I disagree.  laugh.gif

Stock price got 3 movement..

1. TNB return to RM12-13, ie it will increase
2. TNB share price stagnant for years
3. TNB share price drop further

Do not discount option 2 + 3 for longer period of investment  laugh.gif
*
Let's study the factors what will lead to this 3 possibilities

1. TNB return to RM12-13, ie it will increase
- Introduction of EV to Malaysia and being tax-free/Subsidized by Govt
- Higher margin of Sales and revenue due to low O&G Price
- Increase of electricity Trariif
- Improvement of Malaysia economy
- Global inflation

2. TNB share price stagnant for years
- Mixture in between 1 and 3. however the dividend might cover and offset this and make it a solely dividend investment tools

3. TNB share price drop further
- Collapse of Malaysia economy
- Global financial crisis
- Higher subsidy or discount to user
- Lower Margin due to high cost of power generation
- Malaysia economy lowered due to closure/bankrupt

Can I throw in the point that in the event all the conditions in scenario 1 come true, there are other companies way better positioned than Tenaga for capital appreciation. So even in scenario 1, I cannot see Tenaga being a good choice considering opportunity cost.
*
And it could also mean other company will dive lower than Tenaga if shit hits on Malaysia

It's also about risk:reward ratio

if one is 65 years old, do he or she should put more weightage on tech or dividend stocks? it is wise to buy more KLK instead of Tenaga? or do buy more frontken instead of tenaga?

talking about general investing. not trading 2-5 years plan

if i use the unaudited numbers from its QR report, for fast numbers, I just peep at each Q4 qr from Bursa website

Year 2013... pat was 4.614 billion
2014 pat was 6.467 billion
2015 pat was 6.118 billion

Earnings didn't decline since 2013...
hehe... you certainly poke the eye with Tenaga. LOL!
To be honest, this series of discussion on Tenaga highlights clearly some wrong teachings about the market...

A monopolistic business is not a sure win. Perfect example is Tenaga. (not gonna repeat what I posted earlier tongue.gif)

Dividend investing. LOL! Amazing isn't it? Many just don't get it. Dividend investing isn't a sure win. And if choose the wrong stock, with the declining earnings/dividends, losses will really snowball.

And many still average down their investments.
*
It's not the just matter of dividend investing, It is also the matter of investing is utilities that gives us the impression of having a steady source of income

and utilities =/= airlines stocks

TM prices did fell from rm7 to a low of rm2.50, yet it rebounded

There are some gloves companies that are in good management...

While SD is the obvious big bully
This KPMG also another sneaky snake
I think the auditor already knew SD financial condition before decided to part ways with SD
They already knew that they will miss the bond payment, don't they?

Normally, if the management could satisfy auditors query, auditors would give the management the benefits of doubt. Only until the abnormalities is too obvious and could not pass simple test, auditor is obliged to mention and dig further.

It is the client SD own doing to accumulate debts and cook the book. Which reputable auditors is willing to associate with crooks?

If you want to blame KPMG, should blame them not to expose this earlier.
*
What i wanted to highlight is this- why not expose earlier? shit must have about to hit the fan (it probably will)

the client SD was obvious in the wrong, but that doesn't mean the KPMG is clean either

Folks need to realize the difference between an auditor and a watchdog.
Auditors do not perform watchdog duties. Even if an auditor finds serious misconduct during an audit, they are not cleared to release it publicly. They will only include it in the report.

I see no fault of the auditors here when it comes to the missteps of public companies recently.
Just correction at play.
The price ran up way beyond the fundamentals in my opinion, so what is happening is a natural correction.
*
Errr. Correct me if I'm wrong

But isn't an auditor is a watchdog?

A watchdog which only bark after the thief is about to leave the house after taking a bag full of gold, does it consider a good watchdog?

And they are auditing a public listed company, and it has to be reporting to the public once clarification with the ceo is done

Top glove. With their mismanagement of their fund and money. No eye see

But others with strong cash flow. They can be beaten down but will not die easily.

and not forgetting by that time..... it shall return to its former glory in a sunset industry ........... a sunset industry without much catalyst unless another pandemic happens again....

but the earnings and money retained from profits are real

not talking about topglove which wasted billions on buyback

look at oil palm, the profits is real, it has intrinsic tangible values
