For movie sub which is smaller than 10" is really not recommended
*
Yes for movies, I agree with it. Personally, I will go with minimum 12" (if space not an issue).

Yeah, Pc2000 is easier to place but somehow it is not in demand as Pb... maybe @bro sivanathan04 you consider it... brows.gif

@Ben What about PC13U over PB13U... since it was discontinued maybe can opt for PC series... any idea?

The PB2000 and PC2000 are priced the same. I think there may be a bit of confusion when I said the PC2000 is cheaper. It's "cheaper" because the cost of adding the soundpath isolation feets are already counted in the PC2000's price tag.

Promos are kind of pointless in boleh land because most people would rather just buy some logitech speaker or bose or something like that. Waste all the money for promo to get like 5 buyers, for what? Exposure? Those who already knows the brand will find a way to get it.
Those who doesn't know, like I said... their knowledge starts at "logitech speakers cukup, got boom boom already what, no meh?" Good luck trying to educate them in a short brand promo, next to impossible. Good thing the internet exists these days.
The PB13u has more output over the PC13u. This is simply due to size. I mean, SVS could make a bigger PC13u when they designed it but that would defeat the whole purpose of a cylinder sub to begin with right (this is also why a PC16u doesn't exist, according to them)? smile.gif

PB13u is not discontinued btw, just not being brought in anymore. I think you can still get a special order from Max, I'm not sure though.

That said, the PC13u is absolutely no slouch. It's still a 20hz monster, consumer subs wise.
*
Thanks fyi sifu Ben! I think Max has made final shipment for PB13u earlier and ain't gonna bring it in anymore.

Honestly that's because we have a lack of choices here. If PSA, Hsu, Rythmik (okay they used to, many years ago), and RBH are as readily available as SVS here, you won't be seeing such products being snapped up so fast.

In fact SVS isn't one of the best anymore in the price-performance category, in the US and Europe at least.

Sad to say that only other company, sub wise that matches SVS for price-performance in Malaysia is JL Audio. But even then, JL is still more expensive in most cases.
*
Ya, precisely... lack of choices here indeed! JL, PSA, Xtz not well promoted here and also expensive... some of the brands to be considered. Hsu and Rythmik used to be good as well

Yes, in US and EU there many better choices subs beside Svs which is more affordable with better performance.

Sadly will have to wait pre-owned units here and grab it quickly before it's gone...

Ya unfortunate. Most people are content with slim, 6 inch subwoofers where they can hide under their sit or some cabinet now a days. Market getting so small, too niche.

But then again, thankfully we still have bros like sivanathan04 who are serious about good quality audio, know how to cut through the marketing bullshit and buy what was actually - good. We only live once! biggrin.gif

Ya, true many people preferred aesthetic value rather performance now a days...

Yes, Bro Sivanathan04, who appreciates good quality audio... becoming sifu soon!  thumbup.gif

I called them before, but they don't have many ready models available. Most of the models (like the popular FV15HP) usually need to wait for MOQ or special order only, which takes a couple of months to arrive. At the end, they end up more expensive than SVS.

FV15HP is good choice though but sadly is on MOQ basis which cost a lot more...

Honestly, if you want a flagship AVR from Yamaha - just keep an eye out on all the clearance sales for last year's models coming up. Get the A3060 while you can, it'll be significantly cheaper than the A3070 and the difference is insignificant.

The DAC "upgrade", I don't want to touch on that. There are people who will swear that they can hear the difference between a 9026 and 9018 ESS, so... yeah.
*
Thank you for your comment bro! If that's the case do you think is it even better to get RX A3050 over RX A3060 for price difference of around RM2k now!

Here's the difference based on fact sheets... biggrin.gif

RX-A3060 Compared to the RX-A3050

Last Update: 08/17/2016

The RX-A3060 has the following advantages/differences over the RX-A3050

1. Dolby Atmos/DTS-X/HDR BT.2020:
RX-A3060 has Dolby Atmos/DTS-X/HDR BT.2020 pass-through features out of the box.
RX-A3050 needed a firmware update for Dolby Atmos/DTS-X/HDR BT.2020 pass-through.
2. New Power Amp Assign allowing 5.1.2 & Bi-Amp.
3. Extra Bass Zone for 2 & 3
4. Zone Volume Equalizer (Tone Control: Auto)
5. Precision EQ with 64-bit and 3D processing
6. New HD GUI interface.
7. USB iPod/Apple has support removed.
8. Subwoofer EQ range 15.6 Hz to 250.0 Hz. (RX-A3050 31.3 Hz to 250.0 Hz)
9. DSP program over lay on Dolby Atmos and DTS-X

Power Specifications are the same:

2-channel driven (20 Hz to 20 kHz, 0.06% THD, 8 ohms) 150 W

Actually I'm keen on the EQ range down to 15.6hz... don't think the EQ range can be firmware upgraded rite?
