- The mixed asset income fund recorded a gross income of RM228.72 million, an increase from its first gross profit of RM130.6 million posted last year.

- Income from sales of shares contributed RM101.81 million (44.5%), while dividend income from investment in companies contributed RM87.97 million (38.5%) and other income including sukuk and fixed deposits contributed RM38.94 million (17%).

-  Unitholders' investments in ASB2 this year have doubled from RM2.175 billion in 2015 to over RM4.4 billion this year.

- The number of unitholders has increased from 103,546 last year to 159,480, with 25.4% of subscribers aged 19 to 34 years and 44% aged 34 to 54 years.

- ASB2 capable of distributing 8 sen per unit

I think no matter how much the others earn, the ASB has to give a higher dividend, this is in line with Dasar Ekonomi Baru set up last time as to help the Bumis

If this is the reason, then non-Bumis should be thankful that we have a chance to earn something here. Based on the above again, then my understanding would be PNB was set-up to help the Bumis gain more traction in the country's wealth due to the other races being more well-informed in income-attaining methods.

Hence, the other races should strive to achieve other methods of gaining income, and not to depend too much on the PNB, in line with the Gov't's strategy. Those other races should then learn to take their money somewhere else to prosper,... and to diversify out.

It takes too long to see results, to educate retail investors to take calculated risks to gain reasonable returns... so this is a convenient solution

So many people say that... but really, is that the most effective way?
I'm an accounting grad, financial management is one of the mandatory course, but most of my friends n colleagues in the profession have credit card debts, don't save enough, don't look into growing personal wealth although they are fantastic accountants

Would u say our education system failed us?
I don't think so... one of the reason I would attribute it to is what kpfun suggested... others may include, there are not enough urgency and culturally it's not something that people talk about openly

The above is still being debated upon,... as I have found out among my peers and the students that I have helped out. There is still not  good syllabus out there yet for investment-related courses. I/We continue to debate with the proper educational authorities on how to structure such a syllabus.
