I'm not so bearish MYR with Oil and Palm Oil prices being pretty high.

BNM expected to hike interest rate twice later this year (50 bps) which is appropriate I think.

If Baba and Tencent are a huge part of your portfolio, then it is not diversification.

30+% in 2 stocks of the same country and sector. Basically, u r betting big on China large cap tech, in particular, these 2 stocks.

Nothing wrong with that, if it's ur strategy. But I won't call it diversification.

P/S I myself have occasionally have some big bets on some stocks or market.

5% (or 20 stocks) is the level considered optimum to diversify from stock specific risks.

Stock specific risk is like Jack Ma pissing of CCP last year,, Serba picking fight with Auditors n the regulators last year, Meta missing earnings expectations this month.

There are also sector risks, country risks, market risk. To mitigate these you need to diversify even further to other markets and asset classes.

My personal style is to use ETFs. Basically, about 70-80% in ETF and 20-30% in less than 5 stocks which will then allow me to study the stocks well, but still maintain a decent level of diversification.

The ETFs are used for diversification and also execute my macro level viewpoints. Its not just equities, but can be commodities, fixed income n even money market. These ETFs can be in Bursa, Sgx, HK or US.

For the stocks, some are income+growth n some just growth. Usually Bursa, but can be SGX n HK.

P/S I know this style wont get me rich quick. This is my preferred style after 10 years of DIY investing in the stock market. Everyone should find a style that works for them.

Bursa has only one which is the Affinhwang Goldetf (0828EA).

US has lots..gold, silver, platinum, oil, copper, carbon etc. with even many different strategies.
