QUOTE(ktek @ Sep 15 2016, 05:34 PM) pioneer must demo before buy. the sound has too much treble energy after mcacc calibrate. not intelligent eq as compared to audyssey calibrate. Still doing some reading on this calibrate thing...nice info broyamaha ypao i think got intelligent eq. QUOTE(fx20 @ Sep 15 2016, 07:01 PM) This speaker wont disappoint you. If you can find a speaker better than this even 2-3 time of its price. I am willing to take it back from you, QUOTE(fx20 @ Sep 15 2016, 07:05 PM) Strongly recommend you to go at least with mcacc advanced, and make sure your avr comes with x-curve (my elite has this and it is very handy). Once you have calibrated, if you find it too bringht, normalized with x-curve to 1 or 1.5db. So many stuff...i think the high end series have it actually QUOTE(fx20 @ Sep 15 2016, 07:07 PM) Thanks everyone for your supports and recommendation ... Its still look gorgeous on my poor hp camera πI have never realized they look so good in those pics... QUOTE(fx20 @ Sep 15 2016, 07:18 PM) It was sold by AV123. Now, they are licensed to be distributed by Curve Acoustics. This is the X-series models: x-mtm, x-ls and x-cs. The Encore is the 2nd revision (aka mk2), improvement of tweeter and cross-over. The x series was designed by Danny Ritchie. Unlike branded, this Xls encore has not advertised anywhere, all by piece of mouth. There were more than 2000 pairs sold in USA alone. QUOTE(SSJBen @ Sep 15 2016, 11:57 PM) Would suggest to stay away from the VSX series of Pioneer. They're as bad as Onkyo in reliability these days. Any beginner model suggestions for elite series hope not over my budgetIf you really want a Pioneer, save up for an Elite SC/LX series instead. QUOTE(ktek @ Sep 16 2016, 08:33 AM) normal version dont have xcurve (treble reducer) I think vsx 830 have the mcacc advance feature..this is the only model have the advanced function..other vsx they all using mcacc proonly saw in elite lx. qc become abg adik after merge? QUOTE(SSJBen @ Sep 16 2016, 01:52 PM) More or less. I personally had 2 friends who bought a VSX-924 and 930, both died within 5-8 months. Yup its not laughing matter anymore... after spending around 2k for avr later died within 1 year means its really a serious matter actually..really hard to make decisionsThen check owners thread around the web, all complaining the same thing also. If it's not blown caps or HDMI board failure, it will be something firmware related like unresponsive GUI all of a sudden, causing the entire receiver to freeze. *EDIT* Of course I know my experience on Pioneer's low-end AVRs reliability rate has no objectivity data in it, but just reading and looking at the issues all over the web and it's not a laughing matter anymore. |

QUOTE(ericlai @ Apr 25 2017, 11:53 AM) Hi Guys, i recently just purchased a pair of Sony ss-cs3 and a cs8. Paired with Denon x2300w AVR. They sounded warm and wide. Cant believe Sony can produce such nice floor standing speakers at reasonable price. Glad u like the sony Now i would like to upgrade my sub. Now using lousy sub from Pioneer. My budget is around RM1.5k. Is the sub below good? Klipsch R-10SW - RM1,499 Yamaha NS-SW300 - RM1,299 FYI, i'm currently staying in a condo, all my HT gadgets are placed in the living room with limited space for sub. Thanks in advance for advice! QUOTE(ericlai @ Apr 25 2017, 03:40 PM) Thanks for the reply and tips! Yea, i heard great stories about SVS sub and i always thought the price is out of my league =D i don't know how to see whether a second hand sub is working in good condition or not. Kinda skeptical to spend few thousand for a second hand item =D No worries u can buy second hand sub with confident just get it from reliable seller like maxxaudiovisual or actsesseory..this people are svs dealer for Malaysia..u can ask them for second hand unit..some of second hand unit have warranty..if tight budget second hand svs pb1000 will be a good deal for smaller space.. |

