QUOTE(wayton @ Mar 9 2021, 09:37 AM)
5G is not positive catalyst for Telco.
5G only good for equipment makers, driving handphone selling.

Consumer is not expecting to pay more monthly subscription fee by having 5G.
While Telco need to invest lot of money for 5G.
I came across article said 5G signal has weaker penetration that need more telco tower or signal compared to 4G.

But Digi has stable business and a good dividend income stock.

Telcos need to build higher network density for a full 5G economy. This part, the gov wants to b responsible for it n own it. So local telcos dont need to spend much on the infra.

But 5G also requires telcos to adopt B2B biz model wherbit can charge app-centric network n many other new features for the industries. Revenue should b more compared to 4G

Good morning folks.

Cut loss for my remaining KGB and VSTEC stocks. Don’t look back. Don’t regret your decision even if the stocks rebound tomorrow or next week.

Protect your capital/troops and live to fight another day!

Once we enter the territory of 40% to 50% unrealized losses, it can cause heavy damage to the overall portfolio.

Be careful of confirmation bias when we are holding on to a losing position and trying to find justifications not to sell it. Does the TA and FA support our view?

Dad, which stock are in Ur shopping list? All red red now

Malaysians purchasing power has already decrease alot
The economy could support the growth of 5G
DIGI parent Telenor had already studied this issue. That's why they are planning to sale the stake or to merge with others
I would assume many of Malaysians will be forced to remain in LTE

Really?
Do you have source of info regarding this so that can read on it.
If telcos don't need to built the 5G network infra, then it is good for telco.

I still think it will rebound in these few days due to oversold and excessive fear.

But i will take the rebound and run, no point being stubborn as clearly sentiment have shifted

You are spot on. Pricing from the govt SPV for 5G has not announce how much they selling 5G to the telcos. Whether this cost can be transferred to consumers, I highly doubt. For me if just on mobile, 5G would result a lost for telcos in the near term. But moving on 5G not just for mobile. It's high data speed plus low latency means lots of other business use for it. Eg automated driving, of course in Malaysia still many years away and lack the proper infrastructure.

One factor though not many people talked about is the decommissioning of 3G. Saves opex somewhat. Today telco shares up again. Patience until the next correction due to unique Malaysia political factor. Interestingly AA been going up big as reflected by airline shares around the world? I think market looking too forward for this. Look forward to AA next QR result.

Bursa seems to be going up today except for tech stocks.

Check the MyDigital blueprint. Msia will deploy 5G through a “special purpose vehicle” (SPV) that will receive 5G spectra, as well as build, operate and lease 5G infrastructure to new and existing telcos by the end of 2021

Bursa tech is the biggest bear trap ever haha. I did not sell any stock during the correction. Only sold UWC around the peak. I am playing tech with Gamestop profits. Feel free to inverse me but I am probably dumb enough to hold at such valuations. Blue chip/recovery investors will be bored and come back to high growth once yields recover and blue chip stocks go back to pre-Covid valuations

But please sell if you need the money for emergency uses. High risk

Do you prefer Genting/Tenaga/Airport that moves at most 5% or growth stocks with high volatility, instant gratification will force investors to high growth for sure. It is only a matter of time. The era of instant gratification

Not sure when the yields will recover though. Keep monitoring.

my RM8 collection already sold off before October 2020.

my RM7 and RM6.5 collection already sold off during RSS rebound and BursaBet rebound.

and no, I don't have deep pocket.

but I know the criteria and requirement needed for investing, and I am expecting TG to hit 3.50.
