Hullo peeps,

I went for a test drive of the High Spec...i like what i see and the drive is good. The interior is a kind of cramped or "cosy" if want for a better term...Lol. Currently driving an Inspira 2.0..getting tired of it..or shall I say bored of it.
Engine is smooth revving but the tyre roar is although its about the same level as the Inspira which is riding on 60-series tyres Michellin Primacy ST3. Shows how bad the Inspira's wheel well soundproofing is =.=
After that i went to test the Passat...itchy backside since the Passat is on Promo at about the same price as Mazda

Of coz can't compare lah..2 different segments...The Passat no doubt is a much refined vehicle, very powerful too. But its at its at the end of its life cycle and god knows what the resale value will be in 4-5 years time. And i think i'm not ready for a D-Segment Conti at the moment, even though the Passat's pricing is very tempting.

True the rear passenger space is a little cramp...i'm comparing against the inspira. Anyway, I hardly have rear passengers...most of the time the front passenger seat is only occupied.

Somehow i felt the sound system in the Mazda 3 (6 speakers) to be better than the Passat (8 speakers)..to my ears lah. I always have music on when driving...so its one of the criteria that i look for in a car. If only the High Spec comes with Bose..wishful thinking

Passat is RM116,000 with OTR at abt RM120,000. Selling fast though...the VW showrooms were packed. According to the salesperson, there's about 1000 units nationwide and since the promo started last week, 600 units have been taken up.

Yea...1.8 Turbo...160bhp with 250nm torque.

It's the smooth power delivery with the quick shifting DSG that impresses and also the solid ride it gives. Well that's how D-segment contis are.

It looks dated lah..very 'uncle' looking but still better looking than the Camry...hahaha. Passat is a good family car i would say.

The 116k is for the 2015 Passat. They also have 2014 Passats which are going for 109k but limited colours, mostly white.

The Jettas are all 2014 stock and are going for rm89k. I think it comes with some bodykit..based on what i saw at the showroom.

My company had 3 Jettas as company cars...we sold it off after 3 years..non-stop headaches. One even had its engine block changed bcoz of cylinder compression problem. But Jettas are very powerful..really gives you kick...abou the same output as the Passat but the Jettas twin-charged engines are really good. Just that its not so reliable. I think VW are gonna stop producing those twin charged engines.

Yes correct...its to clear their stocks..2014 and 2015. They're getting ready to launch the new Passat..think its 2nd qtr 2016.

Hey guys, any idea when the facelifted Mazda 3 will be launched here ? Since most of Mazda's current line-up has been facelifted, wondering if its wise to wait for the facelift version.

Yea tyre roar is on the high side, the tyres being the culprit I suppose.
True..the sound system is pretty good, I find it better than the system in the VW Passat.

Speaking of the HUD, does it also show the navigation arrows ?

Actually i find the HUD a bit uncomfortable...maybe bcoz i'm using multifocal specs...sudah tua

Apparently the HUD screen cant be turned off. I suppose i'll get used to it.

I can't seem to find the function...so I'm assuming there's none ?

Wow..my tyre pressure was 370kPa
And i was driving around for 4 days with that pressure...not long distance though. I was thinking the ride cant be this hard fro 45 series tyres until i checked. Now i've reduced it to 270 kPa. Hopefully the structure of the tires are ok....

My odo had abt 48km when collected the car...apparently the distance from the yard, which is fine with me. Just that it was driven with that insanely high tyre pressure.
