I lost heavy on AA when the pandemic hit last year by selling off position in March/April but i was so surprise to see it gaining momentum recently.  The budget travel industry is surely not ready to recover this year even with vaccines. The cost of quarantine in a hotel etc defeats the budget travel niche. So why is  AA flying? maybe its not  because of its travel business and there is something else brewing, now that there is Tune Pro insurance and food delivery?

Logic does not matter. What matters is the "future" forward looking impression and hype.
*
I've learnt that market goes by sentiment that's not supported by logic, so stocks like these can go up for no apparent reason other than they're in tourism.

Ouch, I’m still holding at 20%+ loss ah jiejie
*
Yeah, I remember yours the same as mine. So wanted to share what I did, lol

QUOTE(gapipig @ Mar 9 2021, 11:40 AM)
hmm I thought KGB has good prospects and fundamental etc ? Why not just hold?  hmm.gif
*
I've mentioned before for my case, I've learnt the very expensive and heart breaking way with gloves and other stocks since I started, I kept holding them till even 50% loss, and end up no end in sight. I can choose to keep for years but...some stocks are not worth killing myself over.

QUOTE(Duckies @ Mar 9 2021, 11:48 AM)
As for KGB, alternative way is to cut and re-enter at lower. Now might dropped 20%..mana tau later 40%? so if cut now and re-enter later..the profit will be much better. However, this method doesn't apply to all counters and all individuals...how much losses you can tolerate will differ from each other.
*
Yeah, this is my thought, later even lower, how? Happened to me many times, so I'll accept it's my luck, haha....so don't fight it, if not comfortable and convinced, CL.

This applies to me, everyone does it differently smile.gif

Another thing is to look at a longer horizon beyond the trend’s pressure. The trend is evidently AGAINST gloves now and FAVORS recovery stocks so gloves will be given low valuation, but how long will this trend last and will this matter in a longer time frame? A true FA has to ignore most of the short to mid term white noises.

Things to ponder about.
*
Ya, those who can ignore noises, can hold for many years. I'm doing this for my bank stocks, and other stable dividend stocks.

Now is the dry season fanning the fire and causing all the glove stocks to burn.

I am waiting for rain to come. It is supposed to rain by today or within the next 1 week.

Otherwise, I will have to pull out all my troops in stages. No point letting them burn to death.  sweat.gif
*
Uncle, what you plan to do if rain today or next one week?

So jie jie sold/CL all units already? Am i all alone in this expensive penthouse now?
*
Hehe, I'm sure there are still others, and they won't think it's a penthouse.
I still have more than half left from my total. I cut cuz wanna reduce my loss exposure in case fall off the cliff.

Do you think people are moving from other glove stocks to TG due to the dividend? All of the other glove stock experienced drop even though RSS only aimed at TG.
*
I wouldn't be surprised with that since gloves are generally seen as 'hopeless' and if they still wanna have a stake at it, may as well be TG. I, for one, is like that too. At least dividends are high, as a minor consolation, if anything.

Regret not averaging down when it was 1.7. Now I’m still sipping hot tea at penthouse
*
QUOTE(Kar Weng @ Mar 11 2021, 02:31 PM)
I’m at 2.3x, sad but true...

I had the capability to average with an impact more than 5x my current holding in KGB, which would’ve turned my loss into a win, but didn’t do it out of fear.

No regrets coz we can’t predict the market anyways
*
Don't think of the what ifs. Imagine if you did that and it went down by 5 times more, then how? "What ifs I have bought" became "I should have sold"

Remember why you didn't do it in the first place, and no regrets when it goes up. Like I wouldn't say, aiya, regret I sold some earlier, etc.

Self Note :

Sold the following stocks today:

1. Armada for about +9% profit
2. Jaycorp for about +2.33%
3. DHIP for about +1% profit.

Transferring the proceeds to another stocks.

Monitoring glove stocks. To reduce, cut or hold? Light at the end of the tunnel? When?

Let's see how Maybulk will perform over the next few days. Is it really a turnaround stock or just a pump and dump stock? TA looks promising but the FA looks horrible.

MMC looks more solid.

