From where to Ipoh? Hill drive is nice with M3.
Be careful and safe journey.
*
KL to Ipoh, bro...no worries, I will keep it within the speed limit. Will be keeping an ear out to the tyre roar..to see if I wanna do wheel arch coating. So far, driving along federal highway is ok for me lar...the tyre roar almost similar to my Inspira.

What would be the best tyre pressure to maintain, most just driver and front passenger only ? I know it's subjective...just getting some feedback. Right now I've kept it at 270 kPa

already tried it last week, 150 km/h feel like 50 km/h only if minus the noise

when around tapah hill area, try change to 4th gear and keep your rpm above 4k, can really feel the push when the car accelerate at maximum torque thumbup.gif

Hahaha...I'm sure it's good.

Definitely need to do balancing & alignment...vibrates between 90kmh - 120kmh. Other than the drive to Ipoh was nice. Very bored driving at 110kmh...so did 135kmh for few minutes...lol
Heavy rain at one point..surprisingly didn't hear "tin-can roof" sound effect..only the rain drops on the windscreen. Need to drive in the rain again...

Most of the time I'm with my GF only, barely will take people at the back. City driving, I keep it at 250kpa and I felt the tyre roar become softer. On highway, I will pump more to like yours, 270 / 280 kpa for better rolling.  blush.gif Perhaps it's just my own opinion la..
*
I suppose it's trial and error to see which best suited for each individual. Think I will stick to 270 kpa...PJ roads are horrendous...best to keep the rims from damage I guess.

Did your car steer to the left when driving on the straight road? I noticed mine will slowly steer to the left, hopefully is just the alignment

If the road noise bothers you, you can turn on the auto sound leveling to +5 to cover the road noise

But after a while the road noise didn't seems to bother me la

Next time you can try 130kmh throughout the journey and 170 for a few minutes whistling.gif
*
Hmmm..didn't notice the steering to the left on straight roads...will take note of it on the return trip.

Actually I feel the road noise is the same as Inspira or maybe slightly better...and Inspira was on 205/60 16 inch Michellin Primacy ST3...lol.

Hey Peeps,

My car's balancing is out...vibrates between 90 - 125kmh. Nothing unusual as i understand coming out from the factory, the alignment and balancing may not be spot on.

A friend of mine who drives a CX5 told me that he has been having this balancing issue at the same speed range for the past few months. Every time he balances his tyres, it will off again in abt 3 months and at the same 90-125kmh range.

Many factors could be in play here but i was just wondering if any of you guys experience the same ?

Cheers.

I sent my car to do balancing & alignment on the day I collected my car, usually will not that accurate from showroom. I did the same on my 2 previous cars, first thing after collected the car is to my trusted tyre shop to do balancing & alignment.
*
Yea...I plan to do that after my 1st service. Want the SC to check on a "tok" sound from the front right side.

It seems like the engine bay of m3 insulate heat very well, even after 2 hours parked under shady area after 1 hour city drive I still can feel the heat rushing out like volcano when I open the bonnet.

Is it higher CC car also like this?
*
I think it's bcoz of the engine bay cover at the bottom..so basically interferes with heat dissipation.

Am getting the car very soon. Just got loan approved yesterday. CKD Hispec. Going to sign the loan agreement tomorrow at the showroom. Getting so excited. Apparently the salesman told me that if I want to wait for latest batch (2016) have to wait by end of April. I told him just take the 2015 batch (but still be registered in 2016) for fast delivery and I did.

Hope I made the right decision.
*
Mind sharing where you booked your car ? o.O

I got my HS 10 days ago and it's a 2016 year of manufacture batch. And it took less than 2 weeks from booking to delivery of the car.

If you're getting a 2015 batch, make sure the salesman gives you a good discount.

Hey folks,

I'm gonna go in for my 1st service soon. Anyone using fully synthetic engine oil for their ride ?
The free service uses semi-synthetic engine oil but i'm wondering if its ok for a 6 months/10,000km service interval. I don't mind topping up for fully synthetic though.

Gotta check a few things during the service:
1. "Tok" sound from the front suspension..sound like its coming from the right hand side.