QUOTE(ericlai @ Apr 25 2017, 09:35 PM) I've contacted them, actsesseory quoted me RM2.2k for a used SVS sb-1000. maxxaudiovisual only have 2000 series which is rm3k above, out of my budget =D Go with brother ssjben advised..it's normal when u have luck u will get second hand pb1000 if not have to wait till someone to let go their svs..for condo svs sb1000 still a good choice..try nego abit...i wonder a sealed sub is able to perform well in movies. PB1000 is nice, however it size is way too big for my living room area =( the size of sb1000 is just nice QUOTE(stilo10 @ Apr 25 2017, 09:41 PM) Bro u become Svs sifu adi now... so familiar wt it now... haha! Sifu hehe im getting heart attack...I think should be below 2.5k last time 2k below.. for pb2000 and sb2000 3.8k last time more cheaper haiish eyeing on 2000 series...Btw wats the price for pb1000 used unit now? QUOTE(SSJBen @ Apr 25 2017, 10:18 PM) You didn't state the size of your living room, so no one can give you an accurate answer. Sub + room size = x performance, they are both related. A sealed sub will never have the output of a ported sub, this is simply physics. Ported subs has a port to push more air and they are usually in a bigger enclosure, these 2 things alone will always beat a sealed sub especially when it comes to frequencies under 30hz. The difference is even more significant under 20hz (ULF). You mentioned you live in a condo. I have no idea how thick your condo walls are, but the chances of annoying all your neighbours is pretty high if you opt for a sub that pushes a lot of output in the lower octaves. A single SB1000 will do pretty well in room sizes around 1300 cu. ft (or 130 square feet~). By "well" I mean solid output down to 25hz~, which in comparison to many RM1k+ subs is substantial. My suggestion, get a SB1000 now. Then in the future get another SB1000. Engage in multiple subs, not just a single one. This post has been edited by sivanathan04: Apr 26 2017, 02:13 AM |

QUOTE(stilo10 @ Apr 28 2017, 01:30 PM) Dream of course for 16U series but in reality only 2000 series... Yup should have promo here what to do Malaysia boleh..3-4k easily snap up... our buying power here not bad... too bad PSA is so expensive and not well promoted here... shd have promo laa... not even available here in the Audio shop around in KL for demo I supposed... how PSA appointed such AD QUOTE(SSJBen @ Apr 28 2017, 04:09 PM) Between the 2000 series ported sub, I'd rather go for the PC2000 over the PB2000. They perform very similarly but the PC2000 actually has a slight bit more output and also cleaner transition of the ULF octaves towards the midbass. It's not very significant, borderline noticeable in fact. Great info bro tq for that how much price differences between pb2000 and pc2000 now....pc2000 is space saving too...But theoretically, the PC2000 is cheaper than the PB2000 because it comes with the soundpath feets (which... doesn't really work honestly, unless you are on plywood floors or something). Those 4 feets already cost RM360. |

QUOTE(stilo10 @ Apr 28 2017, 04:36 PM) Yeah, Pc2000 is easier to place but somehow it is not in demand as Pb... maybe @bro sivanathan04 you consider it... Yup can consider bro but not easy to get second hand unit for pc2000 because less demand@Ben What about PC13U over PB13U... since it was discontinued maybe can opt for PC series... any idea? |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Apr 28 2017, 05:13 PM) The PB2000 and PC2000 are priced the same. I think there may be a bit of confusion when I said the PC2000 is cheaper. It's "cheaper" because the cost of adding the soundpath isolation feets are already counted in the PC2000's price tag. Yup agree with u bro many people still prefer bose and logitech Promos are kind of pointless in boleh land because most people would rather just buy some logitech speaker or bose or something like that. Waste all the money for promo to get like 5 buyers, for what? Exposure? Those who already knows the brand will find a way to get it. Those who doesn't know, like I said... their knowledge starts at "logitech speakers cukup, got boom boom already what, no meh?" Good luck trying to educate them in a short brand promo, next to impossible. Good thing the internet exists these days. The PB13u has more output over the PC13u. This is simply due to size. I mean, SVS could make a bigger PC13u when they designed it but that would defeat the whole purpose of a cylinder sub to begin with right (this is also why a PC16u doesn't exist, according to them)? PB13u is not discontinued btw, just not being brought in anymore. I think you can still get a special order from Max, I'm not sure though. That said, the PC13u is absolutely no slouch. It's still a 20hz monster, consumer subs wise. |