Monitoring EITA and Complet. Both fell about -20% and -42% over the past 5 to 10 trading days. Catching a falling knife again??
*
Uncle, what's your spread like for gloves? More on which glove stocks and does it make up huge chunk of your entire stock portfolio?

I feel it's quieter these couple of days. Is it cuz techs kena battering, gloves so-so and other stocks are like for frying/stable/uninteresting, hence, lesser excitement?

Myself I'm monitoring steel, thought would have bigger upward movement but generally still staying same.

Grab Holdings Inc. is in talks to go public through a merger with a SPAC that could value the Southeast Asian ride-hailing startup at as much as $40 billion, making it by far the largest such deal on record.

The Singapore company is discussing a deal with a special-purpose acquisition company affiliated with Altimeter Capital Management LP that would value it at between $35 billion and $40 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. (Altimeter has two SPACS; it couldn’t be learned which one is in talks with Grab.)

Many will buy into this.

I think glove stocks make up about 60% of my overall portfolio. Time to trim.

BTW, I mentioned Complet in my post yesterday. Today, it has rocketed +16%. Missed the boat. Oh well, life goes on.  smile.gif
*
Uncle didn't buy Complet after mentioning it ah?

For gloves, I'm also trimming it and gradually feeling better to endure the losses in the course of doing so...long way to go before my portfolio can be less influenced by gloves, but oh well, gotta work through it.

Thanks for sharing.

Me not sifu, but here is my understanding.

HK Listing is primary dual-listing. From Google, primary listing is listing of new shares. So, new TG shares will be available to HK, adding to current number of shares, thus dilution effect.

OTOH, SGX listing is secondary dual-listing. Secondary listing inSGX  means selling existing shares to be listed in SG. No dilution happens.

I made a huge blunder in not finding out more about the Hong Kong listing. If only I knew about the difference of primary & dual listing then...... Mr Market ady knew what's gonna happen then, hence the market reaction.

P.S. I really wonder why the need for primary listing? HK listing must only be primary listing? I don't know. If TG changes it to secondary listing, perhaps share price will rebound. But unlikely, as TG has ady submitted application.

QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Mar 12 2021, 03:27 PM)
If the offering in HK is not well received, it will signal further downtrend as sign of subdue demand from global investors would weaken local investors confidence.

But it could happen the opposite, which is high demand from global investors during the offering exercise will provide the much needed confidence for our local investors.

It's really a gamble, and also depend on market appetite for gloves share. Especially global institutional investors

I learnt so much from these two posts, lol, thanks

Careplus, Comfort, Supermax and Top Glove.

Minggu depan, mungkin saya akan kasi potong kecuali Comfort dan Top Glove.
*
I've chopped until left bones with second liners, just for posterity sake.

Smax, I may trim down eventually if they're gonna continue be this bad.

I think everyone's getting quiet cuz Bursa doesn't have much excitement with any particular sectors or stocks, except for those few.
I was trying to see if there's any that I can venture into, but, none yet that excites me since now I wanna see long term.

On the side, property stocks shot up alot...anyone has any stocks in that?

Thank y’all, now I have a clearer picture. Not sure if I should hold it for the dividends though.
*
For my side, I'm keeping TG long term since already bleeding so much, so dividends are consolation to hopefully make up teeny bit for it. If you're not in deep reds, and you don't have confidence in it...then...

Haha jiejie want to know my secret? My acquisition price for TG is 5.22 😅
But ya there’s still a possibility to lose confidence then cut loss la, given the very poor market sentiment against gloves. I wonder what’s TG’s plan post-covid, if we can determine that then can better gauge the future.
*
5.22...adui, faint, lol

My style, i prefer long term.

Despite weeks of correction some prices r still high so hard to aim long term. Like Unisem, i bought 5 it’s now 7. Long way to go to reach level 5. My Greatech is still green in my portfolio, keeping for long term
*
Last time felt the same with gloves, but end up also can reach 5 @_@ lol...

QUOTE(Kar Weng @ Mar 15 2021, 03:41 PM)
TG is continuing to go south.
*
TG, my heart is okay with it...it's Smax that I cannot dry.gif

Anything happening with Genetec? I see steep down for it today. I don't follow this sector, asking cuz I somehow have it on my watchlist, lol
