the sales advisors that are active in the forum and in the automotive garage sale section.

how serious is it? i noticed mine also got water inside after a heavy downpour, but just the top part, the reverse light and signal light is still dry
*
Mine has water vapour over the whole reverse light module including the red part. I just let the service administrator know about it when i was there for service. I let her see a past photo and she physically see that got water vapour in it. Then she straight away go get approval to claim warranty on that part.

damn....that is good service, gonna try to snap picture if i drive in heavy downpour again, but mine dont have vapour though
*
Mostly due to good timing, as I was going for normal service, still got visible water vapour in the lamp cover. So I got dual verification when making the claim, one from photo (i snap the photo during the rain with raining background and wet car) and another one from physical verification by the servicing admin on service day.

2.2 D is nice, 2.0 skyactiv-G already has 200nm torque, maybe 2.2 D will have something like 250-300? since 2.5D turbocharged is 450nm
*
The 2.2 diesel comes in 2 tune :
150hp/315nm
175hp/350nm

There is no 2.5D, only 2.5 petrol turbo for the new upcoming CX9.

QUOTE(Ginny88 @ May 25 2016, 09:41 AM)
Besides diesel engines have impressive max torque but they run out of grunt fast as this torque is only over a limited rpm range.
*
In normal driving, the torque curve is more favourable to the driver as the bulk of the torque comes in between 2000-3000rpm without the need to change gears, where most overtaking are required. So just step and go, quite effortless decent acceleration. Do you own a diesel vehicle before or feel the torque kick of a modern diesel car?

On a normal naturally aspirated car, it takes rather long to wait for the torque to arrive at higher RPM range of 4000 and above (unless you drop a few gears) or you have a turbocharged car.

QUOTE(aimeh @ May 25 2016, 09:47 AM)
Diesels engine need more care than normal engine. So have to be sure what you going to get and prepare well for it before getting it.
*
Diesel engines are made more robust than petrol versions as they have to deal with the higher compression and torque when the engine is in operation. So they are technically more tahan lasak.

The expensive maintenance mainly on the diesel particulate filter (DPF) exhaust after treatment (which our regulating authorities are not imposing and also from crap quality diesel) which can get choked off from too frequent short runs, stop go traffic or cold engine runs (which most of us face daily in malaysia). That one cost quite a lot to replace when fully choked off. Need to have at least once highway drive a week to let the DPF regenerate/burn off the soot accumulated.

Another killer is the dual mass flywheel (DMF). A lot of the german marques' DMF die starting as short as 50k km. Some last longer but will still eventually fail longer down the road. Most of the owners (i refer to UK/Europe) lease diesel vehicles as mostly after 3/4 years, the problem starts and they change their lease to a newer car to avoid the headaches. Also the urea (or AdBlue) that needs to be refilled after 2 or 3 fuel pump visits. Without all these, the diesel exhaust is extremely polluting. Imagine all the diesel exhaust crap in the air we breathe in daily considering that our government is not enforcing emissions control and the combination of crap quality diesel and old age engines running around with plumes of dark clouds. Wonder you ever heard the term "rolling coal"?

Hi Jim, in your case, can the music/ radio cover the noise if u cross over speed bump fast?
It happens only when crossing speed bumps?
pot holes or uneven roads wont got sound?
*
If you enter a corner with uneven surface, the knocking sound will be very prominent. When it rains and you cross a speed hump, it sounds "ngek"....

If official genuine parts can't solve it even after replacing, hope that few years down the road, got aftermarket parts that can solve it...
