For first time driver, new car have less surprises than used units. Persona is a good choice. I'm sure you can get a good deal now that the market is slow.

Thank you for all the kind and supportive replies guys. On my way to work I see so many persona drivers. Some are surely better looking than other persona.

This is as a result of having a nice bodykit and rims. Not to mention the colour.

I have made up my mind, I'm getting a Persona SV. Now is the question on accessories.

What do you recommend?

Persona SV, look out for leaking windscreen and water entering from the bottom of the door.

I'm not bashing, it's a known issue with the Persona, and I got one myself with these problems. Settled after leaving the car at SC for a day.

Also note that the SV only have 2 years warranty, although Proton being Proton the parts are more affordable than a used Merc.

Thank you for all the kind replies, guys. I have decided to buy Proton Persona. I will book the car soon. May I ask any accessories recommended for the steering wheel and seats? I do not like the look of the basic steering wheel and seats.

Just bought a used persona se from fellow lowyat mmbers.

I must say one of the best buy i had. The car gave me 4.9 - 4.6l/100km when crusing at 120-130kmh.

The cons is just that sometimes the lock behave erratically, aircond hose bocor n the side mirror abit wonky.

Else, its good

Bought my persona elegance H-Line 2012 last year December..
Cost me RM 28,500 from used car dealer. I suggest u look for a good condition used proton persona H-Line. More worth it. U saved on the depreciation cost + H-Line have better soundproof than SV.

Pros
- comfortable ride (leather seat)
- very cold aircond
- power is sufficient for me
- nice exterior design especially with the stock bodykit
- abs + dual airbags
- car is stable on highway
- nice door closing sound. Feels solid
- NVH is considered good at this price

Cons
- high Fc 8.5-9L/100km (still slightly btr than my previous waja)
- low sped braking will have sound.. Can't fix.
- stock tyre (bridgestone ecopia) quite noisy for me.
- with bodykit, the car is too low. I have hit my bumper countless time when going down from shopping mall parking.
- cold start will have tak tak tak sound from engine.
- some rat sound here n there which is normal I guess

steering & seat can wrap to leather if you wan .

for this moment is no point to buying 2015 persona since the discount difference is only Rm1500.

saga maintenance for cvt>persona

i have a dillema of getting saga 1.6 and persona sv that time.
I took persona sv no regrets!

Just take note abit of plastic noise here and there biggrin.gif

anyway is a good ride. i have the car 11 months with me now clocked at 20km.

Abit of issue i encountered:
leaking WINDSCREEN. fix it by sending to sc and they apply back sealant
my aircond blower got abit of sound cause by carbon brush rubbing(told by sc) replace that as well

overall no problem at all. its a good car.
yea its very good to drive in highway rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
i got around 11-12km/L
i dont drive in jam much other then off days. most of the time is smooth traffic to work daily and highway on offdays.

I didnt change anything on my car. all stock. i just add in some cushion as sometimes after work i sweat so to prevent it from making my seat dirty i have sort of like car cushion for it.

If you make any nice add on share it with me maybe im interested to get it drool.gif drool.gif

Change bigger rims? Maybe 16 inch? better stability and grip, but will affect comfort.

I think ur steering has airbag already so u cant chg it anyway.

Seats got some selling semi leather seat covers for the seats. not sure nice or not. Can find in Mudah.

Can add Ultra racing bars.

Overall chassis is good, but the intake manifold are bad quality
Inside the manifold flaps will break ,clog the intake and pieces of metal damage the intake valves
Result of valve leakage
