That is insanely long considering the car is not officially launch yet.

When HRV first launch the waiting period was up to 1 year depending on your colour choice.

Actually it won't - all it really is an oil filter can with 2 additional hoses that is plugged into the existing ports of the engine. No cutting is involved. So how to justify voiding any warranty? If any drilling is involved is also with the bracket holding the oil catch tank, but it seems like you can actually just screw onto the existing screw holes that's located by the chassis.
*
This is a dangerous assumption to make in a country where consumer rights is the punchline of a bad joke.

If Honda Malaysia says void, then you're basically shit out of luck. You bring them to the consumer tribunal / court, they will throw the warranty T&C at you - any unauthorized modifications will void your warranty. Did the OCT come with the car? Did Honda Malaysia installed the OCT for you? no? then it's an unauthorized mod.

Always assume that they are looking for excuses to squirm their way out of honoring your warranty.

But for the case of the OCT, I think it is safer to just uninstall and restore the original hoses before sending it for service, then re-install it after you get your car back. After all, you probably need to empty the tank once every few months anyway.

So they follow BMW system to service only when required as per driving style. That's pretty good.
*
But they still cap it at 10k km/6 months max, which is what other new Honda cars are scheduled anyway.

What this really means is that the system can now ask you to service earlier than 10k/6mo, but never later.

BMW's CBS system has a max interval of 25k km, IINM.

Correct me if I am wrong.

From my SA,

Let say if the system indicator shows B, suggesting we need to change oil and filter at 6000km, we still need to go for 10,000km service. The 10k km interval is compulsory. So if oil/filter changed at 6k km, at 10k km no need anymore unless it blink again for 2nd time.. sweat.gif  The SC will change other parts that need to be replaced according to normal 10k km service routine.
*
I see. But 10k service, for example, memang is just oil and filter change. Also it doesn't make sense that you need to go to SC twice in 10k km if the indicator show up before 10k km, right? what if the indicator light up at 8500km? are you going to go to Honda SC at 8500km, then go back again at 10000km? hmm.gif

My impression is that, let's say the system alerts that you need to do an oil and filter change at 7k km, and you go and do it at a Honda SC, that will be your "10k" km service. the technician will reset the system, so that the next service will be the next time the light blink again (or the next 10k km).

For example, you got your new car and drive it for 7k km and you see the indicator blink. So you send it to your trusted Honda SC, and they do the necessary service, then reset the system to tell it that it now has fresh oil/new filter. You bring your car home, drive it for another 8k km (total 15k km) and it blinks again, so you have to bring it to Honda SC service again. So by 15k km, you would have already serviced it (change EO) twice. Get what I mean?

Got your point, but what if at 7k indicator blink A, change oil only .then 10k should send again to change filter? So at which point will SC reset the system? Oil change or at 10k filter change?
*
The filter change should be rolled til the oil change, or at least I hope they do. I'd be royally pissed if they changed my EO then tell me to come back 2k-3k km later just to change the filter.

I would recommend honda drop the 1.8L model. Sell the basic 1.5T at 1.8L price.

While you're at it, pls also suggest that Honda drop the Honda City and sell Civic at Honda City price.

So I took annual leave this morning
Went to the nearest Honda showroom to take a look
(only one of the above statement is true brows.gif)

Only the 1.8l was on display as the 1.5T was at the main branch and will only be moved to this branch next week.

Looked around, touched here touched there, start engine, had the SA demonstrate remote engine start, asked about bodykits (official Modulo full set is around RM4.6k)

My first impression, at circa 120k, the 1.8l is very good value for money. Unsurprisingly no test drive available, have to wait til next week when the 1.5T comes to this branch. The fully digital meter cluster is impressive, but seemed kinda out of place for an economy compact car, hopefully it is durable.

official pricing STILL NOT AVAILABLE bangwall.gif

I also thought the so-called touch-panel A/C control is similiar to what you see in City/Jazz V spec....but as it turns out that it is integrated into the touch screen.

Also, the HU display is also shown on the meter cluster, ie: the name of the song that is being played, the number/person you are talking to on the phone via bluetooth....