2. Occasional "gong" sound from the back..usually when turning up to a carpark ramp or a mid-corner bumper on the road.

3. "Tik-tik" sound coming from the centre of the dashboard on bumpy roads. This i might live with it as I'm reluctant to open up the dashboard...might create even more sounds after opening it up blink.gif

Anyway, coming from a Proton which was a like an orchestra, the above sounds are pretty minimal to me laugh.gif

What I know:

Engine oil: Take note that there are some SC provide 2 FULL SYNC Engine Oil(EO) from Shell. If not mistaken la,
1. Topup RM 150+-, Full Sync with grade 5-40w or 10-40w. Can't remember. Hope some members could clarify.
2. Topup RM 220+-, Full Sync with grade 5-30w.
1. Never heard of "tok" sound. Instead of "tok", oftenly we heard is"kruk kruk" sound. Occurred mostly when the vehicle passing any uneven road surface or go over a bump.

2. No idea. My car didn't create such noise. Lucky though. notworthy.gif

3. "Tik Tik" sound. No idea. But noise source coming from center of dashboard, you may want to check the your sunglasses holder. Else, let SC to identify for you.  thumbsup.gif

I also upgraded from Persona. Well, it doesn't sounds like orchestra. Because I will try to identify and eliminates the noise as much as I can, same as in now.

I still trying to figure out the way to eliminates the ticking noise coming from the glove box on passenger side. The black box is creating the ticking noise, no matter how I tighten the cables with cable tie, squeeze some sponge inside. The noise is still there. Damn~ shakehead.gif

Haha..thanks mate.

You must've been lucky with your Proton. My Inspira, a nice car it was, but had lot of suspension noises and buzzing/rattling interior panels within the first couple of months of ownership. Took some time to rectify most of it but the suspension noises and buzzing panels kept coming back till i got fed-up and got immune to it.

Think i will take my time to identify the minor interior noise in the M3.

The semi is good enough. 6 months oil change is actually considered very short, even decent mineral oil (Honda has mineral oil option even for 10k km oil change) will still be quite ok at this point. My opinion is to just save the cash and stick with the free oil. For the price they charge for the fully synthetic upgrade, can get even better fully synthetic oils if you know where to find.

For me, I just go with the free oil and the car still performing fine as I'm approaching my 3rd service schedule soon. The free oil is lighter, so the engine can rev faster and save a little more petrol. Only go for fully synthetic if you love to rev the engine hard, always have heavy load, crazy jam all the time of your driving and/or a lot of uphill drives.

Enjoy your new ride

Just collected the car last Friday. M3HS. 1st 10 mins after driving the car from showroom already noticed:

1. Front lower arm 'tuktuk' sound going over speed hump
2. Clunking sound coming from the rear side (something like light zinc metal sound making contact to chassis/other exterior metal parts) when going over uneven road.. Already check spare tyres, Jack, tools all in secured position.

Will the SC be able to assist this issue when I send the car during 1st 1000km service? I hope they won't give any BS excuse (by looking at customer's complaints over social media) not to fix this kind of issue. How's the Mazda procedure for sending in the car? Can just walk-in or have to set an appointment?
*
Ahhh...sounds like what i am experiencing. My HS is 2.5 weeks now...started getting those sounds within a few days of collecting the car. Gonna do my 1st service this Thursday and will highlight to the SC.

I think best you make an appointment with the SC, just to make sure you get a slot. If you walk-in, they might busy for the day and you would've wasted your time etc.

I'm probably the odd one out.. Am getting an M3 Hatchback soon

Anything I should look out for upon delivery?  hmm.gif
*
Congrats...the hatch is sexy. Love those exposed twin tail pipes but sadly for the Sedan, it is hidden behind the bumper blink.gif

Just the usual checks on delivery:

1. Even paint job
2. Consistent panel gaps
3. Power windows work
4. Door handles not sticky
5. Start up the car and listen to the engine for unusual noises
6. Check the interior for any damage / torn seats
7. Lights working etc
8. All manuals/service booklets/tools are in the car

Take your time to go through the car before signing the acceptance form. The SA shouldn't rush you into it...its your money going into this car icon_rolleyes.gif

Just finished my 1st service this morning.
I've decided to use the free semi-syn oil. Odd that need to use 5L of oil blink.gif My 2.0 Inspira used abt 4.3L only.

Suspension knocking sound is due to the bump stopper apparently..need to order the parts and come back again in 2 weeks time. Think I'll just get it done during the 2nd service.

For the metallic sound at the back, they've tightened some nuts and adjusted the exhaust bracket or something like that. My guess is its the exhaust heat shield they've adjusted.
Anyway, fast and friendly service 👍
