so yesterday i was exploring around searching for the best price for nds and i finally found a shop in Leisure Mall (which i think most ppl won't know) which sells their nds lite for RM560 (without bargaining)
when i ask the shop owner , she said tat it can play homebrew
so is that a good price ?

NDS lite = RM550-699

To be able to use homebrew applications, you'll need additional software/hardware like Supercard, and you'll need to invest in a SD card too.. Your retailer/seller is trying to tell you that it is flashed.

Supercard + SD = Roughly RM200+/-

I think. Just helping out. Non homebrew user here.

i think the price is fairly cheap. most shop sell it for RM 600+. yeah, it is flashed and then u must have a supercard to play homebrew. sc around RM150+ and SD card around 100+

it's better to buy the newly launch Supercard DS One, or Ninjapass.. it will fit into slot 1 (ds card) rather than using the normal supercard.. Pros:
- No need flashing / use flashme / passme to play ahem games..
- U can play nds games that interact with gba games..
- No need to convert ahem games that u've download..

just my 2 cents

YES, u need a SD to run with ur SC. (SD act as a memory to store homebrew)

for slot1, some brand also need SDcard to run with it.
the one can run without SDcard means u only have limited space to store homebrew.
in market now, the only slot1 i saw is DSlink ( http://www.ds-link.net/english/ ) at sg.wang IT floor selling at RM190.

one more thing, regarding the cracked hinge issue...is it a common problem or based on how you handle your ndsl?

Well, apparetly the problem is quite common among White DS. Have yet to heard it happen on Black. Not sure about pink. Handling also have a big impact on it. If you handle it roughly, then expect the DS to have bruises. One other thing is this, the DS needs to be wiped regularly. Finger print magnet the machine is.

I was to type something out about that, but you know.. on Wii..

Anyways, the affected was mainly the first batch of lite's in the states which had cracked hinges. Like rev said, the white. But now, ds is available in 4 types of region here. So get a japan, euro, or asian version to be safe smile.gif

With the crappy 3 to 1 exchange rate we have against the Dollar or Yen, you won't be going far with your DS without using them flashcarts. Enjoy your 120 bux gaems kekeke (I bet them americans wouldn't be so fervert in supporting original games if they're also sold at USD$120 per cartridge)
